Chapter 1761 There Was No Free Lunch
Chapter 1761 There Was No Free Lunch
Holley knew that if she didn't have Ferry on her side, then Rex wouldn't have a reason to control
himself around her anymore. He would stop at nothing to take her down.
She knew how much Rex cared about Black. After what happened yesterday, Rex must be furious at
her. Rex probably thought that as long as he killed Holley, no one could ever hurt his dear son again.
Holley would have done the same thing if her son got treated this way.
As she thought of this, she shook her head and begged Ferry, "Please, I'm begging you. I don't want to
die yet. I know the Hu family won't let me get away that easily..."
"Well, I can help you with that, but what do I get in return?" Text content © NôvelDrama.Org.
Ferry was a businessman. He wouldn't do anything if he didn't get something in return. Holley knew
that very well. Before she arrived, she had already thought of a plan. She took a deep breath and
smiled at Ferry. "Please, Ferry. I don't want to die. I will do everything you ask me to do!"
"What can you do?" Ferry sneered at Holley.
Holley knew that Ferry looked down on her. After all, he was so powerful that he didn't need Holley to
help him do anything.
"Everything!"
Holley was desperately trying to save her life, so she promised him anything just to convince him to
spare her life.
"Holley, you're completely worthless to me!" Ferry sneered.
Obviously, Holley wouldn't get what she wanted.
She was at Ferry's mercy. What could she do about that?
Holley fell silent as Ferry questioned her. She looked into his eyes, hoping that he would change his
mind and save her.
"What else do you think I could possibly need?" Ferry asked, taunting Holley.
Holly fell on her knees upon hearing this. He was right. He had everything. She couldn't offer anything
to Ferry that he didn't already have.
Her eyes welled up at the thought of this. Soon, tears were streaming down her face. She shook her
head and pleaded, "Please, just help me. I'm begging you."
"Holley, do you really think I'm capable of feeling sorry for you?" Ferry was very disappointed by the
fact that Holley was begging him.
He still remembered how Holley had treated the woman who he loved so much. He would never forget
that feeling. Now it was time for Holley to pay the price.
Ferry could kill Holley with the snap of a finger, but he didn't want to do that. If he killed her, he would
be doing her a favor. He wanted to torture her and let her live in pain. This was the best part of the
game, and he didn't want to stop. He enjoyed seeing Holley suffer.
Holley's sobbing kindled Ferry's attention. He cast a cold glance at her and smiled menacingly. His face
was dark and gloomy.
"Stop crying!" Ferry barked.
Holley fell silent right away. She controlled herself, knowing that she couldn't afford to make a sound.
"I'm not saving you. I don't care about your business with the Hu family. I have nothing to do with that.
You better come up with something you can do instead of just begging me to save you. You're just
wasting your time because no matter what you say, I'm not changing my mind." Ferry lifted a hand and
caressed Holley's face. Holley was left with no choice.
She had already anticipated that Ferry would reject her. But she still held out hope. Now that Ferry had
outright said no to her, she couldn't help but feel desperate.
When she left Ferry's house, she felt like her world was spinning. She lost her balance and fell to the
ground, her whole body shaking. She couldn't imagine what would happen to her if Rex found her.
Ferry stood in his home. He looked through the window at Holley crying, while he crossed his arms and
smiled coldly. "Holley, this is just the start. From now on, all you're going to know is suffering. I still find
it hard to believe that you were stupid enough to come running to me just to beg for your life."
Ferry's face turned gloomy. He knew that when it came to survival, people could get desperate, and
Holley was no exception. Holley's fate was now in his hands. He could end her life if he wanted to.
The contrast between Ferry's excitement and Holley's despair was frightening.
"Boss, what can I do now?" One of Ferry's subordinates wanted to seize this opportunity to please his
boss.
Ferry turned to look at the man. He smiled at him and pointed his finger at Holley. "Follow her, and
make sure she won't make any trouble for us. If you have to, then catch her and teach her a lesson.
But remember to keep her alive."
"Yes, boss!"
The subordinate left the mansion as soon as he got this order.
When Holley got into her car, she didn't start the car engine right away. Her mind was muddled right
now. She knew she couldn't ever go back. She just wanted to be alone. The only one who could help
her had rejected her. What else could she do?
Holley was worthless to Ferry. Her only hope now was Leila.
She knew that if she could help Ferry defeat Charles, maybe Ferry would change his mind and help
her.
After hesitating for a while, Holley took out her phone and stared at the screen. She wanted to go to
Leila. Leila was probably in a good mood right now since Charles and Sheryl were getting a divorce.
Maybe Holley could get on Leila's good side if she said the right words.
It was the only thing she could do now. She took a deep breath and dialed Leila's number.
Charles was giving Leila the cold shoulder so she was very upset. She didn't expect that Holley would
call her.
She angrily threw her phone away, refusing to take the call. She knew why Holley was calling her, so
she just ignored it to save herself the trouble.
But Holley was persistent. She kept calling Leila, and it irritated Leila until she decided to answer the
call. Leila asked impatiently, "What? What's wrong? Why are you calling me? It's so annoying! I've
already told you the price. Just be patient and wait."
"Leila, what happened? Why are you in a bad mood? We're friends. Isn't it normal that I call you?"
Holley asked, sounding concerned.
"I have no time for your nonsense. What are you calling me for? Just say it!" Leila snapped, furrowing
her brows.
Holley didn't expect that Leila would be so rude to her. She had such bad luck! Whatever Holley did, it
never went smoothly. As she thought this over, she realized the only person who could make Leila this
upset was Charles. She planned to use that.
"Nothing. I was just thinking how we haven't seen each other in so long. I miss you. How about we
have lunch together? My treat!" Holley excitedly suggested.
Leila's face turned gloomy, wondering why Holley was being so nice. For some reason, she knew that
Holley had an underlying motive. There was no such thing as a free lunch. Holley must be up to
something.
