Sophia was amused. Did Lily still think she would still believe her?
Lily must have some ulterior motives.
"I'm not inviting you only, Sophia. I also called Drake, Baron, Emma, Aria, and Paul. Sophia, come back
home with them, please."
"It depends."
Sophia ended the call.
She planned to call Drake, but Drake phoned her before she did it. It seemed as if they had a telepathic
understanding.
They both wanted to discuss Lily's invitation.
"Sophia, do you want to go there? If not, we won't show up."
Warmth flooded Sophia's heart. She knew that Drake had done it for her sake. Yet she, too, wanted to
do something for his good.
"How about you, Drake? I was about to ask you the same thing. If you don't want to go, let's go home."
Baron, Emma, Aria, and Paul would follow them.
From Paul's point of view, it was the first time Lily had ever invited him, and he found it difficult to refuse
her.
Drake knew that Lily had thought of it before inviting Paul.
"Let's go, then. I want to see what she can do."
Sophia agreed, "OK. Let's go."
In the evening, the guests arrived together at the Riley Manor.
They did not return even once after the Old Riley's death. If Lily had not called them, none of them
would have returned.
Lillie smiled broadly at the sight of them.
"Finally, here you came. I wondered if you were mad at me for what I'd done before and would never
come home."
Emma beamed at her. "What are you talking about, Lily? This is not my home. I have been divorced
from Baron for many years. We have no plans to remarry either. You called your family for a family
gathering. Why did you ask me over?"
"Emma, you must be kidding. I haven't been home for long, but I could see Baron and you still loved
each other. You were disgusted by Olivia, but she's dead, right? Life is short. Why did you not remarry?
We will still be family."
"Lily, do you really consider us your family?"
Lily was taken aback. She sighed, "I know I've been too extreme for my son's matter. After thinking
about it in the past few weeks, I admit it's all my fault. Now we have a gathering. I'll apologize to Sophia
in your presence."
Then she was about to apologize to Sophia, but Emma stopped her, "Lily, stop being so hypocritical.
Since that incident, many people have blamed Sophia. She used legal means to protect herself, but
others were already prejudiced by the incident. Do you know how brave she needs to be to confront
those difficulties?"
Lily could tell that Emma was prepared. Earlier, she made no remark, but it didn't mean she was a
coward. She finally took the opportunity to speak her mind.
After Lily and Emma married into the Riley family, they were like sisters as both were quiet and good.
Emma had never been so aggressive, as far as Lily was concerned. In defence of her daughter-in-law,
however, she made vehement remarks.
"You are right, Emma. I used to be so inconsiderate. I'll apologize to Sophia in a press conference
later."
"No need," Sophia refused.
Rashad was scheming and hypocritical. Sophia believed he had learned it from his mother. If Lilly
makes any more statements in the press conference, she will mislead others into misinterpreting the
relationship between Sophia and Rashad, which was the last thing Sophia wanted to happen.
"Sophia, no matter what I do, you won't forgive me, right?" Lily sobbed and looked heartbroken.
However, she pretended to be aggrieved.
Rashad happened to return home. Seeing his mother weeping, he scowled deeply and trotted over.
"Who bullied you, Mom?"
Sophia rolled her eyes and confirmed that Rashad had learned to be hypocritical from his mother. Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.
"No. No one ever bullied me. It was my bad. Sophia's right. Don't blame her.
Emma looked disdainfully at Lily. She did not expect Lily to play the victim in the presence of
everybody.
Rashad looked at Sophia. Lily stopped him when he was about to speak, "No, Rashad. Sophia was
right. Don't blame her."
Rashad seemed to understand what she meant. Staring at Sophia, he said, "Sophia, I guess my
mother tried apologizing to you, but you disagreed. I can understand. You must blame us after that
event. My mother has truly repented of it. Please forgive her for my sake."
"Firstly," Sophia replied without showing kindness, "I cannot let go of this matter. Do not waste your
time and energy. Besides, if you stick on this matter, I will leave here immediately."
"Secondly, Rashad, who do you think you are? Why should I forgive her for your sake? Besides, you
and your mother are so capable. Even if I want to get even with you, I cannot win against you, can I?"
"Sophia, you..."
Lily looked at Sophia and wept more loudly.
Sophia rolled her eyes. "It seems I shouldn't have been here. Drake, I'm going home now."
"Wait for us! Do you want to leave Bonnie and me here?"
Emma echoed, "Sophia, we'll go with you. I can't stay here any longer."
Baron followed them without hesitation.
Aria snorted before leaving. Paul awkwardly laid down his gifts.
"Thank you for your kindness, Ma'ma. I am afraid I shall not be able to stay here for dinner. See you."
Then he hurried after the others.
Lily stopped weeping, looking annoyed. She tried her best to gather them all. She did not expect,
however, that Sophia would react violently and leave.
Not to mention Sophia, Drake, and others followed her to leave without showing any respect to Lily.
"They said they had accepted me. Look what they've done!"
Lily gazed darkly at their receding figures, her eyes full of hatred.
"Mom, the minute we left the Riley family, you should have expected that they would never see us as
family if we returned again."
Lily sneered, "So what? They are now losers. They are no match for you!"
