Chapter 254
A few boys made a beeline for Lemira.

Just then, the teacher walked in, "Class is starting, everyone back to your seats."
Susanna was visibly irked but didn't dare cause a scene in front of the teacher, fearing the repercussions would reach her home and she'd get an earful.
Instead, Susanna opted to sit right behind Lemira, threatened in a subdued voice, "Just wait till class is over, you're done for."
Evelina, seated next to Susanna, stared at Lemira's back, her eyes brimming with spite.
Finally, a chance to humiliate Lemira. She'd like to see how she wiggled her way out of this one!
As the teacher began the lecture, the rest of the students dutifully flipped open their textbooks. Lemira, however, pulled out her phone, intent on coding a little app to get back at her detractors online. She wasn't someone who could be easily targeted without consequence. Susanna, with her eagle eyes, caught Lemira in the act and promptly told the teacher, "Lemira didn't even bring her textbook, and she's playing on her phone!"
Lemira stashed her phone away.
Seeing Lemira's desk devoid of the required textbook, the teacher was displeased, "Do you have an issue with my class?"
"No, I just forgot it this time, sorry," Lemira apologized directly without a fight.
Evelina saw an opportunity and chimed in, "Lemira, you've always acted as if the rules don't apply to you because you're smart, but bringing your textbook is a basic form of respect for the teacher."
Susanna sneered, "Attending class without your textbook, you're so confident in yourself, huh? If we all followed your example, it'd ruin the positive culture we have here at school!"
The teacher reckoned it was
unacceptable, "Since you're so confident, Lemira, why don't you solve the problem I just put up? It might be a bit tough for you, but I'd like to hear your thoughts."
Lemira glanced at the problem displayed on the screen. She stood up, walked to the front, and started to outline her solution on the board.
Susanna couldn't help but mock, "Tsk, quite bold of you. You think you can solve such a difficult problem on your first day?"
Susanna, accustomed to a
privileged education, immediately recognized that the problem wasn't meant for a newbie. It involved
coding, something a freshman wouldn't have learned yet.
Evelina echoed, "Lemira, there's no shame in admitting you don't know. Don't push yourself, it's not that embarrassing."
Lemira, one hand in her pocket, ignored the constant nagging from the duo. She remained calm, her handwriting on the board clear and strong.
The teacher initially thought Lemira was being overly arrogant by actually attempting to solve the problem.
But when the solution was laid out, the teacher's expression changed significantly. How could this be?
The problem was intended for the final exam, and here was Lemira just starting her first class, solving it unexpectedly and the answer was correct. It was utterly unbelievable.
After finishing, Lemira placed the chalk down, "I'm done."
Susanna gloated, "Did she just scribble down any random code?"
The teacher shook her head, "Lemira's solution is correct. This was actually a question from our finals."
Was Lemira really that brilliant? To think she knew the answer without even starting the course.
Holding resentment, Evelina uttered, "Lemira, sure you have a great memory, able to remember the answer just at a glimpse, but that doesn't mean you can cheat."
How could Lemira possibly know the answer? She must have memorized it beforehand.
