Chapter 175
Chapter 175
Anthony didn't expect that Skylar would be next to his car. He pushed Evelyn away and tidied up his
clothes.
When Evelyn looked up, she was frightened to see Skylar standing by the window. She quickly
buttoned up her blouse.
About a minute later, Anthony rolled the window down, embarrassed. "Why are you here?"
Skylar raised his chin slightly and pointed to the car not far away, "Coincidentally, my car is stopped in
front of you. I've been watching you for a long time."
Anthony used to be a strict father in front of Skylar. However, he didn't know how to continue wielding
his strict image after such incident.
"All right, let's go back and talk about it later."
Anthony said.
Now that Skylar had such a good opportunity, he wanted to take it slow. Instead, he said leisurely,
"Well, okay, see you in the company tomorrow. By the way, I took a video just now."
After that, he took a glance at Evelyn, who was blushing, and then returned to his car.
"How did it go?" Harvey asked.
Harvey witnessed the scandalous behaviour. He knew that Anthony had been oppressing Skylar. Now
that such a thing was revealed, he was considered thoroughly discredited.
"It's okay. I lied to him that I took a video."
Skylar explained.
"By the way, I think there's someone who might know more about Valerie's car accident in the past."
Harvey said.
"Who?" Skylar asked.
"Franklin Moore."
Upon hearing that name, Skylar looked at Harvey with confusion.
Harvey said as he recalled, "Back then, Franklin was obsessed with Valerie. At that time, Valerie
suddenly decided to go abroad. He swore to go abroad with her at first, but in less than two days, it
was as if he had changed into another person. He didn't mention Valerie anymore but took a turn in
dating celebrities."
Hearing what he said, Skylar also felt that it happened before.
Back then, everyone knew that Franklin had feelings for Valerie. He had threatened Skylar more than a
dozen times. However, after Valerie went abroad, he acted as if he had never known her.
......
The next day, Skylar arrived at Skyton Corporation early in the morning.
Anthony had been waiting there, in a suit and leather shoes, sitting in the president's seat.
At first, Evelyn was standing aside. When she saw Skylar coming in, she closed the door and went out.
"Let's get straight to the point. I suspect that what happened to Coralie this time has something to do
with Valerie. It's impossible for me to marry her. As for other things, I can only take things one step at a
time."
Seeing that Evelyn had left, Skylar got straight to the point.
Now that he found out Anthony's affair, he had more say in their transactional relationship.
"Skylar, I told you before. You are the president of a company. You should take the long view. Don't
prioritize feelings, it's all temporary."
At that moment, Anthony still tried to convince Skylar.
Skylar sat on his desk and looked at Anthony with his head tilted, "I'm not going to marry her."
His expression was full of certainty.
"Skylar, don't be reckless. Even when Skyton Corporation would remain standing and you would not
starve, but when changes befell the Holland family, you would have to lay off employees. They have
their responsibilities to cater to. They have houses and car loans, living expenses and so on. You can't
cast them aside because of your wayward behavior!"
In fact, Skylar admitted that what Anthony said was right.
If Grandmother Holland really passed away, stocks market would plummet, other incidents would arise
too. There must be other companies eyeing them amid the commotion. If Skylar had a strong backer,
he could stabilize his company, but if not...
A lot of things would be thrown into the unknown.
"Except for marriage, I can consider anything else." Skylar looked at Anthony, "However, don't expect
me to give in on this matter."
Anthony did not expect Skylar to be so stubborn.
"President Holland, your coffee."
Valerie pushed the door open and walked in. She put a cup of coffee on the table. Sensing that the
atmosphere was awkward, she left without saying anything more.
Skylar took a sip of the coffee and found that it had gone cold...
It's not freshly brewed.
Skylar's guess was right. In fact, Valerie was going to send coffee when Skylar first came in.
Unexpectedly, she overheard the conversation between Skylar and Anthony. Thus, she did not come
in.
Seeing Valerie come out of the office, Evelyn, who was outside, said sarcastically, "I thought you were
very capable, but now it seems that you're just so-so."
"You're just a mistress. How dare you compare yourself to me?"
Valerie looked at Evelyn and retorted.
"Oh, if I remember correctly, President Holland hasn't divorced his wife yet."
Evelyn and Valerie had not been on good terms ever since they met.
"So what?" Valerie refuted, "There's nothing that I can't get. Brother Skylar only lost his judgement for
now, he will soon come back to me."
Valerie had been popular since she was a child. She was good at pretending, and she knew how to
tackle other people's preferences.
She was lost a few days ago. However, she managed to deceive Jasper into hating Coralie and make
him fell irredeemably in love with her, Valerie regained her confidence.
Evelyn looked at her, "You're not doing this out of a fit of pique, are you?"
Evelyn and Valerie were polar opposite. Evelyn came from a destitute family so she only valued money.
"I've loved him for more than ten years. Why should I let others take him away?"
In Valerie's point of view, Skylar was her man. Just like her dolls, he was destined to be hers. She could
discard him, but others should never take him away!
"I don't understand rich people like you."
Evelyn sat in her seat and said as she touched up her makeup.
Soon, Skylar came out from the president's office. He glanced at Valerie and left without saying
anything.
Anthony was helping him run the company. Skylar was not worried about it.
Seeing Skylar leave, Valerie knew that he must be going to see Coralie. NôvelDrama.Org owns this text.
Her eyes flashed with anger. She took out her mobile phone from her bag and rushed to the bathroom.
When the door was locked, she made a phone call. She began to shout minutes after the line was
connected, "Your people are unreliable! He didn't manage to take pictures and even got caught!
They're useless!"
The person on the other end of the line did not get angry listening to her reproach. Instead, the person
waited for Valerie to finish her words before saying in broken English, "Miss Rae, at least we're working
on it. You haven't given us what you promised at all."
Hearing that, Valerie's hand, which was holding her mobile phone, was trembling. She gritted her teeth
and said, "Why are you in such a hurry! I've only been in the company for less than a year. How would
the Holland group give such an important information to me?"
