Wooing My Ex-Wife

Chapter 563 Do You Not Hate Her

Chapter 563 Do You Not Hate Her

“You have no idea how strict Mr. Treyton is about that, Gwendolyn! Not only am I forced to do lots of exercises every night, but he also punishes me for every mistake that I make! I’ve never experienced anything like this while growing up at the orphanage!” Jennifer exclaimed with a pout.

Gwendolyn patted her on the head. “Isn’t this a good thing, though? You should be glad that you found yourself a boyfriend who cares a lot about you. Now, you’ll be able to experience the fatherly love that you never had!”

Jennifer simply pouted without saying a word.

“I can tell that Treyton is putting a lot of effort into this. You two used to love each other very much, and he actually blames himself for your memory loss. I hope you’ll try to accept him again if possible. Even if you can’t, at least tell him about it as soon as possible,” Gwendolyn continued.

Jennifer twiddled her fingers as she mumbled, “Well, it’s not so bad that I have to break up with him… I’m just not used to such strictness after living freely for so long. I’m trying to get used to it little by little.”

“Take your time, Jennifer. There’s no need to rush it,” Gwendolyn said.

Jennifer nodded. “You told me that I have been dating him for four years. Could you tell me more about our relationship? I’m rather curious about it. Who knows? I might just be able to recall something.”

Of course, Gwendolyn had no reason to say no to that

She then told Jennifer everything about her relationship with Treyton, including how they grew close and the obstacles they encountered. She even told Jennifer all the funny things they experienced throughout the relationship.

While Jennifer did pay full attention to what Gwendolyn was saying, she couldn’t seem to recall any of those memories.

Noticing the depressed look on her face, Gwendolyn brought her over to the players‘ training area and watched them play a practice match.

The two girls had such a great time watching the game that whatever unpleasant emotions they had earlier were gone completely.

Just like that, two hours had gone by before they even realized it. Recently, Gwendolyn would spend the day managing the e–sports club’s investments and head back to Harris Group for a meeting two hours before it was time to get off work. All content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.

Having visited Jennifer at work, Gwendolyn got into her car and was about to head over to Harris Group.

She had yet to start the engine when her phone rang all of a sudden.

Noticing that it was a call from Leif, Gwendolyn tensed up and quickly answered the phone.

“Ms. Annie entered the villa about two minutes ago. She is currently standing at the entrance of the ancestral hall”

Heh.……. The fish finally takes the bait after a few days of waiting.

“Just keep an eye on her from afar. Do not alert her.”

“Understood, Ms. Harris. She doesn’t seem to be leaving anytime soon. In fact, it seems as though she wants to enter the ancestral hall. Shall I let her in?”

“Let her in,” Gwendolyn said as she would not be able to get the answer she was looking for otherwise.

After getting off the phone, she started the car and headed straight for Mount Tranquil.

Annie was peeking into the ancestral hall through the crack in the door.

Asher could be seen kneeling before a coffee table and copying the scriptures.

From time to time, the sounds of his coughing would echo throughout the ancestral hall.

After consecutive days of kneeling from the afternoon till the next morning, his knees were aching badly.

Even so, Asher continued to kneel and would only massage his knees from time to time when the pain got

Too severe.

Annie opened the door to the ancestral hall and entered slowly.

Asher paused when he heard the clacking of high heels on the floor behind him, only to continue writing a few seconds later.

Annie walked up to him and crouched down beside him before asking. “You’re Ms. Harris‘ brother, aren’t you? Why would she be so cruel to you?”

Asher simply ignored her and continued writing.

“I know that it’s hardly appropriate for an outsider like myself to get involved, but I feel bad for I see you suffering like this,” Annie added with a sigh, but Asher continued to ignore her.

“I heard Ms. Harris has an illegitimate sister. Could this be about her? Is that why Ms. Harris is taking her anger out on you, Mr. Asher?” Annie went on.

Asher finally paused and responded by shooting her an icy–cold glare.

Although he had resigned from his positions at the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Ministry of Aviation, Asher still maintained his domineering and authoritative aura. A single gaze from him was enough to make anyone shake in their boots, but Annie pressed on anyway. The fact that Ms. Harris is doing this to you shows that she doesn’t respect you as her brother. Do you not hate her at all, Mr. Asher?”

Gwendolyn, who was standing outside the ancestral hall, could hear everything Annie said.
