Chapter 54 –
I can’t find Lily anywhere.
Cayden
Lily looked really hurt when I apologised to the women. I know that she was thinking about why I didn’t listen to her own side of the story before I reacted like that.
What could I do? They were already saying really bad things to her already and I knew that if I didn’t interfere and apologise on her behalf, then they would start thinking about so many things and I’m sure that the hatred that they already have for her would increase.
The women looked a little bit satisfied after I apologised to them and I reluctantly looked back at Lily. The hurt was still visible on her face and I cleared my throat in a really awkward way because of the situation.
“Come on, let’s go.” I said to Lily and she looked away from me without saying anything. I could see that she was really angry, but I couldn’t say anything to her at that moment, I just wanted us to bid everyone goodbye and just leave. I knew that we were going to solve it when we got to the hotel.
“You heard me, Lily. Come on, let’s go and bid everyone goodbye and leave. That’d be good for the both of us.” I knew that what I said sounded like a threat, but I just had to say it, so Lily would listen to me.
Lily did the opposite of what I said and she walked past me, her shoulder brushing against mine as she walked past me. I turned and I watched her leave without even saying anything to me or even anyone. She didn’t utter any word of goodbye to anyone and I started feeling a little bit awkward because now I had to make everyone think that everything was fine.
I don’t know why Lily was overreacting, I mean, I just apologised to the women, not like I blamed her for anything. I just can’t wait to get to the hotel, so we will solve this.
I can’t really keep up with the constant awkward moments that we are always having.
I looked back at everyone and a few of them were looking at me, not knowing what to say to me. I slowly walked to them and I rubbed my palms together before saying anything.
“Thank you so much for everything and yeah, the dinner too. We will see you all later. Thank you once again and goodbye.” I carefully said and a good number of them actually replied with smiles and I felt a little bit better.
Before leaving, I stole a glance at my rival and before he had the chance to say anything, I left the hall instantly to meet Lily. I was sure that she was either waiting for me at the car or at the hotel, but I knew that she was definitely going to be at the car because how else will she get to the hotel?
I got out of the dinner hall and I started walking to my car very fast. I didn’t want to keep Lily standing.
However, the closer I got to the car, the more I realised that nobody was actually standing beside my car.
I walked faster to the car and I checked the other side of it to see if she was standing there. She wasn’t.
I quickly got inside the car and I instantly put it on. Anyone that saw me at that moment, would think that I was really looked put together, not knowing that I was a little bit scared.
I didn’t know where Lily was or where she even went, so the fact that I was scared was a bit justified.
I increased the speed of my car, ignoring the constant screams from my fellow drivers and passers-by too.
While I was driving, only one thing, more like a name, was ringing in my head; Lily.
If she wasn’t in my car and she wasn’t at the dinner hall, then she would definitely be at the hotel. Right?
Who am I kidding? I wasn’t even sure myself if she was at the hotel, but a huge part of me was telling me otherwise, that she was at the hotel.
In less than nine minutes, I was trying to park my car in the hotel’s parking lot. The hotel was really packed with so many cars, so getting a place to park was so hard
After so many trials and shouts from me to some drivers, I finally succeeded in getting a parking spot. When I was sure that my car was properly parked and good, I hurried out of it and I made sure that it was kicked before I left.
I started going inside the hotel and when I started feeling really weird, I increased my pace.
I didn’t return the brief greeting of the receptionist because I didn’t even pay attention to it, even though I inwardly apologised to her and I hurried into the elevator because of how anxious I was.
It seemed like the elevator was going really slow and I hit the side of it for it to go really fast. It didn’t. I guess that that’s not how elevators work anyway.Contentt bel0ngs to N0ve/lDrâ/ma.O(r)g!
I was happy that I was the only one in it because if I wasn’t, then the people that would have been in it, would probably be looking at me like a mad man right now because of how I was pacing around it.
The elevator finally got to my floor and I started walking really fast to our room. I didn’t even realise that I was silently praying that she would be there, sitting angrily, with her hands crossed against her rising and falling chest.
When I got to our room, I scanned the room for a while before sliding the key at the door. I was sure that she had her own key, so if she came to the room, then she would have gone inside.
When the door opened, I opened it widely and my fear was confirmed.
Lily wasn’t in the room.
I checked every part of the room and I didn’t see her.
My heart suddenly started racing and for the first time that day, I was super scared. So scared.
I brought out my phone and I started calling her phone. She didn’t pick.
I called her again and it was the same thing. She didn’t pick.
I cleaned the beams of sweat that were starting to gather on my forehead before I called her for the third time.
She still didn’t pick.
I knew that I was in for something then. Something bad.
