That Day When I Got Married to My Boss at the Blind Date

Chapter 1112

A group of about twelve bodyguards emerged from the opposing vehicle, forming a barrier in front of the car, facing off against Dexter’s men. Moses unbuckled his seatbelt. “I’ll go down and check it out first.”

Upon seeing this, Paul asked, “Why did we stop, miss? Aren’t we going to see Jo?”

“The traffic is jammed, let’s wait for a while.” Josie tightly held Paul’s hand to comfort him.

Moses exited the car. He spoke to the men in black and glanced back. After a moment, Moses returned and said, “Arnold specifically asked to see you.”

Josie furrowed her brows. “I won’t meet him.”

“He said…” Moses was in a dilemma. “If you refuse to see him, Paul will have to bear his own illness.”

Josie immediately became anxious. “At this point, he still dares to threaten me with Paul!”

“He also mentioned that the situation in Rivodia is currently tense, but you need not worry about any danger.”

Josie thought the same. Besides, there were so many of Dexter’s people there. Arnold didn’t have the courage to harm her directly, and she wasn’t the one he wanted anyway. “I’ll go.”

Josie comforted Paul with a few words, then pushed open the car door. Wearing her high heels, she walked step by step toward Arnold’s car. He, as always, was faithfully devoted to his Bentley.

She looked down at him from her elevated position inside the car. Arnold personally opened the car door, his face adorned with a pair of dark sunglasses. “Please.”

Taking a deep breath, Josie finally took a seat. “Speak, if there’s something you want to say.”

“Paul has been discharged from the hospital. I came to congratulate you.” Arnold said as he poured a glass of red wine. He swirled it around before placing it in front of her. “It seems you’ve received the medical report. It should prove that I didn’t mistreat him.”Content is © by NôvelDrama.Org.

Josie glared at him. “You’re a monster!”

Arnold’s expression remained unchanged. “I took good care of your father for two years. I fulfilled my duty towards him. There’s no reason for you to berate me.”

“You’re worse than a monster.” She exclaimed emotionally, “If it weren’t for you, Paul would never have developed dementia.” How dare he say such a thing!

Arnold didn’t respond to her statement. Instead, he gestured towards the glass of red wine in front of her. “Dexter is quite skilled, able to manipulate someone with just a few words. It seems you’ve already forgiven him.”

Josie steadfastly refused to drink. “You are all cut from the same cloth. If you wish to torment me in the future, do as you please, but leave my family out of it. My family is innocent.”

“Others may be innocent, but Paul certainly isn’t,” Arnold declared loudly.

“What do you mean?”

“Mr. Dalton’s sister tragically died on your father’s operating table back then!”

The implications of that statement were profound, and Josie immediately retorted, “Watch your words. I’ve read the report. All the doctors present did their best, including Paul. He has never been a doctor who takes lives lightly!”

“Perhaps he was indeed commendable, but what about the person involved?”

Josie calmed down. I suppose that makes sense. Mr. Dalton can’t help but resent the doctor who failed to save his sister, but what fault did Paul commit to deserve such retribution? “It was Mr. Dalton who ordered you to do this, you damn lackey.”

Arnold allowed her to scold him, unfazed. “Go ahead and have a drink. It will help calm your temper.”

Despite enduring her scolding patiently time and time again, Josie refrained from touching her wine glass. “I’ll stop scolding, afraid it might please you too much.”

Arnold raised an eyebrow, intrigued.

“Did you stop me today just to hear me curse at you?”

“Of course not, I simply wanted to remind you that our agreement is not yet finalized!” Arnold mysteriously produced a photograph from somewhere, and to Josie’s shock, it was of Paul!

In the photograph, Paul was seen taking some medication, although the specifics were unclear.

“What do you mean?” Josie inquired.
