Chapter 2074 How to do it
Chapter 2074 How to do it
After Isla left, the smile on Sheryl's face disappeared.
Isla was right. She had to address what happened to her. She had taken off her clothes in front of
Damian, and there were photos of her! She felt ashamed of herself and upset when she read the news
about her online. She just didn't expect all of these things would happen to her. Whenever she thought
about this, she couldn't calm herself down.
However, she didn't want anyone to see her like this as she didn't want them to worry about her.
Outside the hospital
Damian still hadn't left. He was still in his car, thinking about Sheryl. He was thinking of going back to
Sheryl's room, apologizing, and explaining. However, he was afraid that he'd end up hurting her again.
At that moment, Damian's phone rang. It was Duke. Damian picked up the phone and asked, "Have
you found anything yet?"
"Wait. Are you aware that everyone's talking about you and Sheryl? It's all over the press." Duke was
so worried. He hadn't been able to deal with the previous reports yet, and things were only getting
worse with this recent issue.
Damian knew this too.
Damian didn't say anything to Duke. Duke asked in a panic, "What are you going to do then?"
"I'll figure it out. In the meantime, do what I asked you to do before." Damian was also confused. He
was barely listening to Duke as he didn't want to explain what had happened at the hospital earlier. Content provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
Duke could tell that Damian was upset, and he couldn't force him. He only said something about the
investigation before hanging up.
After that, Damian kept silent in the car. His mind was still racing. If he hadn't gone to the hospital, this
whole thing wouldn't have happened. If he'd known that something would happen, he never would have
come in the first place.
For a while, Damian just stayed in the car, deep in thought.
In the Dream Garden
When Charles went home, he was in a bad mood. He saw that Melissa and Nancy were in the kitchen,
but he didn't say anything; instead, he just went upstairs.
In the kitchen, Melissa watched as Charles headed upstairs. Then she turned to Nancy and said,
"Please prepare Charles' favorite food. I think he's in a bad mood."
"Yes, Mrs. Lu." Nancy could tell how worried Melissa and Charles were about Sheryl. The only help she
could offer was to cook them some good food.
When Nancy had finished cooking, she went upstairs to give Charles his food.
In his study, Charles was just staring at a photo of Sheryl. He was upset and guilty. He'd done so many
wrong things that had hurt Sheryl.
"Bang! Bang..."
Charles gathered himself then he said, "Come in."
"Mr. Lu, would you like to eat something?" Nancy said as she put the dish on Charles' desk.
Charles saw that it was his favorite food; however, he wasn't in the mood to eat.
"Okay." Charles didn't refuse Nancy even though he didn't really feel like eating.
Nancy didn't want to force him, so she just hoped that he would eat a little.
"All right, Mr. Lu. I'll leave you alone now." Nancy bowed to Charles and turned, ready to leave.
"Wait a moment, Nancy. Will you go to the hospital with my mom?" All of a sudden, Charles recalled
that he had asked them to look after Sheryl in the hospital.
"Yes. We've already cooked Sher's favorite food. We'll go to the hospital in a while."
Charles looked nervous. Nancy thought that he wanted to go to the hospital with them. However, just
as she was about to ask him, he suddenly said, "Okay. Please don't ask Sheryl any questions." Charles
was worried that Melissa would bombard Sheryl with questions that could possibly make her feel
uncomfortable and maybe even embarrassed.
"Mr. Lu, don't worry. We won't ask her anything." Nancy nodded slightly before leaving.
Melissa was lost in her own thoughts when Nancy arrived. Upon seeing her, she asked in a low voice,
"How's Charles? Did he eat it?"
"Mrs. Lu, Mr. Lu, just told me to put the food on the desk. I don't know whether he's going to eat it or
not." Nancy felt helpless. She wanted to urge Charles to eat something, but Charles was stubborn. She
knew that, so she just didn't say anything.
"All right. Let's go to the hospital now. When we come back, we can check on Charles again." Melissa
looked at Nancy, seemingly upset. She felt so helpless.
Nancy and Melissa then headed to the hospital with all the food they had prepared. When they arrived,
they saw Isla by the entrance.
Isla noticed that Melissa was carrying some food. She figured Melissa was there to visit Sheryl.
Isla didn't like Melissa at all. Now that Charles and Sheryl were already divorced, she thought that
Melissa didn't need to visit Sheryl anymore.
"What are you doing here?"
"Mrs. Zhao, I'm here to bring Sheryl some food. She's not in her best health, so she needs to eat
something healthy. Nancy's prepared these because these are Sheryl's favorite foods." Isla was cold to
Melissa. Melissa seemed to reciprocate the feeling.
"Really? Are you saying that the food I'm bringing to Sheryl is not good for her?" Isla said with a cold
smile. She looked at Melissa then at Nancy then at the food. After a pause, she said, "Well, I can just
hand them over to Sher. The doctor doesn't allow so many people to visit Sheryl. You can go back. I'll
make sure Sheryl eats these."
Isla knew that Sheryl was kind to Nancy and treated Nancy as her family, so she couldn't refuse them,
especially since they'd already cooked for Sheryl. However, she wasn't going to let them see Sheryl,
especially since she wasn't exactly okay right now.
"You..."
"Mrs. Lu, let's go home. Mrs. Zhao will take good care of Sher. Don't worry." Melissa wanted to retort,
but Nancy stopped her.
Melissa knew better now. She wasn't going to be impulsive anymore. She took a deep breath and
forced a smile as she responded, "All right. Thank you, Mrs. Zhao."
"You're welcome." Isla was glad that Melissa had conceded. She chuckled inwardly, knowing that she'd
shown Melissa, who really had the upper hand here.
Isla watched as Melissa and Nancy left with a smile on her face. She didn't go back inside the hospital
until they were completely gone.
When Isla returned the ward, Sheryl could tell something was up. She questioned Isla, "What's up?"
"What? Nothing, nothing." Isla looked a little nervous.
