Under My Boss’ Table

Chapter 26 Anger the beast

I kept working on the project as if it belonged only to me and didn’t need any recommendations from my boss. I really didn’t need them. I was beginning to understand a lot in my position. And I was glad of that.

Edward was the first to break down.

He wrote me a short letter to my work email.

“Elvira, I would like to know the content of the plan for the further development of the project. If it’s not difficult for you, come and see me after lunch.”

I smiled. The game had started…

I went to see him, of course, not after lunch. I deliberately went to my home first and spent time there. Then Edward caught me almost on the threshold of the office.

“I’ve been waiting a long time for you to discuss a work issue, and I don’t know where you have been.” He hissed through his teeth when he saw me.

I smiled kindly, hoping my smile would annoy him, and replied:

“There was a note on my desk.”

“I don’t have time to rummage through your table.” He said. I shrugged and walked into his office.

Edward closed the door.

I felt emotions boil in him. It was good…

“Before we start, I’d like to clarify.” He began. “I understand how difficult it is for you after my decision… But you must understand that emotions have no place in a career.”

I laughed:

“No, I have to make it clear. I realized that you were right, we should forget about everything that happened. There was nothing interesting to die for. So no emotion will interfere with our career!”

Edward looked at me suspiciously. Thinking…

“Tell me what you’re doing?” He asked softly. “Do you think I’ll buy your performance?”

I sighed and just with a bored look I began to look at the clouds floating in the sky. Edward’s window was a little smaller than mine…

“Elvira, I’m talking to you.” he said angrily.

“You were right.” I said slowly. “I’m not interested in you. You do not interest me. There was nothing but sex. If that could be called sex…”

The latter hit the mark. Edward went pale, then instantly appeared in front of me.

“Oh you!…” He grabbed me tightly by the shoulders and shook me like a rag doll. I looked at him in surprise and I almost drowned in those eyes, black with fury…

“It is I who can say these words.” He hissed. “But not you!”

He roughly pushed me to the ground. I, without expecting this, fell to my knees.

“Suck!” He ordered, hastily unbuttoning his fly…

He immediately appeared in front of me, my favorite strong member, which I missed so madly…

I laughed.

But I quickly remembered the rules of my game. I quickly reminded myself how Edward used me solely for sex, how dear to him his crazy wife was. This made me serious and I barely looked up from his penis.

“Take it away. We have to work.” I said quietly to Edward. All content is © N0velDrama.Org.

Oh, the real pleasure was to see his face confused and discouraged!

He was very embarrassed and, at first he hesitated, zipping up his fly. We sat across from each other and started discussing the project. It was quite difficult, I tried not to look at Edward, who was speaking from a distance, and it was clear that he was in the clouds and not thinking about the project at all.

We finished quickly…

The following days passed for me like in a fog. I came to work, immersed myself in the project, and tried not to pay attention to Edward.

It turned out pretty good, despite continual erotic dreams: I was missing a lot of sex. From time to time I had to discuss the project with the boss, but I just imagined that someone else was sitting in front of me and not looking at him.

They say that time heals. To a certain extent, it is so, only the treatment is not standard: the disease itself is not eliminated, but hides deep, deep under the armor. And lurks there until the day you shake it…

Three weeks passed. I was surprised to note that my passion for Edward was hidden in me so deeply that I no longer seemed to feel anything for him.

I lived as if I was seeing everything but did not participate directly in the events. And what happened to me (sexual relations, communication with Edward, Saint Petersburg, the incident on the ship) had gone as far as twenty years back.

It seemed to be rotten.

I once thought that I couldn’t live a day without Edward, couldn’t breathe without him. But no, I could do everything. I could live and breathe easily without him. And my heart beat quietly…

“Finally, we found a new employee.” With a sigh, Alexandra sank into a chair next to me. During these weeks I managed to make friends with her. Surprisingly, she turned out to be a very suitable and interesting girl. We talked about Edward with her only once, and that was for me to inform her that I had avoided him for a long time.

“What other employee?” I asked, trying to hide my lack of interest, and threw some papers in the trash. The project had not worked well. Hell!

“Well, to your previous position.” expressed Alexandra. “We have been looking for someone who can replace you there. She will start work tomorrow.”

“Interesting.” The words drawled without interest. The purest truth.

“Elvira, come see me.” A nervous Edward looked towards my office and after what he said he disappeared.

“What happens?” Alexandra chuckled. I smiled slightly, shrugged and followed him.

In his office, without a word, he pointed a finger at his monitor. There was a regular meeting on Skype. I greeted the participants and began to listen…

It turned out that the case got a little worse. Budget problems started and the project had to be completed as soon as possible. This would require spending more time in the office, working overtime…

“Naturally, this will all pay off.” He emphasized at the meeting.

I frowned. The prospect of being alone with Edward didn’t please me at all.

The next day, finally, the excitement began in the office: a new employee appeared. Her appearance caused a stir among many, and it was not surprising! The girl was very beautiful, intelligent and good spirited.

Her lush auburn curls favorably highlighted her sleek face, and her long-lashed eyes took up almost half of her. Her voice was so attractive, somehow intelligent, that even I was involuntarily fascinated by it. And the figure! I’ve probably never seen a more feminine figure. She wasn’t skinny, no, a little full in the body. But at the same time, she didn’t seem too full, but more palatable… God, where did they get her?

“My name is Anna.” She introduced herself and smiled, exposing her dimples on her cheeks.

Although I liked her, I stayed away from her. I didn’t know why…

I didn’t want to know what Edward’s reaction to her would be. I just locked myself in my office and tried to immerse myself in the project, which got worse and worse for me. I had a vague feeling that Anna would do something…

It hadn’t been long since that Skype meeting, and Edward and I honestly stayed at work. But as much as we tried to communicate, in the end we worked separately, in our offices. We did not have a sexual relationship and we did not want to develop a professional relationship.

Sometimes it even took me until nine at night.

“Elvira?” Anna asked sheepishly, frozen in the doorway of my office. I shuddered. “Oh, sorry, I scared you…”

“Anna, come on in.” I couldn’t resist and made a face. I rubbed my eyes like there was sand in them.

“Good.” She encouraged herself. “You feel bad? Do you want me to make coffee or something?”

“Anna, why are you still in the office?” I realized suddenly and looked at her carefully.

For some reason, she blushed deeply.

“Well… I’m still dealing with my instructions and orders…”

“In any case, ask me. I worked with all of this myself. I will help with whatever I can. And coffee, I’d be glad…”

Anna beamed and went to the kitchen. I was thinking, why was she embarrassed? Did she exactly stay in the office for the reason she described? What if… it’s all about Edward?

I shook my head. “So he has nothing to do with it. Remember, Elvira, you don’t care about him!”
