Uncle's Love: My Sweet Little Wife

Chapter 83 She Is Rejecting

Chapter 83 She Is Rejecting

Finally, Eli was stubborn enough to win.

He tried to talk with Kara along the way, but Kara kept her head down. She even ran upstairs as soon

as they returned to the villa.

James was satisfied with her since she was aware of avoiding other guys, but when he looked at Eli,

who was sitting on the sofa, his face cooled down again.

"Will she disturb your life living here?"

Eli spoke with a tone as if Kara was his girl. James frowned and didn't respond.

During dinner, Kara still kept her head down, just eating the dishes near her.

Usually, Kara would be the one who start talking when she was eating with James.

But now, Eli's voice made James sulk when Kara was silent.

"Kara, are you a rabbit? Why are just eating carrots and cabbages?"

Eli was staring at her, with a smile on his face.

Kara looked up in confusion, then she found the two dishes in front of her were made of carrots and

cabbages.

The long-term medication had almost made Kara a vegetarian, and she liked carrots very much. Libby

was such a good cook that no matter in what style she cooked carrots, Kara would like it. Because of

that, carrots had become the main ingredient in Kara's diet.

"I'm not a rabbit." She explained in a powerless voice.

"Of course I know you are not a rabbit, but you should eat some meat." Then Eli delivered her a few

pieces of meat with the public chopsticks.

Kara was dumb.

Kara stared at the meat in her bowl, not knowing how to refuse.

"No talk while eating," James said in a cold voice.

But Eli didn't care. "Come on, we're not eating at the Hemming's. There are not so many rules. Your

cold tone will scare Kara."

Kara was still dumb.

Kara was scared, not by the cold tone of James, but the enthusiasm of Eli.

"Kara, try this." NôvelD(ram)a.ôrg owns this content.

Eli wanted to deliver her some chicken, but Kara moved the bowl away and the chicken fell on the

table.

The atmosphere was awkward.

"Sorry, I, I don't like it very much," Kara apologized in a timid voice.

"It's OK. Just tell me if you don't like it." Eli wanted to clean it for her while Kara still kept her head

down.

James took a glance at Kara, then put down his chopsticks, saying, "I've finished."

Kara put her chopsticks down out of her instinct when she saw James finish.

Usually, they would eat together and finished together.

"Kara, have you got enough?" Eli was puzzled because she had just eaten a little.

"Yes, I have."

Kara was afraid of those who were too enthusiastic because she didn't know how to respond to them.

Realizing that Eli had been staring at her, she felt a little helpless and glanced at James, saying, "Uncle

James, I, I'm going upstairs for my homework."

When Eli noticed Kara's uneasiness, he wondered, "What was she afraid of?"

"Was she not happy living here?"

Kara had been bullied by the Quains, then her father sent her here because he and James are friends.

"You are being so cold. You will scare her." Eli was giving a lecture to James.

"Have you finished? Then I ask the driver to take you home."

Even when James was urging him to go, he went to the sofa and sat down, his eyes glancing at

upstairs.

"Why are you urging me? Let me take a break after dinner."

"Kara is not doing well in her study. I'll go upstairs and help her with it."

"No need."

The dinner had worn out the last patience of James.

"Eli, you should go back and study!"

Eli had been revering James since they were little. Now the cold voice made his fear grow even

stronger.

But when he thought about Kara's helpless face when she went upstairs, he became restless.

Then he went over to James and said, "Kara is a timid girl. You will scare her this way."

James glanced at him without response, walking away.

"If you can't take good care of her, I can help you."

James finally stopped and turned around, his eyes darkening.

"What would your father do if he knew that you are in love now?"

Eli was speechless.

He was exposed. He was wondering, "Have I been so obvious?

"However, it was not difficult for my cousin to see through my thoughts with his sharp eyes.

"When we were little, he always helped me conceal my mistakes. So he wouldn't tell my father about it

today."

"Kara is now the only girl of the Quain family, and everyone in her family was scheming against her.

She is frail, timid, and innocent. She doesn't know the ways of the world. She is like a shy flower who

needs care to blossom."

When Eli thought about how Kara was bullied, his heart was in pain, so he did not notice the change in

James's expression when he said those words to him.

"I know you have promised your friend to take care of her. But sooner or later this villa will have its

hostess, and by that time Kara will become a woman. It will be improper for you to have her here.

"You cannot always take care of her. Please let me replace you when she has become older."

"Leave her alone from now!" James warned him with a cold tone.

While he was shouting in his heart, "How dare you steal her from me?"

Eli felt his hostility, but he didn't know where it came from.

"Please."

"Mason, take him home!"

Mason respectfully extended his hand, guiding Eli to leave.

James returned to his bedroom and took off his tie in frustration. When thought of Eli's vows just now,

he gnashed.

He even wanted to beat him.

After putting on pajamas, he went to the study but didn't see Kara. When he knocked on her door, there

is no response either.

"Libby, where's Kara?" James asked as he went downstairs.

"I didn't see her coming downstairs," Libby answered.

James opened her room with the key, but she wasn't in there. He had become worried and took out his

phone to call her.

He heard the bell immediately, then he followed it along the corridor to the studio.

He kicked the door open, and Kara in the studio was startled.

Then she turned around and asked, "Uncle James, what's going on?"

James was relieved and canceled the call. "What are you drawing?"

She was in the middle of her sketch. It was a realistic potted flower on the balcony.

"Tomorrow is Mr. Master's class. I want to review the techniques that he taught last week." Kara

explained in a low voice.

"Alright."

James narrowed his cold eyes when he found that her face was a little pale.

"Are you feeling alright, Kara?"

"Yes, maybe it was because I opened the window."

A trace of panic flashed through Kara's eyes, but it was quickly concealed by her shaking head.

James stepped in front of her and was about to touch her head, but Kara dodged.

His hand stilled in the air, and this was the very first time that she rejected his approach.
