Chapter 1004
Chapter 1004
As Lisa flipped over the fourth card, it revealed the Shadow Venom, reversed.
"The Shadow Venom signifies an end, or perhaps a rebirth from the brink of disaster. What truly
matters is your choice, a thought towards paradise or a descent into hell."
The tarot reading went on.
After revealing all the cards, Beverley began her interpretation.
"Lisa, there's still hope for reconciliation with Arnold. In this relationship, you're the initiator. Hold onto
your beliefs and don't give up. That's the only way you might touch his heart and bring him back to
you."
Hope reignited in Lisa's heart, bringing a smile to her face.
Aurelia chuckled, "Beverley's tarot readings are quite something. Maybe you and Arnold are just meant
to be and destined to unite after trials and tribulations. Look at me and Leopold, we were apart for three
years and went through a divorce. But here we are back together again."
Lisa looked at her, deeply moved. This woman was once her biggest rival, yet now her best friend. In
Elysium, Aurelia was the only one who genuinely cared for her and was willing to help.
"I won't give up on Arnold. I'll strive to be the woman who deserves him."
At the thought of Lisbeth's card, Beverley couldn't help but express her concern, "Some who seem to
part ways don't necessarily face tragedy. Instead, they might find their way back to each other. Others,
who appear to be soulmates, could be on the brink of heartbreaking separation. I'm really worried for
Raines."
Lisa shifted her gaze and her voice was tinged with confusion, "You've done a reading for Raines and
Lisbeth?"
Beverley sighed, "Lisbeth's spread was one of the worst I've seen since I started reading tarot. I'm
worried she might not truly care for Raines. I'm trying to figure out a way to test her."
Lisa felt a chill, "Is it that serious?"
"It's a spread that foretells a parting through betrayal and lies," Beverley replied. Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.
Aurelia broke a sweat, realizing Beverley could be a bit loose-lipped, "Let's keep the tarot readings
among us, no need to tell anyone else."
Beverley zipped her lips with a gesture, "Don't worry, Aurelia, my lips are sealed outside of this circle."
Lisa blinked, whispering, "I've never met Raines and Lisbeth. Aren't they in a good relationship? Is it
like Arnold and me?"
Beverley explained, "Raines must like Lisbeth. Otherwise, he wouldn't have married her. I just fear that
Lisbeth might be in it not for love but for money and fame."
Aurelia stroked her chin, musing, "I heard Raines is a fierce lawyer, never lost a case, and is well-
known in the area. Lawyers are usually sharp. If Lisbeth were insincere, wouldn't he see right through
her?"
"Well, there's truth to the saying, 'Love is blind,'" Beverley announced. "Even the most valiant heroes
can lose sight of reason when smitten."
Aurelia found herself agreeing. Love could fog the brain, be it a woman's or a man's.
"Love indeed blinds," she mused. Thankfully, she prided herself on staying clear-headed, immune to
the whims of dopamine.
Why pine for one when the world is full of beauty?
Lisa, catching her off-guard, asked, "Aurelia, if Leopold moved on, would you marry Arnold?"
The answer wasn't clear, even to Aurelia.
Maybe she would. If Leopold no longer wanted her, she'd certainly seek out true love, choosing
someone who loved her.
"Not necessarily. Mr. Cooper is also quite a catch, handsome and single," she quipped with a playful
tone.
