Chapter 999
Chapter 999
He knew he couldn't fall for anyone else again. His heart just didn't have room for anyone else..
But he said nothing, just swallowed hard and looked up.
"Aurelia, no matter who you choose, I'll be right here for you, never leaving your side. I'll always be
your rock," he said with a steadfast gaze.
Aurelia looked deeply into his eyes. "You'll always be my confidant, the one who understands me best
in this world, the one I trust the most."
Around the corner of the staircase, the kids were hiding behind the banister, sneaking peeks below.
"William, your dad and Angel broke up. He looks so sad, which makes me wanna cry."
Kane sighed internally. If mom hadn’t left Uncle Arnold, then his dad Leopold would be the one crying.
William felt a pang in his heart. If dad was sad, so was he. They could never go back to the way things
were, back to their home in Goldstone.

William ran back to his room, threw on his little backpack, and thundered down the stairs.
"Daddy!" he cried, wrapping his arms around Arnold's neck. "You still have me, William. I'll never leave
you."
Arnold hugged him, the innocent sound of his voice soothing like a gentle stream, offering a glimmer of
comfort.
But soon he realized that William would have to leave him too.
With Aurelia remarrying Leopold, William's true identity would soon come to light.
He kissed his son's cheek. "Buddy, you'll have to go live with Mommy at the Stirling Mansion soon."
William shook his head fiercely. "I have my own home. Why should I go to the Stirling Mansion? I want
to stay with you, Daddy, in our house."
"William..." Arnold stroked his hair, feeling as if a knife were twisting in his heart, tearing him apart with
unbearable pain.
He couldn't bear to lose William, but he knew Aurelia could no longer keep the secret.
William quivered his lips and burst into tears. "Daddy, don't you want me anymore?"
“Mommy didn't want Daddy, and now Daddy didn't want me either?” Thinking like this, William was sad.
Arnold pulled William in close, comforting him, "How could Daddy ever not want you? You're always
going to be my boy."
Once Leopold found out the truth, he'd take William away, and Arnold would be powerless to stop it.
William sniffled. "I don't wanna live at the Stirling Mansion. I don't like Uncle Leopold. I hate him. He'll
never be my dad. I only love you, Daddy. You're the only dad for me."
Arnold felt a wave of relief wash over him.
Aurelia sighed deeply to herself.
She would respect William's wishes and not go against his will.
"Arnold, you're William's father. It's up to you to decide on his behalf."
Arnold understood her words clearly and wasn't going to take William away.
His dim eyes brightened a touch. "Daddy won't leave you, William, and you won't leave Daddy, okay?"
"Okay," William nodded vigorously, his tears giving way to a smile. "William and Daddy together
forever."
Standing up with his son in his arms, he said, "Let's go home, buddy. Tomorrow, I'll take you to see
Nova."
"Okay," William responded.
Daddy was hurt. Once they got home, William was going to comfort him and make sure he didn't feel
sad anymore.
Arnold exchanged a brief farewell with Zack and Jolin before leaving with William.
Upstairs, Kane sighed to himself. Mommy went back home, and who knew when William would return?
Jolin called her daughter into the room.
"Aurelia, what's your plan for William? Are you going to keep it from Leopold forever?" Jolin asked.
Aurelia felt helpless. "It's William's decision. He doesn't acknowledge Leopold."
Jolin sighed deeply. "I understand his feelings. Arnold has been good to him, and he's very fond of
Arnold. I'm just worried about Leopold. If he ever finds out the truth, he's going to be furious."
