The Divorced Heiress Is Entering a New Marriage

Chapter 80

Chapter 0080

“Natalie!” Logan said. “What are you doing here?”

“After you kicked me out I realized I forgot my purse,” she said. “So, is this why you kicked me out? So you two could be alone?” She snapped.

ד

“I was giving her my jacket,” Logan said, surprisingly meek in his response.

“Oh,” Natalie looked at me and jutted out her bottom lip. “Was somebody cold?”

“Yeah, somebody had a drink dumped all over them by Lady Beelzebub,” I said through gritted teeth.

“Well I’m glad I had to come back,” Natalie said, completely ignoring me. “Because now I have proof of you cheating.“.

She held up her phone and showed us the picture she had snapped. It was Logan leaning in for a kiss just before she interrupted us. I grimaced. It was not great, I had to admit. I looked at him, but I wasn’t quite able to read his face. NôvelDrama.Org: text © owner.

“So, Logan, I have just decided that I will not be divorcing you. And if you refuse to stay with me, I will leak this picture everywhere. I did meet some of your lovely board members. I bet they would be very interested to know what their CEO does behind closed doors,” Natalie said, looking at the photo.

Logan and I exchanged glances. We both knew it would not go over well with the board, considering Logan had just introduced his wife to them an hour or so earlier. That would not be a great look for the company.

“I hope this was worth it,” Natalie spat. “I know I’m going to enjoy all the making up you’ll be doing to me,” she gave him a smirk and walked out of the office, slamming the door behind her.

“I should go,” I said, standing. “I need to…check on the room, make sure the caterers got out alright.”

Logan just nodded, a faraway look in his eyes, I took the jacket off my shoulders and handed it to him, then left without another word.

I walked back down the dark hall to the conference room. To my surprise, Maria was inside, picking up trash from the tables.

“Maria, what are you still doing here?” I called out as I headed towards her.

She jumped. “Oh, there you are!” She dumped the plates she had gathered and rap to me. She threw her arms around me. “I can’t believe Natalie did that to you! Are you okay? Where have you been?”

“I’m not surprised Natalie did that to me,” I said with a snort. I rolled my eyes. “That’s not even the worst thing she’s ever done.”

“Well that’s true,” she said. “But still, in front of so many board members? I think that woman is the devil incarnate.”

I nodded and started grabbing trash from the nearest table.

*So what h

happened after that? I wanted to stick around but honestly, Logan makes me nervous.”

The

“Ah…well…” I looked around to make sure we were really alone. “Logan basically told Natalie they were

over, then kicked her out too.”

Maria’s eyes grew wide. “No way! Has Natalie ever been dumped?”

I laughed. “I don’t think so. But that’s not the best part.

“What! How could it get better than that?”

I

We dumped our trash and I turned to her. “After she left, Logan helped me dry off. Then,” I started blushing just thinking about it.

Her mouth grew into a huge smile. “Oh my god, did he kiss you??”

I shook my head no. “No, but we came so close! Twice

I bit mu

my lip, trying to keep from grinning like a fool. Maria let out a little squeal.

“Deets, woman! I need you to give me all the details immediately,” she said.

I told her about both near–kisses as we continued cleaning up. “I still can’t believe it,” I shook my head. Someone that looks like that wanted to kiss me, of all people.”

“Duh, how many times do I have to tell you you’re a babe?” She said, then nudged me with her elbow. “I told you this was a romantic comedy!” She said with a wink, then sighed. “I do feel bad for Dylan though.” My heart tightened at the thought of Dylan’s face just before he left the conference room. I felt awful, he’d been so sweet to me too. I honestly wasn’t sure which one I would rather have kiss me.

“He did look pretty hurt after he saw Logan almost kiss me,” I said with a frown.

“Well yeah, that man is in love with you,” Maria said.

“What? No way,” I said, I pulled off a tablecloth and handed Maria one end of it so she could help me fold it.

“Okay, Captain Denial,” Maria said.

Natalie slammed the door behind her when she arrived home. She’s been able to maintain her composure in front of Hazel and Logan in his office, but now that she was home, the rage she felt at her sister and husband began boiling over. She stood in the front entryway and let out a long, blood–curdling scream.

Her parents came running in from the kitchen. “Natalie, what’s wrong? Are

you alright?”

Her dad asked.

“NO!” She screamed. “That was the worse wedding announcement ever! Hazel wouldn’t stop harassing me, and then Logan kicked me out of my party for defending myself against her, and so I left. But I forgot my purse and when I went back, I found the two of them almost kissing each other in his office!” Natalie began to sob. She ran into the living room and threw herself face–down on the couch, sobbing uncontrollably, “It’s not fair, daddy!” She managed between sobs.

Her dad moved to the living room and knelt beside her, and her mom sat in the little space Natalie had left on the couch. She began scratching Natalie’s back

“Shh,” her mom said. “It’s alright. We’ll have a talk with Hazel when she gets home.”

“A talk? Oh yeah, that’ll fix things right up.” Natalie turned her head to look at her mother. “That’s not good enough! I need…I need..” she thought about what might hurt Hazel the most. “Can’t you kick her out or something?”

Her mother and father exchanged glances. They were aware that it might be hypocritical of them to kick Hazel out, when Natalie had done the same thing to her sister with zero consequences. But they were torn. How could they say no to their little girl?

“Okay sweetheart, if that will help you feel better,” her dad said, rubbing the back of her head. “We’ll tell Hazel she has to be out by the end of the week.”

Natalie’s tears instantly stopped. She sat up and dried her eyes. “Thank you daddy,” she got off the couch, hugged him, then bounded up the stairs to her room.

She walked to her vanity and sat. She pulled makeup remover and a cotton ball from her top drawer and began removing her eye makeup.

“That was too easy,” she said to her reflection in the mirror, grinning. “Now I just have to figure out how I’ll punish Logan for his part in this.”
