The CEOs Possession

Make Her Sell

Anders could barely concentrate at work. He was worn out from a sleepless night spent worrying about Veil, wondering if she was doing okay. He knew she didn’t want to tell him what was going on in her life, and that made him so frustrated.

He felt the strong urge to take total control of everything happening in her life, but from the little he knew about Veil, she was a tough nut to crack.

Julia, his temporary secretary for the day, came in with her iPad.

“Mr. Roderiguez, I have with me a copy of your …”

“Did I ask you to come in?” Anders asked, his voice too calm to convey his actual feelings.

“What?”

“It’s a simple question, Ms. Julia.” His tone was getting harsher.

“You didn’t, Sir.” She answered curtly.

“And why didn’t I?”

Julia was confused. The HR head had told her to fill in for Ms. Hart today and she had done everything to be ready for Anders questions, even looking up what he liked to eat. She was here before he came in that morning, and had even brought in his coffee, black without cream or sugar, just the way he liked it.

So what could she have done wrong?

“I want you to think about your actions since you stepped out of your office,” Anders instructed, his eyes stern. “What do you think you have done wrong?”

Julia took a minute to think about it but came up with nothing.

“Get out!” Anders commanded, his exhaustion raising a notch. “And don’t come in here until you have figured out what you did wrong.”

“Sir…”

“Out! Now!”

Julia jumped in fright as Anders yelled at her. She dashed out without the confidence she had come in with, not stopping until she was within the confines of her office.

Anders put his head in his hands and took in a deep breath. He had been on edge since he got to the office, and a part of him knew it was because Veil wasn’t in today. He couldn’t help but wonder what she was spending her free day doing.

He knew she needed to rest, especially since she had spent the whole night working on a document he didn’t even need. Anders felt like a total jerk for pulling that move on her, because if he hadn’t, she would be at the office today and he wouldn’t have to deal with the stray thoughts of her being with that man from the party.

Although Veil had told him that he wasn’t her boyfriend, Anders recognized the look in that man’s eyes. He had seen it too often not to know what it was. And it irked him.

Picking up the telephone, he placed it against his ears and dialed in a number. The receiver picked up immediately.

“I want all the information you can get about a certain man named Orleans. I don’t know any other thing about him other than the fact that he looks rich. Start with the conglomerates around. I need answers as soon as possible.”

Anders ended the call immediately, but he didn’t feel any better. Forcing himself to concentrate on work, he went out for a breakfast meeting with the executives of JK company. They asked about his secretary and he told them to mind their business, much to their surprise.

Deciding that he couldn’t get through the day if he kept on being on edge that way, Anders checked out for the day, clearing his schedule and heading out. He asked his driver to go home for the day while he drove his car himself.

His first stop was Veil’s house, but he was disappointed to see it locked. It didn’t help that each time he closed his eyes, all he could imagine was her lips locked with Orleans’ and it made his blood boil.

“Where the fuck is she?” Anders muttered into space, hitting his steering and causing the elderly woman crossing the street to jump in fright.

With nothing left to do, he paid a visit to his only friend, Lucas. It had been quite a while since Anders had graced his art company, so Lucas was over the moon to have him.

“Anders, mi hermano!” Lucas boomed in excitement. “Como estas, cabron?”

“Esta bien,” a smile stretched across Anders’ face as Lucas pulled him into his arms. “It’s been a minute, yeah?”

“You’ve been so busy with Kingston Group that you didn’t have the time to pay me a visit, and I know the great Anderson Rodriguez would rarely come up here without a reason. So tell me, what’s the matter?”

Lucas could read Anders like a book, even if Anders liked to think otherwise.

“Come on!” Anders walked ahead of him into his office, with Lucas following closely behind. They went past a row of paintings on the wall, lining the hallway, before reaching the office.

“So?” Lucas asked as they both sat down.

“There’s nothing wrong.”

“I’m listening.”

“Lucas…”

“Is it work?”

“Maybe.” Anders muttered. It would never occur to Lucas in the slightest that his friend could be so frustracion because of a woman. For as long as they’d known each other, Anders had been able to get any woman he wanted just by flashing a smile.

But that was the problem. Veil wasn’t that type of woman.

“A company I’m trying to own doesn’t want to get purchased. They don’t even understand what I’m doing, and I have a huge feeling that if I don’t do something about it, they’ll get purchased by another company.”

“That’s easy,” Lucas said, rolling his eyes. “Just do what you always do. Keep on pushing until they budge. There’s only an amount of resistance a company can put up, especially if they’re considering selling in the general sense.”

“And what if they aren’t?”

“Then make them want to sell.”

A light flicked on in Anders’ eyes and he got off his seat at once, walking briskly to the door. Lucas called after him, but Anders could barely hear. He got back into his car and returned to Veil’s house.NôvelDrama.Org copyrighted © content.
