The CEO’S Unplanned Heir novel (Aurelia and Leopold)

Chapter 1088

Chapter 1088

Aurelia leaped from the couch, hurrying to steady Lisbeth who seemed on the verge of collapse.

"I'm fine, just on my period," she said, waving a hand dismissively. "Just a bit of..." Her words trailed off

as darkness overtook her vision, and she fainted.

Without missing a beat, Beverley quickly called for an ambulance. Before long, the ambulance arrived

and whisked Lisbeth away to the hospital.

Sitting in the waiting room, Beverley took out her phone. "Aurelia, should we call Raines?"

"Not yet." Aurelia pressed her hand. "Let's wait for the doctor to give us an update."

"Okay," Beverley nodded.

After what felt like an eternity, the light above the emergency room door finally clicked off. The doctor

emerged.

"The patient showed signs of a miscarriage, but luckily, she was brought in just in time. The baby is

safe, but she'll need to rest and take these medications to prevent any complications."

"Thank you," breathed Aurelia, the reality of Lisbeth's pregnancy sinking in.

Lisbeth, now awake in her hospital bed, was visibly shaken. "What happened?"

"Lisbeth, you were pregnant and nearly miscarried. But you're both fine now," Beverley explained.

A tremor of panic crossed Lisbeth's face as she instinctively touched her belly.

Observing the subtle shift in her expression, Aurelia said, "We haven't called Raines yet to share the

good news. I'll call him right now."

As she reached for her phone, Lisbeth lurched up, grabbing Aurelia's hand. "No, please don't tell him!"

"Calm down, Lisbeth. Lie back," Aurelia urged, gently pushing her back onto the bed.

"Why not tell Raines?" Beverley asked, puzzled. "He'd be thrilled to know about the baby."

Lisbeth clutched the sheets, her face ashen. "Raines... he was sick, remember? The medication...

affects sperm. The doctor advised us to be careful. If he learns about the pregnancy, he'll worry about

the baby's health and insist on a termination. I don't want that. I want to wait until after the prenatal

tests. If the baby's healthy, Raines won't ask me to do it. Can you keep this secret for me, please?"

"Of course," Aurelia replied, nodding. "We'll keep it between us."

Relieved, Lisbeth said, "I can't stay here. If Raines finds out, he'll suspect something."

"Look, you're pale as a ghost. If you bleed again, Raines will definitely catch on. How about this? Stay

at Mossy Rock Retreat. Beverley and I will say we're on a weekend getaway. It'll give you a couple of

days to rest, and Raines won't suspect a thing," Aurelia suggested.

After a moment, Lisbeth agreed with a nod of thanks.

Once settled at the retreat, Aurelia promised, "I'll make you some soup to help you rest up."

With Lisbeth resting, Aurelia and Beverly stepped outside.

Beverley whispered, "Aurelia, is the baby Raines'? Lisbeth worries he won't want it, but that's not like

him. He loves kids. Even if he's concerned, he wouldn't force her to terminate."

Aurelia replied cryptically, "If the Raines we know is himself, then her baby might not be his. But if not,

then her baby might actually be his." Property of Nô)(velDr(a)ma.Org.

It was a riddle wrapped in a mystery, but Beverley concentrated hard to grasp it.

"So is Raines really Raines or not?" Beverley asked, the question hanging in the air between them.
