Mr. Thompson

CHAPTER 24

  1. Thompson, Please Be Gentle

Chapter 24 Mr Thompson’s Madness.

Olivia’s Instagram had this eye–catching photo.

In a dimly lit room, Jessie looked all relaxed, lounging on a plush sofa, while a cute guy in white kneeled beside her, feeding her grapes.

That picture nearly made Chase smash Samuel’s phone.

“Go to the Sugar Boy Club.”

The atmosphere in the car turned icy as Chase couldn’t get the image of that guy in white out of his head.

He knew Jessie couldn’t resist him when he wore a white shirt. Sometimes, she’d even draw him in his younger days wearing a white shirt. In that instant, Chase realised he didn’t want to divorce her!

Not only did he not want a divorce, but he even wanted to keep her by his side forever, making her suffer every day as atonement for Peter.

Samuel sat stiffly in the car and dared not even breathe heavily in the car. They couldn’t quite figure it out, either. Despite Chase’s willingness to accommodate Linda’s every request over the past two years, they couldn’t sense any real affection from him towards her.

Instead, no matter how much he ignored Jessie, they felt she was the one he truly cared about.

Sometimes, love ran so deep that it turned into hate. Blinded by his resentment, Chase was willing to do anything to hurt her.

When Chase rushed to the Sugar Boy Club, there was no sign of those two anymore. Jessie had taken the drunken and frenzied Olivia back home half an hour earlier, leaving him with no luck in finding them.

Despite searching several places, Chase couldn’t find Jessie. Samuel even checked all the hotels in the city, but there was no sign of her.

“Sir, Madam probably arranged accommodation in advance. If she didn’t go through an agent for a rental, it might take some time to locate.”

soon as she got the money

“Find her. Turn the city upside down if you have to.”

The silver lining was that Jessie hadn’t brought any guys. The guy who had entertained her before was now tied up and kneeling in front of him.

Chase lit up a cigar and, amidst the swirling smoke, gave the two trembling men a cold stare. “Look at me.”

The two men hadn’t expected to get involved with such a big shot. They shook uncontrollably as they replied with trembling voices, “M–Mr. Thompson.”

“Did you touch her?”

“N–No, sir. The lady didn’t want anyone touching her. She kept her distance from us the whole time. She only had two drinks before leaving with her friend.”

Chase smirked, leaning down to lift the chin of one of the men for a closer look. The young man wore heavy makeup and was drenched in perfume, which made Chase scrunch his nose. “She let you feed her grapes looking like that.”

The young man was close to tears, and in the next instant, Chase’s tone turned merciless. “Chop off his fingers.”

“Mr. Thompson, please spare me!

The young guy never imagined that just giving a grape to a customer would lead to his fingers being chopped off. He pleaded for mercy, but nobody dared to go against Chase’s orders.

Before long, he was dragged outside, and shortly after, a bloody finger was presented to Chase.

“Throw it away. Feed it to the dogs!” Chase said it with disgust.

Chase didn’t pay any more attention to the two guys. He just drove around aimlessly. Jessie had no place to crash in this city anymore. Where would she go

Since Peter was sent to the ICU, she didn’t need to stay at the hospital either. Her phone was off, and Chase searched every place they had been to before.

Finally, he returned to their wedding suite. That night, he only stayed for a

moment before leaving. It had been a long time since he had been there.

The room was now empty, with only some cold furniture remaining. All traces of life had been cleaned up.

She used to place fresh flowers on the dining table every day, but now the vase itself is nowhere to be found.

In the cold and empty master bedroom, their wedding photos had all her pictures cropped out, leaving only him alone, hanging there, looking eerie and lonely.

All the high–end, branded clothes he had bought for her remained untouched in the Summers family’s bankruptcy aftermath. She only took the cheap stuff from the street stalls.

The valuable jewellery and designer bags had long been taken away, and even the only valuable diamond ring had been returned to him a while ago.

In the bathroom, her toothbrush, cup, and towels were all gone. Only his electric toothbrush for couples hung there all by itself on the shelf.

Chase hurried to the nursery, which was Jessie’s sanctuary.

He didn’t even notice his palms were sweating. With a click, the door opened, and he stood there, looking at the empty nursery.

In that instant, Chase felt a chill down his spine.

She had cut off all ties with him completely.

“Don’t worry, Mr. Thompson. I’ve checked all airlines and bus companies, and there’s no sign of Ms. Summers booking a ticket. Her father is still in the hospital, so she won’t leave,” Samuel reassured.

That’s when it hit Chase. Even though he could easily deal with Peter, he hadn’t laid a finger on him. Maybe deep down, he knew Peter was the last straw for Jessie.

As long as Peter stayed alive, she’d remain under his control.

“Find her and bring her back.”

“Got it.”

Lying on the bed in the master bedroom, Chase couldn’t shake off the feeling of restlessness.

He knew it had nothing to do with Jessie, but he just found it hard to get over this emotional hurdle.

Whenever he saw her looking happy, it reminded him of his poor sister. Being Peter’s daughter, she had her share of burdens.

He loved her madly, yet at the same time, he also had a deep resentment towards her, simultaneously tormenting her to relieve the anger brewing inside him.

Maybe he should consider a different form of punishment.
