Chapter 276
Chapter 276
"Dead......"
Although Coralie had this wild guess before, when Yohan told her the truth, she realized that she could
not accept it at all.
"Corrie, you are my Corrie. You will no longer belong to anyone else's in the future," Yohan said.
He stood beside Coralie's bed and looked at her affectionately. He wanted to hold Coralie's hand, but
she moved her hands away from him.
"Yohan, if he's dead, I can marry you. However, I won't forgive you for the rest of my life, because you
would be responsible for his death," Coralie stated.
She turned her face away and didn't want to look at Yohan.
She knew that Yohan had a million ways to get them married but it wasn't because of how much he
loved her. Perhaps, he once loved her and prepared so many things in order to marry her. However, as
time went by, Yohan's love for her turned into something else. He simply wanted results for his hard
work. If this result could not be achieved, he would never give up.
If Skylar died, Coralie would be more worried about Hendric.
What about Hendric? The Holland family would definitely not accept him. She had to do everything she
could to take Hendric with her.
"I'm responsible for it? It's he who was being a busybody. It doesn't matter if you don't forgive me or
not, I just want you to be my wife," Yohan said.
After that, he stood beside Coralie's bed for a long time. He left after figuring out that she didn't plan to
look at him at all.
Before he left, he didn't forget to lock the door.
Coralie laid down on the bed in sorrow and everything in front of her was blurred.
She still couldn't believe that Skylar was dead. How could she believe that Skylar was dead?
"No, no."
Coralie curled up on the bed and repeated those words over and over again.
As if it was an obsession.
She couldn't fall asleep that night and just watched the sun rise little by little. At 6 a.m., the servants
opened the door and a few of them brought in a huge wedding dress.
The wedding dress was on a model. It was a pure white wedding dress, exactly like the one previously
shown by the designer.
It was just like a princess's dress in a fairy tale.
"Madam Coralie, it's time to wake up," one of the servants told her by her bed.
Coralie opened her eyes but didn't move at all. Actually, she was exhausted but couldn't fall asleep.
Even until the servants came in, she still couldn't move.
"Young Master Leo has ordered it. Madam Coralie, if you don't cooperate, then..."
A servant came in and spoke. Before she could finish her words, the other servants understood what
she meant.
The next second, Coralie was brought to the dressing table by three servants. Her head was heavy and
she felt dizzy sitting there. Her eyes were sore due to the lack of sleep. The servants completely
ignored that she was in a bad state, took off her clothes and put the wedding gown on her.
Just a moment later, the wedding gown was fitted on her.
Coralie sat in front of the dressing table. This was the first time that she wore a wedding gown.
When she married Howard, everything was simple and they didn't even rent a wedding dress. Their
wedding was a destination wedding.
"You look so beautiful, Madam."
From that day onwards, the servants began to call her Madam.
She was exhausted, uncomfortable, and dizzy. She had no energy left to argue with the servants.
There was a makeup artist there to help Coralie with her makeup. However, her complexion was bad
and the dark circles couldn't be covered. Even with the makeup artist's skills, she could only try her
best to make Coralie look better.
After the makeup, a servant put on a necklace for her.
The wedding dress and jewelry were all extremely expensive.
Just as Coralie thought that all the procedures had ended, a servant squatted down and wanted to put
golden fetters around her ankles...
"I'm not wearing that!" Coralie shouted.
She was hit by flashbacks of nightmares when she saw the fetters.
She immediately withdrew her foot and tried to avoid it. "Ask Yohan to come and see me and tell him
that I won't wear that!" She demanded.
"Madam, don't make things difficult for us. We dare not disobey Young Master's orders."
The servant looked troubled.
"I won't wear it. If you put it on me, I won't go to the wedding today."
Coralie strongly refused.
"Madam, Young Master Leo mentioned that you'll just be wearing the fetters, so you won't really be
affected," one of the servants said.
"Whether it'll affect me or not is not for him to decide!" Coralie exclaimed.
She used to wear it in the past because she promised Yohan that she would exchange Skylar's life with
her own. At this moment, when no one knew if Skylar was alive or dead, everything was different. She
didn't want to humiliate herself anymore.
This was the only way that she could regain her status in the future.
"This..."
The servants were put in a difficult situation.
Everyone just stood there not knowing what to do. Someone even called Yohan to ask.
At this moment, Lydia came into the room. She seemed to have overheard a little from outside. "Don't
wear that. I have the final say to it," she said as she walked in.
The servants saw that it was Lydia's order and felt relieved. They immediately kept the fetters away.
"Lydia, thank you," Coralie said.
It was obvious that Coralie had to express her gratitude because Lydia had helped her.
"Hey, haven't you changed the way you address me?" Lydia asked.
She pretended to be angry when she heard that Coralie was still calling her by her first name, instead
of Mother.
"Let's wait until the wedding is over," Coralie replied.
It wasn't that she didn't want to accept Lydia as her mother-in-law. It was heaven and earth between
Lydia and Lillian.
However, she didn't want to accept Yohan. Perhaps, she wouldn't give up until the very last moment.
Lydia knew what Coralie was thinking. She stood next to Coralie and said, "I know you are not willing
to, but Yohan really likes you. He just doesn't know how to express his feelings."
"Lydia, I see Yohan as nothing more than my childhood playmate. I'm afraid that the level of affection
he has towards me was just the result of his own misunderstanding," Coralie expressed.
"Coralie, about marriage, not everyone would be able to marry the person they like. Most marriages
end in regret," Lydia explained.
Coralie knew what she meant by that.
Lydia wanted to relay that even though Coralie didn't like Yohan, however, Yohan loved her. The other
aspects seemed alright. In her opinion, this would be a good marriage.
Coralie couldn't help but start to doubt if this was the relationship that Lydia had with Yohan's
stepfather.
"Lydia, I understand," Coralie said.
Coralie stood up in front of Lydia. The servants knew that she was weak and went to support her.
"Coralie, when you were young, Yohan was already talking about marrying you. I've already assumed
that you'll be my daughter-in-law since you two were young, so let me know if Yohan treats you badly in
the future."
Lydia held on to Coralie and said.
"Thank you, Lydia," Coralie said.
She almost couldn't balance herself and was extremely dizzy. Her vision was almost pitch black.
Lydia could tell that Coralie didn't want to talk to her. She didn't want to make a fool of herself so she
left.
Coralie almost fell down after Lydia left.
She was supported by the servants and got into the car and then the rest of the journey was on a
seaplane. When they were about to disembark, it was only then did she learn that Yohan had arranged Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.
for their wedding to be held on an island next to S City.
Coralie got off the plane and saw flowers. The pink balloons and red carpet were rolled out all the way
into the island. Everything seemed like a fairy tale.
