That Day When I Got Married to My Boss at the Blind Date

Chapter 981

Chapter 981

The horizon was turning white as the sun gradually climbed into the sky. The weather was perfect.

The wedding car parade was extensive, with each car spaced ten meters apart. The entire Wavery was aware that it was the grand wedding of Russell Group’s CEO. It was no longer a secret marriage but a publicly and grandly conducted wedding ceremony.

Inside the car, Dexter sat in the back seat, dressed in formal attire, deep in thought. This is the property of Nô-velDrama.Org.

Just as Calvin was about to say something, the phone he was holding vibrated. Larry was calling. “Mr. Russell, we’ve found Justin. He has been seen frequently with a woman named Ruby Langdon. I’ve checked. She doesn’t seem to have any particular significance.”

Dexter pursed his lips. “Have the background checks been completed? What about her network of relationships?”

“We’ve done it. They are all insignificant individuals. Also, Justin is no longer in our custody. He has been taken by another power, located at the border between Rivodia and Wavery.”

“Who is it?” Dexter squinted his eyes.

By this point, the vehicle had already arrived at the Olsen Residence, with the bodyguards being the first to disembark.

“It was Claudia, the matriarch of the Olsen family.”

He looked up, his gaze meeting Claudia, who was standing elegantly at the doorway, waiting patiently. Her posture was graceful and virtuous.

“Find out the reasons and ensure the person’s rescue.” Dexter paused. “Inform me immediately once you find out.”

After ending the call, he finally got out of the car. He walked up to Claudia and respectfully greeted her, “Hi, Mrs. Olsen.”

Claudia never held back her admiration for him in her gaze. She nodded. “You won’t be calling me that anymore in the future.”

Amidst the hustle and bustle, Dexter stood, his expression as indifferent as ever. He asked, “Where is Mr. Olsen?”

“He isn’t feeling well today, so he will be arriving at the wedding a bit late. He might not be able to participate in some of the formalities. Please forgive him.” Claudia also received the notice at the last minute.

Dexter seemed lost in thought, his face showing no objections. “It’s alright.”

Dawn had broken, and Josie awoke from the chaos, her body aching all over. Her throat was so hoarse that she couldn’t speak. Even the slightest movement of her vocal cords felt as painful as rubbing against a stone.

Johnny and the others were still playing cards, paying no attention to her.

She gazed towards the distant azure horizon, feeling an impending sense of desolation as if a storm was about to ravage the wilderness.

It was Dexter and Heather’s wedding day, and quite possibly, it could also be her last day alive in this world. This is truly unbearable. I don’t want to come back again in my next life.

Johnny noticed her absentmindedly gazing into the distance and, for unknown reasons, said, “The wedding won’t start until later. Think about what you want to say to your family. If I’m in a good mood, I’ll pass on your message when the time comes.”

Josie chuckled, her voice raspy as she said, “You’re an assassin, but you still have a sense of humanity.”

Johnny slammed the cards onto the ground, his voice harsh and filled with malice. “Enough with the nonsense. You only have this one chance.”

Last words, huh? Josie tilted her head back. In the truest sense, her only family was Paul. Yet, she hadn’t found him until then. She felt guilty for not being able to repay his kindness in raising her.

As for Justin, he would soon know everything. She hoped that he wouldn’t blame her when that time came.

She thought her biological parents wouldn’t be able to accept the news of their real daughter’s death. They had no way to verify the truth of the news. They could only treat Heather as their own.

Heather had done it. She had truly taken over everything that was Josie’s.

Perhaps it’s better if I die. I wouldn’t have to bear the so-called moral shackles in life anymore. Josie was disheartened.

Meanwhile, when Dexter entered the Olsen Residence, he didn’t immediately seek out Heather. Instead, he requested a meeting with Mark. However, he was stopped by a servant.

“I’m sorry, but Mr. Olsen is not receiving visitors today.”

“Not even me?” Dexter asked.

“I’m afraid not.”
