Chapter 279
Chapter 279
The people from the Watson family were chasing after them from behind. As the smoke was too thick,
they were chasing slowly although Yohan wasn't running fast.
Coralie noticed that all along the way where they were running, there were balloons and flowers, just
like when they landed on the island.
"Where are we going?" Coralie was puzzled.
Yohan didn't reply. He just kept running forward desperately. Coralie could feel that Yohan's strength
was slowly wearing out and his hands almost couldn't support her anymore.
Behind him, the people from the Watson family were still chasing and gunshots were heard
everywhere.
They were going to kill Yohan on the spot.
Soon, Yohan reached a cliff, which was the highest point of the island. Standing there, Coralie looked
back and saw that the island was already a sea of fire and many places had burned down.
Finally, the people from the Watson family caught up. Coralie clearly saw that the man standing in front,
who was dressed in black and was holding a gun, was Dylan.
"Sure enough, it's you," Yohan said.
Coralie saw the cliff behind her. They would definitely fall into the sea if they were to jump down like
this,
She thought that Yohan was going to jump into the sea with her.
"You never belonged to the Watson family. It'll be catastrophic to allow you to stay in the family."
Dylan said frankly.
"Does my mother know about this?" Yohan asked.
At the same time, he was still holding Coralie and stepping backwards.
"She knows about it now, but she can't do anything about it. What she wants now is to just live a good
life. As for your life and death, it has nothing much to do with her."
Dylan said leisurely.
"Is that so?" Yohan asked.
"Why? Are you going to jump?" Dylan questioned.
"Yes, I'm going to jump. How far can you shoot with that small gun of yours?" Yohan provoked.
S Country allowed the residents to carry weapons but there was a restriction on the number of guns
one could possess.
Most of the guns were distributed by Yohan's father. As for these two sons, they were only given a few
guns, and Dylan was holding a pistol.
"As far as I need to kill both of you."
Dylan replied confidently.
Coralie also noticed that among these people, only Dylan had a gun. The rest of the bodyguards were
holding sticks.
Yohan held Coralie in his arms while stepping backwards. As she was wearing a large wedding gown,
it was troublesome and heavy for Yohan to carry her.
"Close your eyes later on."
Yohan whispered to her.
"Put me down. Their target is you. You can just run away," Coralie said.
Her wedding dress was too heavy. Moreover, she was weak, so there was no way for her to run with
Yohan.
Although Yohan had done those things and she hated him, at this moment, with Dylan's people
threatening to kill him, Coralie realized that she still wished that he could live.
Dylan heard what Coralie suggested and said, "Father said that after all, you are considered as only
half his son. He can bury both of you together after we take your bodies back."
He made it obvious that they were going to kill both of them.
Coralie's face turned pale. "Even if you are from the Watson family, you can't kill people so recklessly!"
She shouted.
"Well, you're right. We're not going to kill you. It's just that the island is on fire and both of you didn't
manage to escape. We're also very sad about it."
Dylan said with a smile. Belonging to NôvelDrama.Org.
This was the second time that Coralie had spoken to Dylan. The last time was in the corridor. However,
when she thought about it, she realized that Dylan had already revealed this matter at that time.
"This is considered murder!" She yelled.
She knew that they had planned this since the beginning. They were planning to burn them to death.
"Close your eyes," Yohan said.
While Coralie and Dylan were arguing, Yohan whispered into her ear. Right after that, he suddenly
turned around and jumped off the cliff behind them.
Bang!
Dylan was quick enough to pull the trigger directed at Yohan's chest at the very moment Yohan turned
around to jump off the cliff.
"Ah!" Coralie screamed.
She closed her eyes and felt her body falling. This feeling was similar to when she fell off the building
the other day.
However, this experience only lasted a few seconds and suddenly stopped.
It was just downward momentum, and then they bounced back up.
"Alright, open your eyes now."
Yohan's voice sounded.
Coralie opened her eyes and saw herself inside a large hot air balloon.
As they fell, the knot of the hot air balloon was undone due to the downward momentum. This was an
ingenious design. When the hot air balloon moved downwards, the rope would untangle from the fixed
position.
After that, the hot air balloon rose rapidly.
It was a pink hot air balloon and it rapidly rose beyond Dylan's shooting range.
"This..."
"I wanted to give you a surprise on our wedding day, but I didn't expect it to be used like this."
Yohan said while leaning against the hot air balloon.
Coralie saw Dylan over Yohan's shoulders. He was furious.
She didn't expect Yohan to put so much effort into this wedding.
Coralie sat on the ground with her legs crossed because of her dizziness. The layers of her wedding
gown covered the whole hot air balloon.
She lowered her head and didn't know what to say for a moment.
However, at this moment, a drop of bright red liquid appeared on her white dress.
Then, another drop, and another drop......
Coralie raised her head. She looked at Yohan who was pale and leaning against the hot air balloon.
Then, she figured it out and asked, "Are you injured?"
She stood up. The back of Yohan's white suit was almost fully dyed red with blood.
"Why didn't you say that you were injured?" Coralie asked.
"I'm fine," Yohan answered.
"How are you fine?" Coralie exclaimed.
For the first time, she felt flustered. She wanted to tear off cloth from the wedding dress and bandage
his wound but Yohan stopped her. "I made this wedding gown for you. There is only one in the world.
Don't destroy it, ok?" He said.
He was pleading with her and he forced a painful smile. However, his lips were completely pale.
"Yohan," Coralie said.
"Sorry, Corrie. I have done a lot of wrong things," Yohan apologized.
"Stop talking!" Coralie warned.
Since Yohan didn't allow her to tear her wedding dress, Coralie tore off the inner lining. However, she
figured that Yohan had a gunshot wound and her method of stopping the blood would be totally
ineffective. Moreover, she had never learned first aid.
"Corrie, I'm sorry. Actually, it was I who ordered people to kill Hendric. Both times..."
"It was you? Twice?" Coralie was stunned.
She was busy figuring out what to do, but when she heard what Yohan said, she immediately stopped.
She had never thought that Yohan would harm Hendric.
"I don't want the child of you and Skylar to be alive. I'm afraid that you would have something to worry
about when you're with me," Yohan answered.
He spoke very slowly and uttered word by word. His facial complexion was also turning paler with time.
Blood was dripping on Coralie's pure-white wedding gown.
"You..." Coralie was at a loss for words.
If it wasn't for Yohan's injury, she really didn't know what decision she would make.
However, she couldn't say a single word at this moment.
When she looked at Yohan's blood dripping on the wedding dress, it was as if Yohan's life was slowly
slipping away as well.
"Also, that time I cheated. When I was in the Watson family, they bullied me very badly, but I figured
that if I was going to be the man who will marry you, I shouldn't be defeated so easily. I... Cough..."
Yohan continued.
He began to cough desperately as he spoke. Coralie sort of knew what happened, but not the full story.
"Ok, stop talking, stop talking," Coralie pleaded.
"Actually, I felt inferior. I wanted to go after you earlier, but I wasn't good enough at that time. I was
afraid that I was not as good as the others, that was why I was late..." Yohan went on explaining.
He finally couldn't stand still but he continued talking. He knelt down and stayed in the very narrow
space with Coralie.
The smell of blood filled up the narrow space...
