That Day When I Got Married to My Boss at the Blind Date

Chapter 1097

For a moment, Josie felt like she had returned to the beginning.

She locked eyes with him, filled with resentment. However, Arnold could still speak eloquently, occasionally glancing at Dexter’s position.

She lowered her head and replied, You haven’t divorced Summer yet, have you? If she finds out, she’ll probably rush to Rivodia.

During the intermission, Arnold replied from an unnoticed corner, I guess at this moment her household register would read “widowed.” My name is Robyn, Ms. Warren.

Josie took a deep breath, and at that moment, a figure entered her peripheral vision. It was Scar, dressed in a suit. He walked over to Arnold and said something, to which the latter nodded. Then, he left.

She furrowed her brows, turned around to follow, and had just stepped out of the venue when Dexter’s call came through. “Where are you going?”Content held by NôvelDrama.Org.

“I saw Scar. I want to ask him about it myself.”

“Calm down. He won’t tell you.”

“Then what should I do? Just sit around and do nothing?”

Right then, Arnold sent a photo. It was a picture of Grape frolicking in the garden.

She froze completely. Arnold had already discovered her location.

Josie gripped her phone, trembling. “Dexter…”

Her voice didn’t sound right. The man in the venue stood up and walked to a quiet place.

“What’s wrong?”

“You promised me you would take good care of Grape.”

“Josie, don’t act recklessly. My men are stationed outside, and the senior officer in charge of this case is on his way to Rivodia. Your actions will only disrupt the plan!” Dexter said anxiously.

“I’m asking you to promise me that you will protect Grape!”

Josie leaned against the icy wall, watching as Scar got into a car. Years of obsession made her walk quickly over to the other car and follow him.

“Of course I can do this! Where did you go, Josie?”

“I want to find the answer from two years ago.”

After Josie finished speaking, she promptly hung up the phone and stepped on the accelerator.

Scar headed toward the city center, where the traffic was heavy. Josie was on high alert, keeping a close eye on Scar’s car. To her surprise, his destination was La Oriele, which was currently undergoing renovations. It was considerably quieter than usual.

He had already noticed the car tailing him from behind. He accelerated around the bend, attempting to shake Josie off, but she had significantly improved over the past two years. Her driving skills were excellent, and she ended up crashing straight into the rear of his car.

“Damn!” Scar’s forehead hit the steering wheel. He hadn’t expected her to be so reckless with her life.

He got out and slammed the car door shut. “Who the hell are you? How dare you mess with me?”

Josie had already gotten out of the car. She confronted Scar directly, one hand behind her back, gripping a knife.

“It’s me, Scar. Don’t you remember?” she asked with a gentle smile on her face.

“Mrs. Carter?” he exclaimed, partly driven by guilt and partly by surprise.

“I wanted to catch up on old times. Why did you run?” Josie walked over, patted his shoulder, and moved behind him. “Didn’t your boss tell you I was back?”

“My boss? You mean Robyn? He’s-”

“Shut up!” Josie suddenly drew her knife, pressing it against his neck with one hand restraining him. Her grip was incredibly strong.

Scar was forced to tilt his head back, but he wasn’t scared. “Mrs. Carter, you chose the wrong place to confront me!”

As soon as these words were uttered, several undercover bodyguards emerged from a nearby location, each of them equipped with weapons.

“Please don’t fret,” Josie said, chuckling softly. “There’s no need to be anxious. I simply wish to inquire about a few matters.”
