Chapter 34 Corey Is a Good Friend

Adrian was level–headed and mature beyond his years, wiser and more knowledgeable than most. Listening to him during a meeting was enjoyable, and one could learn plenty from him.

Corey had long since noticed Germaine’s feelings for Adrian. Once Adrian left for his meeting, Corey asked, “You’ve been by Mr. Locke’s side while I’ve been gone, Gem. Has he thanked you personally?” She didn’t answer. Instead, she asked him about Farrah. He wouldn’t tell her about his feelings or his rejected confession, but he did say, “Her name is Farrah Tate, and she’s my high school classmate. She’s very optimistic and has a great personality. She’s the persevering type, and everyone loves her!

He smiled when talking about Farrah. He kept singing her praises, which wasn’t what Germaine wanted to hear. “How is she and Mr. Locke related?”

This caught Corey off guard. “Are they? They’re just your typical superior and subordinate, aren’t they?”

Germaine disagreed with that. Still, she could tell Corey didn’t know anything else.

When Adrian returned to his office after the meeting, Germaine reported to him with a document. “Mark. Lovelace is holding out on us, sir. According to what we’ve found out, three other companies in Ronson City want to work with him.

They’ve also arranged for people to pick him up at the airport, hoping to catch him then and there.”

Adrian sat at his desk, looking calm. “The more he’s like this, the more we must be prepared. We have to cater to his preferences and butter him up. Sincerity is the key to winning him over.”

Germaine placed the document on his desk. “These are his likes and dislikes–it seems he’s quite the

foodie.”

“Alright. I’ll go through this.” Adrian took the document. “You can get back to work.”

“Yes, sir.”

Working with Mark was a goal Adrian had set many years ago. Their collaboration would yield a handsome profit and solidify Prestige Group’s international presence. No successful entrepreneur wouldn’t want to make more money.

Adrian put the rest of his work on hold to review Mark’s likes and dislikes. That was enough to show how important this matter was to him.

As he read the document, he noticed something important–whenever Mark came to Ronson City, he would go to a dessert store named Fairytale Cottage and order a dessert called Sweet Sun. He would do this regardless of how rushed his schedule was. And yes, he did it every time.

Adrian couldn’t help wondering how much Mark loved that dessert. Although his time was precious, would still go in person to have it.

he

If he could purchase this dessert and bring it to Mark at his hotel, would it be a surprise for the latter? At the same time, Adrian was curious to know what was so special about Sweet Sun, Couldn’t it be bought anywhere else?

He’d never heard of Fairytale Cottage, so he searched it online. It turned out to be a regular dessert store by the river. It wasn’t even a chain store.

This made Adrian wonder whether the desserts there really were that bewitching.

Chapter 24 Corey in a Good Friend

Farrah had already been standing for half an hour before a photocopy machine outside the design department’s main office.

Corey approached and asked, “Why do you have so many things to make coples of, Farrah?”

Farrah turned to look at him. “Have you already been discharged from the hospital?”

“It’s just a small injury, so I got discharged that afternoon.” Corey was so happy to see her that his eyes lit up. He also noticed that she was busy. “I think you’ve already been here for half an hour. I’m done with my stuff, yet you’re still here.” Content rights by NôvelDr//ama.Org.

“I’m almost done.” Farrah was used to running errands how. “None of these are mine, actually.”

Hearing the resignation in her tone, Corey frowned. “Did Ms. Gray put you up

She nodded. He said indignantly, “That’s not fair, is it? How will you have time to work on your things if you run errands like this all day?”

“So..” Farrah wasn’t the type to suffer in silence. She smiled at Corey. “Why don’t you talk to her on my behalf when

you have the time?”

After all, she did want to squeeze out time to work on her designs for “Enduring Moments.

“Sure.” Corey nodded. “I can do it right now.”

With that, he headed to Natasha’s office.
