Chapter 19
MADISON
Justin came back in and I am scared, he has that crazy look on his face. “That bastard managed to convince more wolves to join him. I bet you are pretty satisfied with yourself.”
“Well, I did tell you that he was coming.”
“Well, little miss I know everything, Here is something you don’t know. I am not letting you leave this cabin without my mark. So buckle up, this might hurt.” I can see him bare his fangs. His canines dripped with drool.
I scream. Struggling against the binds. Then the lights go out. “Fuck, what now?”
He kisses my neck. “I am going to take care of this, then I will be back. Don’t even think you are getting out of this.”
I can hear the door open and slam shut. I don’t know how long I sit there in total darkness, but it isn’t long before the door opens again. The door closes again. “Please Justin, don’t do this. I don’t want you to mark me.”
I catch a scent but it isn’t Justin. “Curt?”
“Yeah, dude you look like shit. You should really talk to the hospitality management in this place. It leaves a lot to be desired.”
“Curt, can you just please untie me?”
“I’m getting there. I can’t see a knife. Hold still, I don’t want to scratch you.”
“Couldn’t feel any worse than I already do.”
“Yeah, but if I scratch you Ethan will kill me. It’s bad enough he may blind me after this.”
“Please, like I would let him.” I can feel my restraints loosen. “You are the one saving me. Why are you the one saving me?”
“Because Ethan thought his best warrior would be best suited to rescue you. Besides, he thought the others would focus on him. Leaving me free to focus on you. Turns out he was right, no one paid me much attention when I made my way to you.” I feel my feet clear. I rush to the dresser and feel for a shirt and pants. I need to be covered before anyone else sees me.
“Well, I appreciate the rescue, let’s get the fuck out of here before Justin gets back.” I am moving and dressing at the same time. We don’t even make it to the door before it is opened again.
“I told you that you weren’t leaving here without my mark.”
I cringe. “Justin, just let me go. I don’t want your mark. You can find another girl.”
Curt pushes me behind him. Only I can see Justin aim a pistol right at Curt. “You are going to have to die. I’m sorry, but you aren’t taking her. Actually, I’m not sorry.”
I don’t even pause to think I push Curt to the side as the bullet fires. Taking the bullet that was meant for Curt. It hits my shoulder, but it is clear it is a silver bullet. I can feel it burn through my system. I am screaming while the sound of cracking bones sounds through the air. Another shot rings out and there is clawing of flesh and screams that echo my own. Finally after one loud crack the other screams die down. Mine are quickly consuming me. I whimper and whine, begging for the burning to stop.Content bel0ngs to Nôvel(D)r/a/ma.Org.
“Damn it woman, what the hell were you thinking?” My skin tears and I can feel fingers digging in my flesh as the burning continues. After a minute the burning starts to die down. “Stay with me Madi, don’t you dare fucking die. Ethan will kill me if you die.”
I cough, “Good to know you care.” I can hardly catch my breath. I feel like fucking passing out. Not only that, but I want to pass out. Or maybe die. Neither option sounds good at this point.
“Just stay the fuck with me Madi.”
“He cut up my back too. I think it might be too much silver.”
“Don’t fucking say that. You can pull through. Just keep it together a little longer.”
“If I don’t make it, tell Ethan it was him. It was always him.”
“Don’t you think he already knows that. Don’t fuck with me Madi, you are not dying now. Why the fuck did you take that damn bullet? It was meant for me?”
“I will be damned if I will let someone die for me.” It comes out as a mutter. Then it is all dark.
