Chapter 17: Premonitions
“President Davi said he asked the doctor and this tonic soup will improve Gar’s blood and vitality!” Selwin assisted Octavia Gills to place the items on the table, and then said politely and seriously turned to Octavia Gills, “President Davi said that he had to go back to the office to deal with an urgent matter and that he would take care of everything for you later, so don’t worry! If there’s nothing else, I’ll be off, I’ve got to meet a client for President Davi!”
“Yes, please, thank you!” When Octavia Gills came back from seeing Selwin to the door, her mother and brother asked in unison, “President Davi? What President Davi?”
“Why are you so concerned? He is just the president of my company, he is always aware when his employees have emergencies at home, and the company routinely sends some assistance. Are you not hungry? Come and eat.” Octavia Gills was making things up, phew! She was getting better at making up stories these days!
“Ahh?? yes, we were overthinking it, how could the president of Group Davi, the future heir of Group Davi, look at a lowly person like you.” Elda Block said subconsciously.Content is property of NôvelDrama.Org.
Octavia Gills felt as if she was hit with a stick at her mother’s thoughtless utterance, but it was, in face an indisputable reality!
Back at the old Group Davi house, Octavia Gills took small steps and breathed in every inch of the place, every piece of rubble?? she wanted to take them deep into her heart, always having the uneasy feeling that she would one day need to leave this house!
“Hurry up, take a shower, and come back! When I type up this official document, I’ll talk to you about your brother!” Tredan told her.
“Oh!” She faced him like a meek little sheep as always.
An hour later, Octavia Gills emerged from the bathroom wearing a long white shirt, her freshly washed hair still dripping with small drops of water. Reaching for a towel, she wiped her hair before sitting down in front of Tredan.
“Tredan, thank you for today!”
Engrossed in his work, Tredan heard Octavia Gills’ voice before he put down the pen in his hand, closed the file, and looked up at Octavia Gills.
“Do you know that you are very attractive right now!” Pulling Octavia Gills over with one hand, he sat her on his lap. Taking the towel from her hand, he gently dried her hair.
“Huh?” Octavia Gills blushed at Tredan’s comment.
“I have already contacted the renowned Dr. Aldred Gilbertson, who is the most authoritative cardiologist in the country’s hospitals, and I have spoken to him roughly about your brother’s situation. If a suitable heart is found, he will arrange for your brother to undergo an operation and will personally operate on him, so just relax and concentrate on being my lover! I’ve already ordered someone to come over tomorrow afternoon to check your brother into the VIP ward!” Tredan’s big hands couldn’t resist running up and down Octavia Gills’ smooth thighs, “Only wear a dress like this in front of me from now on, okay?” and with that, he carried Octavia Gills towards the bed.
“Wait, wait for me to finish. Tredan, thank you for doing so much for me, as for my brother’s expenses I will make a note and write an IOU. In the future, I will pay you back, but I don’t earn much, so maybe… it might take some time for me to pay you back!”
Burning with lust, Tredan doesn’t have any patience to listen to what Octavia Gills is saying.
“You’re shameless, you little ninny!” He said and covered Octavia Gills’ luscious little mouth directly with his.
After a stormy night, the two of them fell asleep in each other’s arms.
The next morning, Octavia Gills called the office to take some time off work and then went to the kitchen and busied herself, not only to prepare a hearty breakfast for Tredan, but also to make her brother a delicious porridge.
Looking at the exquisite watch Tredan had brought her from Shanghai, she pursed her lips and smiled slightly, a gesture as sweet as a woman in love. How would Octavia Gills feel if she knew that what Tredan described as a few hundred dollars was worth hundreds of thousands of dollars? Looking at her watch, which read 8 o’clock, Octavia Gills returned to the bedroom and gently called Tredan, who was still asleep.
“Tredan, it’s time for you to get up, have breakfast and go to work!” Tredan, whose eyes have barely even opened, mischievously wrapped his arms around Octavia Gills and laid her down on her back, holding her for a moment before opening those lazy eyes and kissing her forehead before he was finally satisfied to get up. He stretched, yawned and scratched his messy hair before rolling out of bed in a heap.
Octavia Gills opened her phone and saw a bunch of voice messages that Domino sent in Facebook.
“Octavia, how come you didn’t tell me that something so big happened to your family!”
“Octavia, what is the situation with Gar Gills? Anything I can do to help, just ask.”
“Octavia, send me the name of the hospital and ward number!”
“Octavia Gills, why haven’t replied to my messages yet? Tell me what’s going on, I’m worried about you!”
After hearing all the messages on Facebook, Octavia Gills shook her head and laughed helplessly, “Domino’s really a hothead!”
She replied to her with a smiley face with the message: “Everything has settled down, just waiting for the right heart! I’m sending porridge to my brother.”
Her Aunt Maud’s characteristic loud voice could be clearly heard outside, even before she walked into the ward.
“Elda, what I’m saying is that why didn’t you tell me and your brother-in-law about this big incident! What if Gar had an accident and was not rescued in time? Your brother-in-law was so anxious when he found out about it, he was like an ant on a hot pan. So early this morning, he told President Banbury about it already. You see, he’s sending you good news this morning. You know that we’ve always been thinking of you a sister.”
“President Banbury is such a good man, Maud. He must be an important client of Durwin’s if he’s working so hard for him!” Gar Gills knew that his mother was not a good speaker and had to suffer every time she spoke to Maud. So, he deliberately pulled Maud’s attention towards himself.
“Oh, so you’ve got a real mouth on you! Do you know how much President Banbury is worth?” Maud’s eyes were fixed on Gar Gills.
“How much is it? Over a billion?” Gar Gills joked.
Maud shook her head, and with her eyes wide open with admiration and jealousy, she raised both her hands with crossed her fingers to Gar Gills and said to the mother and son, “A billion! A billion! A billion, just think of how many hundred-dollar bills that would be!”
“That’s quite a feat! Then why don’t you and Uncle Durwin hurry up serve him like an emperor?” Though ill from childhood, Gar Gills’ heart was so strong!
