Chapter 98 Am I Interrupting Anything
Chapter 98 Am I Interrupting Anything
It was Spencer and Celine in the photo! They looked very young. Celine was smiling while Spencer
was nervous.
'I should have seen this coming,' Fiona thought. Her heart broke into pieces.
A long time ago, when Spencer's wallet had gotten wet, he had taken out the photo immediately and
treated it like a treasure. He hadn't even let her touch the wallet.
Now, it was right in front of her and she couldn't help but look.
The atmosphere became cold and heavy. Spencer swiftly bent over and picked up the photo and
placed it back into his pocket. He had tried his best to avoid this very incident, but it had happened
anyway. Fiona had seen something she wasn't supposed to. 'Damn it,' he thought to himself.
"I had no idea that you still kept the photo!" Celine said happily. "How time flies! There are some
feelings that can't be changed, though. That's the best thing about us!"
"Stop it!" Spencer gulped.
"Why should I stop? Is it because Fiona is here? Does it make you feel awkward?" Celine gave him a
sleek smile. "Never mind! She knows about our relationship!"
"I told you to stop this!" Spencer shouted.
When he yelled, Celine's face became gloomy and tears welled up in her eyes. Fiona was perplexed
about the whole situation. She took a look at Spencer and saw him struggling with the dilemma.
"Spencer, we're all here today. Let's come clean about everything," Celine said after a little while, her
lips quivering. "I don't want to assume how you feel, so tell me... do you still love me? Is there a future
for us?"
It was clear that Celine had no qualms about speaking her mind. She didn't care that Fiona was right
next to her. However, Fiona didn't want to involve herself in that conversation.
"Whatever is going on between the two of you doesn't concern me," she sneered. Then, she frowned
and got up to leave.
"Don't go!" Spencer grabbed her hand in one swift move. Fiona tried to relieve herself from his grasp
but failed. "It's good that we're finally talking about this. We need to sort this out," he added.
Celine was anxious. Her face looked grim as if she were facing the executioner. She regretted her
decision to bring this matter up. She saw that Spencer couldn't take his eyes off Fiona and that he was
tightly holding onto her hand. She had a feeling that he was in love with Fiona.
"Don't say it," Celine said in a meek voice as she let out a wry, self-mocking laugh. "I... I don't want to
hear it. Spencer, I'm tired, so I'm going to sleep. If you have something to say, we can talk about it
later."
"There's no time like the present." Spencer seemed to have made up his mind. "Since you wanted to
know, let's make things clear."
"I don't want to know. I'm not interested anymore!" Celine screamed, shaking her head and stepping
back.
"Celine, you are my sister. We don't have a future," Spencer said coldly and frowned. "We didn't have a
chance six years ago. We don't have one now. Your return here shocked me and I remembered
everything between us that happened in the past. But time flies. Those days are long gone now."
Fiona's eyes grew wide with shock.
"I thought I tried to avoid you because I'm married and I don't want to disappoint Grandpa. But now I
know I just don't love you anymore. I only think of you as my sister. I have no feelings for you. I'm
married to Fiona and I want to live a long and happy life with her," Spencer said firmly.
Fiona's heart raced as she heard these words.
Spencer dragged her and left the apartment while she was still in shock. It left Celine feeling
depressed. She couldn't take this anymore.
'Damn it! I'm screwed,'
Celine thought to herself as she collapsed to the floor and felt a sharp pain in her heart.
Spencer grabbed Fiona's arm and raced downstairs.
"Hey! Slow down!" It was difficult for her to keep up with Spencer. She looked down at the stairs under
her feet and was petrified.
"Okay." As soon as he finished talking, he stopped and turned around, looking at Fiona.
Fiona was standing two steps above him and their eyes met at the same level.
"Hey... why were you racing down?" Fiona gasped for a breath of air and automatically forgot about
what Spencer had just expressed.
"I ran very fast." Spencer saw that she couldn't bear to look at his eyes as she spoke. He pushed her to
the wall, got close to her ear, and said in a soft voice, "Why won't you look at me, Fiona?"
Fiona was pressed to the wall as Spencer held her shoulders. She made it a point to not look at him.
"Let me go, Spencer! Someone might come!"
"No one is going to come. We haven't finished talking yet," Spencer said without knowing that his eyes
had the most loving expression he had ever shown to her.
"Let's talk later." Fiona bit her lower lip.
"No! Let's talk now!" Spencer inched closer to her. "Were you even listening to what I just said?"
"Yes." Fiona's voice was feeble and soft, and almost inaudible.
"Do you understand what I meant by that?"
"I... I don't understand." Those words slipped out of her mouth involuntarily. She didn't know if she
really didn't understand what he meant or if she was just acting like it to spite him.
"You don't understand? How can you not understand?" Spencer asked, feeling anxious. "I expressed
my feelings for you. And you still don't understand?"
"What did you mean by that?" Fiona raised her head and looked into his eyes. "Let go of me!"
"Fiona..." By now, Spencer was frustrated and worried. "You really don't understand?"
"What do you want me to understand?"
"I..." When Spencer tried to speak, his face flushed a deep red. In the end,
he lifted her face gently and kissed her lips. He wasn't good with words but his actions made things
clearer.
"Mmmph..." Fiona froze with her eyes wide with shock. She was stiff as a rock, just like the wall behind
her.
He kissed her passionately, as if he wanted to express all his feelings for her in just one kiss.
They were still standing on the staircase, and someone could walk in on them at any time. Feeling
tensed and worried about this, Fiona tried to push him away, feeling shy.
"Focus..." Spencer said in a low voice as he withdrew. Fiona's hands rested on his shoulders.
Her face blushed a bright pink.
"You... jerk..." Her voice was weak. Not daring to look into his eyes, she gazed down. "Let me go.
Spencer..." However, her weak protests only made him kiss her again.
He wanted to absorb all of her at that moment. He didn't want to let go of her.
Fiona's body was entwined with Spencer's. She wanted to escape but she couldn't. She could barely
even catch a breath. But he didn't want to stop. All her senses were clouded with Spencer's smell and
taste.
She had no idea how she could feel soft at heart while she was being held so violently.
"I'm married to Fiona and I want to live a long and happy life with her."
What Spencer had said earlier echoed in Fiona's mind. Suddenly, they heard someone whistling and
humming a tune,
followed by the sound of footsteps.
'Someone is coming!'
Fiona's hazy mind instantly cleared up. Frightened, she bit Spencer's tongue.
Feeling a sharp pain in his tongue, Spencer immediately let go of Fiona. He was frustrated at first but
his anger faded almost instantly when he looked into her eyes. Her pupils were dilated and she was
looking at him with doe eyes. The panic on her face made his heart melt. This woman was so beautiful.
Fiona felt so suffocated that she kept gasping for a breath of fresh air.
Seeing this, Spencer had an urge to kiss her again.
He heard someone call out to him. "Spencer?"
When Spencer heard the familiar voice, he immediately turned around and was shocked. Eric stood a
few steps below them with his mouth wide open. He was so surprised at the scene. "Um... am I
interrupting anything?"
Spencer quickly tried to hide Fiona behind him to block Eric from seeing her like this.
"What do you think?" Spencer glared at him and yelled. "Of all the times in the world, you chose to
come now?"
Eric took a step back, trembling. "I had no idea! I came here to tell you it's time for lunch. I didn't expect
that you would be here having a romantic moment with your wife."
Fiona's head buzzed with embarrassment.
She felt like she was going to explode if Eric teased her one more time.
"I didn't see anything! I swear!" Eric added as he sprinted away. "Spencer! I really didn't see anything!"
Fiona and Spencer stood on the stairs, both of them feeling shy and embarrassed. Spencer turned his
back to her with a nervous expression.
"I... I need to go to the piano room!" Fiona blushed and her cheeks turned a beautiful shade of rose. This material belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.
"Well, go on then," Spencer whispered softly.
"Then let go of me..."
"What?" He tilted his head and saw her hands in his. He wasn't ready to let her go just yet. "I... Fine. I'll
let you go."
