Chapter 1113
Chapter 1113
"Hey, Nina, what kind of chocolate do you fancy? I'll take you to get some right now."
Nina was bawling her eyes out.
Aurelia, standing not too far off, witnessed the scene and hurried over.
"What's wrong, Nina?"
Nina wanted to tell her about the poisoned chocolate. If they got Mira to the hospital now, maybe they
could still save her.
But how could she explain that the chocolate was poisoned?
If Aunt Aurelia found out her mom was behind it, she'd never let it slide, especially since her mom also
wanted to take out her and Kane.
Truth be told, Nina could never do such a thing. Kane and Aunt Aurelia were family. Ccontent © exclusive by Nô/vel(D)ra/ma.Org.
Hurting family was out of the question.
"Aunt Aurelia, the chocolate, that chocolate..."
She was about to spill the beans about the poison when Mira reached into her pocket and produced
the green-wrapped chocolate bar.
"Aww, here you go. I haven't even had a bite. I was just kidding before, you're so stingy."
Mira had been about to indulge when she saw Nina coming and quickly hid the chocolate in her pocket.
Fearing Nina would demand it back, she lied about eating it.
Nina's crying stopped abruptly as she snatched the chocolate from her hand.
Aurelia let out a relieved sigh. It was all about a piece of chocolate.
"Well, no more tears. You kids are crazy about chocolate, huh? I'll go to the grocery store later and buy
each of you a whole box."
Nina cleaned her tears, saying, "I need to wash my face in the restroom."
She turned and dashed away, needing to dispose of the toxic chocolate quickly.
Mira shook her head like a little adult, sighing.
"Phew, good thing I didn't eat it, or Nina would've been devastated."
Aurelia chuckled and patted her head, "I'll have the bodyguard pick some up for you."
"Aunt Aurelia, make sure it's chocolate liqueur truffle. Don't mix it up," Mira advised.
"Got it," Aurelia nodded.
When Nina returned, Aurelia asked, "Did you buy your chocolate from that store we passed earlier?"
"Yep," Nina replied noncommittally.
"Got any left? Show me what it looks like. I'll have the bodyguard buy some more."
Nina shook her head. "All gone, I ate the last of it."
"I know what it looks like. I'll go with bodyguards to buy it," Mira piped up quickly, her curiosity peaked
about the taste of that green chocolate. It must have been delicious if Nina was so reluctant to share.
Nina rolled her eyes at her. "Why are you such a glutton? All you think about is your stomach."
Mira stuck her tongue out at Nina, "I'm a foodie, that's why."
Skyler came running over, all smiles. "I'm a foodie too, high five!"
He and Mira slapped hands like comrades in gastronomy.
Aurelia had the bodyguard take Mira to find the liqueur-filled chocolates, but it was a long while before
they returned.
Mira came back crestfallen, dragging her little feet.
"Nina, where the heck did you buy your chocolate? We've been to every grocery store around and still
couldn't find it."
By then, Nina had a plan.
"Just at the grocery store down the street. When I bought it, it was the last box, so it looks like they're
out of stock."
Mira was bummed out. For a little foodie, not getting to eat something they've set their heart on was a
bitter pill to swallow.
Aurelia stroked her cheek. "Is that brand of liqueur-filled chocolate really that good?"
"Uh-huh, so yummy," Mira licked her lips.
"Then I'll have someone order it online for you two, okay?"
"Okay!" Mira lit up her face again.
Nina was speechless, just grateful Mira hadn't eaten that green chocolate; otherwise, Mira would have
met her maker by now and wouldn't be able to enjoy anything at all.
