The door to the office of JK’s president opened after a rasp, and PA Garth walked into the spacious office.
“Master Orleans, we found the woman you’re looking for, she works for Anders Rodriguez.”
Orleans twirled his seat towards his PA with brows dragged together in a frown.
“Find out at what time she closes from work.” His tone was calm but deep. PA Garth reflexly wondered what business he had with the woman.
Anders glanced into Veil’s office as he strode towards his’ with his bodyguards trailing behind him. She was going through something on her computer and Simon was standing next to her, pointing out something. Seeing them so close, Anders’ eyes narrowed in anger at Simon. Veil raised her gaze just in time to meet Anders’ wicked one. She jerked up from her seat at once.
“Mr. Rodriguez!” She called. Simon looked up and saw Ander glaring at him with ruthless emotionless eyes and a chill ran down his spine. He couldn’t understand the reason behind Anders’ gaze so he nervously bowed in greetings. But Anders ignored him and walked away.
Confused and at the same time anxious about the situation, Veil hurried out of her office and followed behind Ander.Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
“Good morning Mr. Rodriguez, would you… like… Uhm… anything.” She bit on the walls of her lower lip as she asked nervously. “Shall I get you a cup of coffee?”
“What’s my schedule for the morning?”
“Uhmm… I left my iPad, I’ll go get it and come.” As she turned around and walked away in a hurry, grey lustful, but angry eyes lingered on her.
In less than two minutes, she returned with her iPad.
“You’re to visit the construction site at eight thirty AM which is… now,” Veil said looking up at him.
“Alright then, do you know how to drive?”
“Sorry?” Veil asked.
“You’re my secretary, driving me is a part of your job description.” He said and then started walking away, but then he stopped when he couldn’t hear Veil following behind him.
“My secretary should ensure we aren’t late.” His commanding tone pulled Veil from her stunned state.
“Uh! Sorry, Mr. Rodriguez.”
She quickly grabbed his laptop from his desk and hurried after him.
On arriving outside the building, the chauffeur opened the door for Anders.
“You can take the day off, Ms. Hart will drive me today.”
The chauffeur was stunned for a moment, but then he nodded and bowed. It was surprising to get a day off. It was the first of it, but thanks to the lady, he could spend a day with his wife and their new kid.
As Veil claimed the driver’s seat, she mentally prepared herself for the task at hand. Yes, she could drive and also had a license, but she had never driven this class of car before.
Nervous hands crawled up the steering wheel and she swallowed hard.
“Is the car too sophisticated for you, Ms. Hart?” Anders’ domineering voice sieved through her, causing her to adjust nervously in her seat.
“Uhm…” Veil stammered slightly. “I’ve never ridden such before…” She bowed her head in shame as she replied honestly.
Anders stared at her for a moment, with eyes that gave no information away. Then he nodded.
“Just ignite the engine and take a deep breath, then you’re good to go.”
Veil took notice of the unusual calm in his voice, but she didn’t pay much attention to it. She simply did as he said, inhaled a nice mass of air, and ignited the engine. The way the car came alive when she did, overwhelmed her, and she found herself smiling. But Anders cut through her excitement.
“Don’t make me run late.”
“Sorry…,” she blushed, embarrassed at her display of… foolishness?
