Chapter 393: I Didn't Do It on Purpose
Chapter 393: I Didn't Do It on Purpose
“Let me think about it.” Olive paced up and down in the ward. She didn’t think of a good idea for a while, mainly because she was being emotional. No one could bear it after such present.
As she was thinking hard, the door was pushed open. When Lory Ted saw her husband, she smiled, “I knew you will be with Olive. You forget to eat medicine, don’t you?”
The old man secretly winked at Olive.
Olive received it and understood he wanted her to temporarily keep a secret. She returned the old man a look.
The old man grinned and said, “I’m old. I have a bad memory.”
However, Olive thought it was the contrary. He clearly purposely asked his wife to remind him so that she could be at ease. He needed her presence, unlike in the past when he was alone, bearing the illness and hiding from his wife.
After sending the two away, the ward suddenly fell silent. Olive felt that she was surrounded by a deep sadness that couldn’t be removed. For a long time, she couldn’t get over it.
It wasn’t until the afternoon when Chloe had picked up Annie from school that she felt better.
It was just that there was obviously something wrong with the kid.
“What’s wrong, baby? Olive carried her onto the bed and sat.
“Mommy, Dan is gone.” The little girl looked like in the verge of tears, feeling very depressed.
Olive was taken aback. Wasn’t Dan the kid who played with her daughter together at school? “How can she disappear?”
“Dan hasn’t come to school for a week. I asked the teacher for her mother’s phone number and address, but I couldn’t reach her mother’s phone. I asked Mommy Chloe to bring me to her house, the people there said they’ve moved and the house is sold. But, we’re best friends. How can she not tell me that she’s leaving and where has she gone to? Doesn’t she take me as her friend?”
It seemed that Dan had a very important position in her baby’s heart. “Maybe, something happened in her family and she’s too late to tell you.”
“But, at least she can call me. It’s not like she doesn’t know my home’s phone number. How can a friend act like that?” The child felt wronged, feeling like she was abandoned by friendship.
“Then, do you want to find her?” Olive asked her.
Annie nodded, “I want to. I want to ask her why she left without saying goodbye to me.”
Olive patted the little girl’s cheeks. “That’s easy. Ask your daddy, he has great powers and is comparable to Sherlock Holmes. Finding someone is just a small case for him.”
“Really?” Annie’s eyes lit up.
Chloe at the side laughed and said, “When your mommy ever lie to you?”
“Then I will call uncle now.” The little girl asked Olive for her phone.
Alan was driving when he received the call. The special ringtone made him open his mouth without even thinking, “Honey, I’m on my way to the hospital. What’s wrong? You miss me?”
Annie had turned on the speaker, and Chloe teased the woman next to her.
Alan frowned. The voice was wrong. And then he heard a baby-like voice from the microphone, “I’m not your honey, but your baby.”
He laughed, “Oh, my little baby misses me too.”
Annie said, “Yeah, I miss you. I want you to find someone for me.”
If there wasn’t the second half sentence, it was heartwarming. It was just that his daughter needed something, how could a father just stand by?
After he listened to the little girl’s explanation. He smiled and said, “You just want to look for someone. Just say the word. As long as they haven’t left Luo City, you can meet her tomorrow.”
Hearing his confidence answer, the little girl then happily hung up the phone. And then she became interested in the beautiful pictures of the magazine on the table.
Olive told Chloe about the problem that Norton threw to her, wanting her to share her own thoughts.
The two people thought about it and couldn’t find a good idea, but in a flash of inspiration, they blurted out in the same time, “Shoot an MV.”
In compare of all the other gifts Norton had even given over the years, he had given so many, the only thing missing was a spirited memento.
Chloe said, “We can shoot a super long version MV and use their story to write a script. We include all the places where they have lived, making him and his wife as the only main characters. Of course, if you want to keep this as a secret from Mrs. Geve temporarily, you can only secretly photograph her. If Norton’s condition doesn’t allow for on-side shooting, we can choose a location first and include some of their valuable photos, then add with recent popular music and his affectionate memories. What do you think?”
“Sure. Then I’ll leave it to you. You guys are shooting MV albums too anyway. It’s a pleasure to help others. Price isn’t a problem.” Olive breathed out a sigh of relief to finally solve a big problem.
Chloe was displeased. “Don’t you talk about money with me to hurt my feelings?”
Olive smiled, “I can’t let you pay, right? Besides, you still owe Ivy.”
Chloe waved her hand, “Let him pay me the production fee and I’ll do it properly.”
“There’s only a month. Can you do it?” She was afraid that it was a little rushed. This wasn’t as simple as buying something in a mall.”
“No problem. There are a lot of people and manpower. When the time comes, you can send me a better car from your hotel and call a few people to run errands,” Chloe said.
“Sure. I’ll find the time to talk with Norton tonight. Come here tomorrow at nine o’clock. If there’s Mrs. Geve, I’ll find way to distract her to let you talk with Norton in detail.” Olive made the decision.
Chloe made an OK gesture to her.
“What are you guys talking about? Look so happy.” Alan’s voice was heard inside the room. He picked up his child and sat next to the women.
The warm and happy appearance of family of three made Chloe envious.
Olive told him the matter briefly. Alan smiled and said, “It’s a good idea. We can also take a few clips each year. When we get old, we can watch how we are when we’re young. Don’t you think, honey?”
Chloe couldn’t stand their sweetness anymore. “I really can’t stand you guys. Annie, we should go back. If we stay any longer, your uncle will treat us as lightbulbs.”
Annie looked up from her book, “What’s wrong with lightbulbs? We can brighten them up.”
The innocent and baby-like tone amused the three adults. Children were really a happy vitamin.
Chloe thought it would be good if she could give birth too. To be loved my father and mother. To be taken care by grandparents.
Alan rubbed her daughter’s small face. “Okay. As you wish, I let you and your Mommy Chloe to be two glowing lightbulbs. Your mommy has been holding back these days. Let’s take her out for a stroll.”
Olive gave him a hit for treating her as if she was a dog for a stroll. However, as soon as she heard that she could go out, she happily went to the bathroom to change her clothes.
“I’m still not going. What am I doing joining you family of three?” Chloe said tactfully.
Alan kissed his daughter. “Baby, tell Dad. Do our family only have three people?”
Annie said, “Mommy Chloe fails in math and should go to school again. Right, daddy?”
“My baby is so smart,” Alan laughed and casted his gaze to Chloe. “Aoba is also waiting at the hospital’s entrance. I can’t tell who is being the lightbulb.”
Hearing that, Chloe couldn’t say any more arguments. When Olive had changed her clothes, they walked out of the hospital together.
The place they were going wasn’t far from the hospital. In fact, they went to eat to a restaurant. It had a nice name and the decoration was exquisite. The first floor was a hall, the second floor was a small single room which separated by a screen, and the third floor was an independent private room.
They sat on the second floor because Annie thought the paintings on the screens were beautiful.
Roast goose, fried beef, steak with sauce, crispy intestines, beef and lotus, frog, yellow duck, turtle soup and green vegetables—all ordered by the little girl. She just ordered the pictures which looked good on the menu. The table was full. Who said the girl only knew how to flirt?
The waiter stared at the four adults and a child. He asked, “Can you finish all of them?”
Alan simply said, “If we can’t, we can take them home.” Owned by NôvelDrama.Org.
“Grandpa and grandma like to eat roast goose. Let’s order another for takeaway, okay?” the little girl asked.
“Sure.” Alan stroked his daughter’s little head. He was relieved that the girl was filial since she was young. Because his mother didn’t admit his child, she couldn’t experience the joy of having a granddaughter on her lap. One day, she would taste the regret of the decision she made.
Annie opened her belly to eat and filled her little appetite without the need for an adult’s help.
The adults were talking about adults topics and she was more interested in the table that full of food. It might also be because of her depressed mood and only ate a few bites at noon that the little girl felt hungry.
Her hands reached to her little belly and she put down her chopsticks. She announced to the adults, “I’m full.”
The full little girl couldn’t sit still. She jumped off the chair and walked around. The adults told her not to go too far. She agreed, but she still went further and further curiously, then accidentally hit someone.
Ophelia had just accompanied Mrs. Hoyle for dinner. Just as she walked down the stairs, she bumped into a child and stepped on her toes.
Her three-inch high heels turned wobbly for a moment and fell. She was in pain until her appearance changed on the spot, “Whose kid is it? Why no one look at her?”
Annie actually ran into her on purposed. She knew the woman. Mommy Chloe had ever pointed a picture on the computer and told her that it was this woman who caused her Mommy Olive to be
separated from her daddy for five years, and she almost prevented her from coming into this world. And she still pestered on her daddy, wanting to destroy her parents’ marriage.
So, she had remembered what this woman looked like.
When this woman appeared at the top of the stairs, she recognized her in a glance. Thinking carefully, she pretended and ran into her innocently. She knew she would feel hurt whenever she stepped. Big Beard had thought her.
Looking at Ophelia’s pained face, Annie was a little happy, but she still calmed herself down. With a very sorry expression on her face, she said, “I’m sorry, auntie. I didn’t do it on purpose.”
