The Agent’s Badboy

Chapter 11 The day she met the new neighbor

A couple of days later she was busy with her desk work. The morning passed by like a blip, she was working on her board and taking notes on her files from her previous visit to his mansion.

The lust and hate she felt towards the tattooed drug dealer didn’t stop her from jotting down details of his mansion. The death of the Voloshin brothers was kept on her restricted notes under an undisclosed informant.

Then by the end of the day, her boss called her to his office, and she was confirmed to be assigned on another case. He told her that the embezzlement case that she was supposed to handle, had just changed to a priority case when he said that he needed her expertise on tracking down a new gun cartel that was detected by their spotter.

“This will be a new investigation, agent Federova. I want you to be the lead agent on this one,” he stated as he gave her the files.

“But Sir, with all due respect… the Sokolov cartel, we got insights on their operations. With the last shipment bust, I think we should…” she wanted to make new progress in her work.

The years spent on The Sokolov cartel, she wanted to tear down their organization bit by bit. A significant step up to her case. She thought she could bring forward at least about the questionable disappearance of the Voloshin brothers.

“Agent Federova,” her superior looked annoyed at her.

“Sir, I have new…”

“Are you seriously questioning my decision?”

“I’m sorry sir, of course.” She finally backed down and keep herself quiet and follow his instruction.

That very late afternoon, she was holding a prompt meeting with the newly recruited agents. She was hating the fact that what her superior said about leading the investigation was more to babysit sets of new recruits.

Her workday finally ended when she had filled in all the recruits with the agency standard transfer of information. She arrived back at the apartment at almost nine in the evening and whenever she arrives late, GusGus was the first thing she called as she opens her door.

But Karla started to panic when she couldn’t find him. All sorts of bad scenarios were playing in her mind. She even called her housemaid asking if she accidentally let her fluffy baby out of the apartment when she was scheduled to clean her apartment that day. It has never happened before, but she was desperate for his whereabouts.

Then there was a knock at her apartment door, she hurriedly opens it thinking her doorman had found her Gus. But she didn’t expect a handsome stranger to be carrying her ball of fur.

“Oh my God, GusGus! thank you!” she took her only pet to her embrace. The fat cat purred in her arms, but then wiggled wanting to be let down. She put him to the floor and he struts his fat behind and went straight to his feeding bowl where Karla had filled with his favorite wet gourmet food.

“You’re welcome,” the handsome stranger gave her his warm smile.

“So, where did you find him?” she asked and smiled at him, wondering if he was one of the building’s new tenants.

“Well, he must’ve got into my unit when I was moving my stuff…” he said still at the front of her door, he didn’t mind that she was not letting him in and he wasn’t trying to push her. He was playing it cool and let her lead their conversation.

“Mrs. Lebedinsky?” she asked when he nods to the unit behind him with the still-open door.

“Nope, I’m Ardian.” He chuckled, making her bit her lip adorably.

She couldn’t believe that the man who saves her baby was also funny.

“I’m Karla.” She introduced herself after she let out a small laugh, then invite him to come in for coffee.

“Come on, let me thank you over a cup of coffee. At least let me greet you properly and tell me what happened to Mrs. Lebedinsky.”

“You sure? it’s quite late. I don’t want to bother your resting time.”

His polite reply, made her blush thinking that she was too forward with him.

“I didn’t mean…” he said as he noticed her awkwardness which he had anticipated. He was carefully reeling in her next words, he had been with every kind of woman to know what to say and what not to say. He was the modern-day casanova with a face to match.

“No, you’re right it’s late…” she said looking uncomfortable with the handsome stranger, but then let her smile form when he agreed to her invite.

“Well, maybe just one cup.” He cuts her words, then took his keys and locked his door when he saw the beautiful woman in front of him biting her lip sexily.

GusGus circled his legs when he entered her apartment. She smiles at her cat but then carries on with her task of making a fresh batch of coffee for both of them.

“So what happened to Mrs. Lebedinsky?” Karla opened their conversation.

“I actually don’t know, I was searching for a place when my agent called me and showed me the apartment. Then I had some cosmetic upgrade and just moved in today.” The handsome man shrugged and took the hot cup of coffee from her.

“That’s strange.”

Ardian was quick to cut her words and stray her thoughts to her fat cat.

“I have a female Himalayan, you can leave your cat with me whenever you’re home late.”

“Mmm… I don’t know,” she was hesitant in leaving her fat lazy cat with the perfect-looking man in front of her.

“They both get along quite well, and I’m usually just busy with my drawings. Didn’t even know he was yours until he asked to be let out and waited in front of your door, I swear he’s the cutest.”

His words made her think about actually leaving her cat at his, maybe in the next couple of weeks. He was new and she didn’t know anything about him. She was never really social with her neighbor.

“Yeah? are you an artist?” Karla asked when he mentioned that he draws.

He lets out a sexy laugh which made her sip her coffee and let the hot liquid make her forget about the sudden dirty thoughts she has of him.

“Sadly no, I’m a boring architect who sits all day selling sketches for money.”

He knows that Karla was in his grasp already when she hides her smile behind her coffee cup. They talk for almost half an hour until he excused himself saying that she should rest since it was still a weekday.

He was intentionally making her want for more. Knowing that by leaving early he was making her curious about him.

“I’ll see you around.”

“See you.”

Karla never felt something tickle her urges as the architect just did. There was something about him that made her interested in him.

“He was probably pulling his I’m trying to look cool by not showing her that I want her.” Her words flowed as she stroked Gus’s neck, then she smiled at him and kiss the fat ball of fur.Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.

“Yeah, I know baby. You’re the only one that I love. But seriously… what do you think of Ardian?”

She was in her tank top and panties and was about to go to sleep after her quick shower when her phone buzzed with an unknown number.

Karla knows it was Yegor and she stupidly smiled when she picked up her phone.

“You shouldn’t open your door to strangers.” Those were his first words, and it managed to make her feel like she was being watched and she did not like how it felt. So she didn’t reply to him and turned off her phone instead.

Yegor was pissed on the other line, he knows that she would probably hang up on him. But his possessive feel was stronger than ever and he didn’t like that she was talking to her new neighbor.

Something was looking suspicious, and he did not like it.
