THE REMORSEFUL BILLIONAIRE

CHAPTER 9

Judith’s POV

I stood there, startled, as I watched him shout on me as if I had wronged him in his previous life.

Everything happened so fast that I was dumbfounded and embarrassed by the attention he had attracted.

I sobbed as he went into his office. “What an asshole”, I thought angrily.

I could have sworn to everyone that they were wrong about him. Considering the way he interacted with me during the interview, but I guess he just pitied me; that’s probably why I got the job so easily.Property © 2024 N0(v)elDrama.Org.

I should have been here earlier. Then, none of this would have be happened because I would have checked for his preference.

“Oh my God, I’m already getting into trouble on my first day”, I said as I smacked my head, wiped my tears, and sat down, looking dejected.

“Don’t beat yourself too hard”, I heard someone whisper.

I looked up and it was a nice looking guy in front of me, he was smiling and full of life unlike my boss.

“Oh sorry. I’m James, his driver “, he said as he stretching out his hand for an handshake.

“Okay, I’m Judith, the new PA”, I taking his hand and giving him a fake smile

“He’s a bully. He drains one physically, mentally and emotionally. But don’t worry you will get used to it and feel better anytime you receive your fat paycheck”, he laughed as I wondered what was funny.

“How long have you been working for him”, I feel like I’m tired already, and I don’t think I can last a week.

“I have been working here for 6 months. You will be fine as long as you obey his instructions, he is a perfectionist, although he lacks perfection himself”.

” He prefers latte coffee”- not too creamy, not too sugary, and not too hot, just somewhere in between”

“Okay, thanks so much, James” I said.

“Don’t mention. I need to run along. Enjoy your day”.

“Okay, bye” I said as I watched him get into the elevator.

I went to the coffee maker, emptied a sachet of latte in it with 2 cubes of sugar and minimal hot water, carefully following James instructions.

In less than 3 minutes, I was done making the coffee. As I made my way to his office, my heart kept racing like a child who has offended her parents and will definitely get scolded by them.

When I got to the door, I calmed myself down and knocked on the door.

I was about knocking for a third time when I hear his cold and husky voice. “Come in”.

I made my way into his neat and well-furnished office, the office is almost as big as my sitting room and smelled so nice, as if the cleaners must have taken their time to clean the place that made it so spotless to avoid his wrath.

I would never understand rich people. What’s the use of a big office when it is just for one person, the rich and their ways, though.

I heard him speaking respectfully with someone over the phone with his back turned to me. The person must be in higher authority for him to be so calm, I guess an asshole like him has some respect.

He looked so handsome in his brown suit. He dressed so simple, yet elegant.

“If only he is as nice as he looks, he would have been the most perfect man on earth”, I thought.

“Judith, what are you thinking about? You are here to work and earn a living, and work you shall”, I drew myself away from further assessing him.

“He can’t be with me even if he is perfect, I’m a single mother of two, who has been broken and dejected, what would he do with me anyway?” I asked myself.

“Father, at least you should appreciate the effort I put in before throwing out the proposal like that, and I’m definitely not coming up with another one”, I heard him say before finally ending the call.

“Sir, your coffee is ready”

“And which type is it”.

“It’s latte sir”.

“Drop it, and please, next time use the phone, I don’t appreciate strangers walking into my personal space “, he said as he unbuttoned the first button on his shirt and sat down in the executive chair.

I ran my eyes across him, I could see his neck and his upper abbs. “oh damn, how can a man be this sexy?” I thought.

“Okay sir”, I said as I turned to leave.

“Let me know my schedule for today”

“Okay sir” I said and shut the door.

I sat down in my well-furnished office. I had been doing a blue-collar job and never had a personal office, even when I worked at the bank, I was sharing the office with two others.

I heard the phone ring “come here”, he said angrily

“O- okay”, I was about to respond when he hung up

He gives orders without even waiting for response, but he sounded really angry again.

What have I done this time?

My first day at work is really going bad, it’s draining me already. I wish I could just leave, but I need the job to cater for myself and my babies.

“Well let’s go find out” I stood up reluctantly…..
