Chapter 305
Chapter 305
"Hey!" Hearing the footsteps behind her, the nurse turned around and saw Coralie, who was almost
frozen, running vigorously towards the rehabilitation center. The nurse hurriedly chased after her,
shouting, "No! Don't go in there!" This text is property of Nô/velD/rama.Org.
Coralie wasn't listening. She threatened Valerie for the address and came all the way here. She was
not going to give up right now.
Coralie wanted to tell Skylar that it didn't matter. She didn't mind. She wanted to stay with him!
"Miss! Don't do that!"
The nurse chased after Coralie.
Coralie ran all the way into the rehabilitation center. The lighting on the ground floor was motion-
triggered. As soon as she stepped in, lights flooded the hallway. Coralie saw a room down the hallway
with its lights already turned on before she entered the building.
There were other doctors in the rehabilitation center. Because of what happened last time, they
immediately realized what was going on when they saw Coralie.
"Don't tell me she's here for President Holland again?"
"I think so..."
While they were still figuring it out, Coralie had already run past them.
Her movements were sluggish. In fact, the two doctors and one nurse chasing after Coralie were all
better than her in terms of their physical abilities.
Coralie, on the other hand, was so eager to see Skylar that she ran like the wind.
Coralie was about to reach the room at the end of the corridor!
"Stop right there!"
The doctor behind her shouted.
The corridor was noisy.
Coralie couldn't care less. Opening the door, she ran into the room at the end of the corridor.
It was the rehabilitation chamber!
Coralie immediately noticed Skylar in scrubs, sitting in a wheelchair inside the rehabilitation chamber.
Hearing the commotion outside, he got into his wheelchair in order to take a closer look at the situation
outside.
As soon as he sat in the wheelchair, Coralie ran in.
Seeing Skylar, she opened her arms and threw herself at him without second thought!
The entire wheelchair spun under her momentum. However, Coralie was not afraid at all. She placed
her arms around Skylar's neck and said softly, "I finally found you."
Skylar was stunned.
He had not expected Coralie to come here. Instinctively, he wanted to be angry. However, when he felt
her embrace, he could not bring himself to be angry at her.
Thereupon, the doctors and nurses caught up with Coralie. They saw Coralie hugging Skylar with her
back towards them. Although the expressions of both their faces were obscured, the doctors could see
Skylar raising his arms and placing them gingerly on Coralie's waist
"This... "
The doctors looked at each other again. It was apparent that Skylar's attitude towards Coralie was very
different from his attitude towards Valerie.
"You may leave."
Skylar uttered softly to them as he held Coralie in his arms.
Upon Skylar’s orders, the doctors immediately went out, leaving the duo alone in the rehabilitation
chamber.
"I've seen you. Don't lie to me, and don't drive me away anymore."
Coralie raised her head and looked at Skylar pleadingly, like a spoiled child.
In fact, Coralie hadn't acted like a spoiled child for many years. Throughout her years of hard work, she
barely found the time to go soft on people, let alone act like a spoiled child. Yet now, faced with Skylar,
she began to act like a young girl and spoke coquettishly.
Skylar looked at Coralie. Although he was obviously hugging her tightly, he said with a cold look on his
face, "No. Go back."
"Why?" Coralie was puzzled. "I love you. No matter what happens, I will always love you. Why won't
you believe me?"
Coralie stood up, looking down at Skylar in his wheelchair. She did not understand why Skylar was still
unwilling to accept her, even after she had made everything clear.
Why was Skylar still chasing her away?
Skylar continued looking at Coralie, his arms still wrapped around her waist, reluctant to let her go.
He struggled mutely in search of answers to Coralie's questions. There was simply no humane way to
do it. He couldn't tell her that he could no longer provide a normal married life for her.
"Regardless of whether you can see it or not, I won't take back what I said the other day. I don't have
any feelings for you, and I don't need your sympathy. You can leave now." Skylar pushed Coralie away
and maneuvered the wheelchair towards his bedroom.
"Sympathy?" Coralie, standing behind Skylar, looked at his back and sneered, "Do you think I'm pitying
you? Why should I pity you? Why would you, the President Skyton Corporation, need my sympathy?
Who wants to sympathize with you?! "
Coralie felt ridiculous. She went to such lengths to get here and she even had to stand outside in the
freezing cold for several hours. Now, she was dismissed for pitying him?
Skylar listened to her outburst. After a brief respite, he said, "It's good that you understand. Please
leave."
He hoped that Coralie would run away.
If she stayed, he may never be able to let her go, ever again.
Coralie missed Skylar. In fact, he felt the same towards her.
"I'm not leaving, Skylar. I'll be bugging you for the rest of my life."
Coralie bit her lip. She was not a stubborn person, but she was not willing to accept it.
Earlier, when Skylar was hugging her, he obviously put all his strength into it, and that was the best
proof of Skylar’s love for her. However, why did he push her away? Was it because of his leg injury?
If that was the case, Coralie would continue pestering him.
"You... " Skylar was speechless.
"Where is your room? I will bring you there. Whatever you need in the future, remember that I will
always be one call away."
Not giving Skylar another chance to dismiss her, Coralie walked over to his wheelchair and pushed him
on her own accord.
......
"If you won't tell me, I'll just ask the nurse." Coralie said nonchalantly.
Knowing that Skylar won't willingly give the information up, she decided to threaten him and have her
way.
"It's on the first floor. It's the room on the top floor."
"Okay." Coralie brought Skylar up to the first floor via the elevator, then pushed him to the front of the
room and said, "Where's the key? I'll open the door for you."
Skylar took out a card from his pocket and scanned it on the infrared scanner. The door opened
automatically.
Pushing Skylar into the room, Coralie stared at the only piece of furniture in the room: a double bed.
She blushed slightly and could not help but complain, "What kind of room is this? You don't even have
a sofa."
Over the years, Coralie had always been alone. For the past few years, she slept with Hendric. When
she was in S Country, she would sleep alone. Looking at the double bed before her, she was at a loss.
Skylar knew that he could not drive Coralie away.
Stretching out his arms, Skylar brought Coralie face to face with him. He gazed at Coralie, his pupils as
dark and deep as an abyss. She met his gaze, with her pupils as clear as the winter sky.
After all these years, Coralie remained unchanging. She had only become more mature and feminine.
Skylar held onto her hand as they looked into each other's eyes for what seemed like an eternity.
Opening his mouth, Skylar finally said, "Coralie, not only will I be disabled for life, but I can't give you a
normal marriage. Are you still willing to stay with me?"
There was a hint of hoarseness in his voice, but every word was enunciated clearly.
Skylar was asking Coralie in all seriousness.
