Chapter 1153
Vivian certainly came prepared, even flashing a gloating smile. "Why did you call the cops? Did something happen? Did you lose something?"
Even as she smiled, Lulu had to restrain herself. Like Zachary, she was afraid to push Vivian too far, since Vivian could hurt Star.
Instead, she would leave all her grievances until after Star was found.
However, the officers at Zachary's mansion interrogated Vivian too since she was at the mansion when Star went missing. "What were you doing around 7.30 PM?" "I left to have dinner," Vivian replied calmly.
"Did you notice anything unusual? Did you have line of sight to the baby's crib?"
"No, taking care of the baby is her job." Vivian pointed at Lulu, smiling. "Oh, so you lost the baby? It's over for you, Wendy Jones-Mr. Slate will punish you for this."
Lulu restrained herself against Vivian's gloating, whereas the cops kept interrogating Vivian, their tone menacing. "Are you sure you saw nothing?"
Vivian felt a hint of panic but pointed at Lulu again. "Yes, I'm sure. And you should be asking her why the baby went missing."
"We will question her too," the officer replied.
Vivian grinned at Lulu right then. "Oh, Wendy. Star is Mr. Slate's treasure, but you lost her? Don't you think he'd be furious? What do you think he's going to do to you?" "He'd chase me away," Lulu replied.
Vivian beamed at her words and took a seat. "No, you should've been gone long ago. I'm so sick of you."
Reveling in joy, she imagined Lulu being fired and Star being placed under her care.
Then, she would take such good care of Star that Zachary would be grateful and ask her to marry him.
Just fantasizing alone left her basking in joy.
When Zachary returned in a hurry, Vivian promptly leapt forward to play the blame game. "It's terrible, Mr. Slate! Wendy lost Star!"
As Zachary coolly looked on, Vivian appeared flustered as she tried to make Lutu look bad as much as she could. "What should we do? Star's just a baby. If anything bad O happens..."
She stared pointedly at Lulu, and Zachary turned toward Lulu too.
Vivian sneaked a look at Zachary's angry visage and was buoyed since she thought it was meant for Lulu.
On the other hand, Zachary held Lulu's gaze. "Star's missing?"
Lulu hung her head. "I'm very sorry, Mr. Slate. I Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.

"Don't bother shirking responsibility. It's your fault for not taking care of Star," Vivian snapped at her right then.
"Vivian's right," Zachary said in

Viivan kept smiling at Lulu, but Lulu could read her mind. "I'll resign once we've brought Star back."
Before Zachary could speak, Vivian snapped impatiently, "You lost the baby! You should already be gone-why are you still here?!"
Lulu simply stared at her in turn.
