Twisted Ties of Love

Chapter 93

Chapter 93

It was obviously summer right now, the hottest month of the year, yet Brett was breaking out in a cold sweat, feeling like he's been plunged into icy water.

Amelia went in and directly asked, "How's the situation?"

The doctor looked at her, a bit surprised, "Dr. Amelia, how come you're here?"

"I'm her chief physician, she's in the late stages of stomach cancer."

As Amelia's words sank in, the faces of all medical staff present stiffened. Material © NôvelDrama.Org.

Izabella saw someone push open the door in a daze and shivers.

She listened to the voice that she found very familiar, and it was not until the person got closer that she recognized it's Amelia.

Her dry lips part, waiting for Amelia to come to her before she weakly utters the name, "Amelia."

There was a mist of white forming inside her oxygen mask, the sound was so weak that it was almost inaudible, but Amelia understood what she meant.

"I'm sorry you have to go through this." She knew Izabella was afraid of pain, If she had known such an accident would happen, she should have performed surgery last time.

Amelia lifted Izabella's clothes to perform surgery to stop the bleeding. Her brows furrowed tightly when she discovered numerous injuries on Izabella's body.

Did she have a miscarriage due to domestic violence?

In the face of any situation, Amelia remained as calm and composed as ever, she had a levelheadedness above her age. But upon seeing Izabella like this, a surge of rage swelled in her

chest.

One thing she hated most in her life was domestic violence.

Amelia threw away her chaotic thoughts and focused on the surgery, sweat beading on her forehead.

A nurse wiped her sweat, and Amelia spoke in a deep voice, "Get the person outside to sign a critical illness notice. The patient is in critical condition due to miscarriage, massive bleeding, Rh- negative AB blood type - is that available in the blood bank?"

This blood type is extremely rare. Amelia had been relatively calm, but when Izabella's bleeding just wouldn't stop, she became slightly panicked. To make things worse, her blood type was so rare. "Rh-negative AB blood, we don't have any in our hospital. I just checked the blood bank yesterday," the nurse by her side said urgently. Without blood, Izabella could suffer from excessive blood loss...

Amelia bit her lip, "Call other hospitals quickly and see if they have!"

Two nurses rushed out of the emergency room, one calling other hospitals for the right blood type, while the other handed Brett a critical illness notice to sign.

In a daze, shadows of people floated past Izabella's mind.

The blood beneath her didn't cease to flow, leaving a glaring red trail down her leg, pooling on the operating table.

Brett didn't know what was going on inside and had a feeling of unease. Glancing at the clock, fifteen minutes had already passed.

At this moment, two nurses emerged from the room, one walking towards Brett with a piece of paper in hand.

With his keen eyesight, he quickly read the words "critical illness notice" written on the top.

"How is she? Was the child saved?" he asked.

The nurse was both angry and anxious as she shoved the critical illness notice into his hand and said, "Sign it! The child didn't make it, and your wife is in grave danger!"

Brett's heart skipped wildly, he felt a sudden chill in his veins. Trying to suppress the tremor in his voice, he asked, "What do you mean?"

The nurse took a deep breath, suppressing her anger, and explained, "The patient has lost too much blood now. She has a rare blood type that our hospital doesn't have in stock."

Bleeding heavily was already a serious situation, but on top of that Izabella's rare blood type made things even worse.

Brett's head spinned as he realized the seriousness of the situation. The only person with a matching blood type for Izabella now was Kaley.

He suddenly recalled a conversation over a month ago when Izabella, hoarse from emotion, had asked him a question.

"If Kaley and I have the same blood type, would you let her donate blood to save me if I were dying from excessive blood loss?"

He had never taken hypotheticals seriously before, let alone considered having Kaley risk her own safety to donate blood to Izabella.

The nurse didn't know what Brett was daydreaming about, nudging the critical illness notice against his chest, urging him to sign quickly.

Looking at the critical illness notice pressed to his chest, his heart racing, Brett didn't have the luxury to think, so he quickly called Kaley.

"Kaley, I need your blood now."
