Chapter 1730 Fear
Chapter 1730 Fear
Holley trembled at the mere thought of it.
Ferry saw this, so he purposely approached her then. He spoke in a contemptuous voice, "Holley, you
guessed it right. You're just a useless pawn in my chess game. If I have to, I'll abandon you. If you get
me angry, I'll kill you. So you better do and behave as you're told."
"I know you won't do that. If something happened to me, you'd have to deal with Charles, and that's
never good for you. So I know you won't do that." Holley had been thinking of this for a while, so when
she finally got the opportunity, she didn't miss the chance to say this to Ferry.
Ferry nodded. "You're right. But if you don't finish this, you'll have no use to me."
"Don't worry. It's happening. It's going to be done soon," Holley said to Ferry.
Ferry nodded with a contented expression. Then he closed his eyes, and didn't say another word.
When Ferry closed his eyes, his subordinate kicked Holley out of the car.
Holley wasn't prepared, so she just fell to the ground.
When Holley saw Ferry's car disappear, she was both relieved and worried.
What had just happened at the bar was serious. Holley didn't know what would happen next or how to
deal with it. Ferry was driving her crazy.
The night wind blew. Holley shivered in the cold, so she hailed a cab to go home.
In the police station
The police were now overwhelmed. They were very well aware of who Black was, but they still had to
do their jobs, so it made them anxious.
They didn't want to offend him, so they treated him like a VIP.
Rex got a call from the police station. He thought he had misheard them. 'Black is at the police station?'
Rex thought to himself.
"Mr. Hu, if it's not too much trouble, would you mind coming over here?" the police officer said
helplessly because he really didn't know what to do anymore.
Rex hung up and went to the police station right away.
Soon, Rex arrived. It wasn't a big deal as Black had just hit someone, so it was quite easy for Rex to
bail him out.
Rex talked to the chief of the police station. But when he was finally allowed to bail Black out, Black
then refused to leave with him!
"No! If you can't allow me to be with Holley, I won't go back with you," Black said to Rex, with a serious
expression on his face.
Rex couldn't believe what his son had just said. 'My son's threatening me over some woman?' he
thought to himself.
"You bastard! I'm your father. What gives you the right to threaten me?" Rex barked as he glared at
Black.
Black took a deep breath. He realized that his father was really angry, but he continued, "I'm not
threatening you. I just want to be with the woman that I love. Dad, why won't you just let me?"
One could see the emotions in Black's eyes. He thought that Rex would only want him and Holley to be
apart, even though Rex knew they loved each other. He thought that Rex was evil. It took everything he
had not to kneel in front of Rex and beg him to be with the woman that he loved.
Rex still hadn't said a word, so Black continued, "Dad, I really love Holley. I can't be without her, even
for just a second. I'm staying here unless Jason leaves Holley alone. That's the deal!"
When Black finished speaking, he lay down on the cell's lumpy mattress, closed his eyes, and
pretended to sleep.
This only angered Rex further. He had already realized that Black would refuse to come with him, and
he didn't want to lose face, so he just turned around and left.
In the Hu Family Mansion
Rex was in a terrible mood after having just come back from the police station. He made a mess in his
study room—throwing and tossing things around out of anger.
"Sir, calm down. Please, be careful." The servant had been working for the Hu family for so many
years, but he'd never seen Rex get mad like this. He couldn't help but feel concerned for his master.
"Get out!"
The servant had no choice but to leave.
"Damn it! Why is my son like that?" Rex was fuming. He could feel his heart twisting in despair and his
chest tightening.
After a while, he decided to rest and sit on the sofa. He sat still for a few moments. Then, as if he'd just
thought of something, he took his phone out and started dialing.
He knew this was his only hope. If he didn't resort to this, he would lose his son to Holley.
"Ferry, long time no see," Rex said calmly when Ferry answered his call.
"Mr. Hu?"
Ferry feigned surprise. If Rex was there, he'd have been surprised by the look on Ferry's face right
now.
"How are you?"
"Mr. Hu, what is the purpose of your call today? What can I do for you?" Ferry said respectfully, as if he
meant it.
Rex didn't exactly like Ferry. He knew Ferry didn't respect him that much, and he believed Ferry was to
be blamed for what had happened to Black.
"I'm going straight to the point. I need a favor from you, and I'll reward you in return." Rex didn't beat
around the bush at all, and he was straightforward as he spoke with Ferry.
"What is it? As long as I can do it, I'll try my best,"
Ferry promised. If Rex's request was reasonable, he would try his best to do it.
"Okay, it's about..."
Rex informed Ferry of his request.
After listening, Ferry agreed. "Don't worry, Mr. Hu. I'll handle it."
Then they discussed the payment terms and hung up.
Ferry looked at his phone with a proud smile on his face. 'I knew he'd give in and call me. I just didn't
expect it to be this soon, ' he thought to himself. Material © NôvelDrama.Org.
After a while, Ferry called Holley.
Holley had just gotten home. She was getting ready to go to bed when she heard her phone ring. She
trembled in fear when she saw that it was Ferry calling.
She snorted as she picked up the call.
"What's wrong?"
"Am I not allowed to call you if there's nothing wrong?" Ferry said, sounding displeased.
