Chapter 318
Chapter 318
Molly blurted out, "My brother ain't my boyfriend."
"What about me being your boyfriend?" Chad retorted.
"NO! You're my brother," Molly shot back.
Chad's face darkened. He grabbed her hand again, ditching the previous topic, and took her to her
favorite clothing store. He sat on the couch and let her try on clothes.
The day out went smoothly, but later that night Molly received a chilling news article from Chad. "A
college student brutally murdered his girlfriend after an argument and disposed of the body with strong
acid."
Molly got goosebumps after reading it. She posted on Insta, "Gotta stay chill and detached." and linked
the news.
Hansen, her dad, liked and commented, "Honey, that guy looks like bad news. Stay single in college.
It's safer."
Mia commented, "Chad trying to spook you again?"
It wasn't hard to guess who sent her these gruesome stories. Last time Molly thought about getting
married, Chad took her to watch a TV show about family disputes. After watching, Molly posted on
Insta, "Gotta hype up my fear of marriage daily."
Looked like she was thinking about getting a boyfriend again. Regardless, Chad always found a way to
make Molly ditch the idea of getting a boyfriend.
Leo joked, "Molly, your brother might have a thing for you."
"Duh, if he doesn't like me, does he like you?"
Leo didn't mean that, but Molly misunderstood.
One of the perks of Mia being pregnant was Leo's status getting a boost.
One day, Mia and Molly were chatting. Mia curiously asked, "Molly, you said that Leo's status would
drop after I got pregnant. But it seems like it's going up?"
Molly was also puzzled, "Maybe we should ask Naomi when we get home?"
"Is it appropriate to ask his mom?"
Molly nodded, "Naomi cares about you more than she cares about Leo."
They went home and asked Naomi, not feeling awkward or pulling any punches.
Naomi chuckled at their question. "Of course we have to treat Leo better now that Mia's pregnant. He's
your chauffeur now. What if he gets upset? He carries your books, drives you around, and does chores.
We have to keep him happy, or where else are we going to find someone so suitable?"
Hiring a driver for the Cedillo family would be a piece of cake. But finding a driver who went to classes,
helped with chores, and did homework was a tall order. And Leo fitted the bill perfectly, so the whole
family treated him nicely.
Learning the truth, they genuinely suggested to the family, "Spoil Leo a bit more. He's still a kid."
"He's not a kid. He's the same age as you guys."
Mia said, “Well Molly and I are still older than Leo.”
After that, they started feeling sorry for Leo, even doing his homework for him. Leo was clueless as to
why they suddenly started helping him with his homework.
Molly had a great taste for fashion. The maternity clothes she bought were super comfy to wear. It was
the first time Andre knew that there were special clothes for pregnant women. He generously bought 20
sets of maternity clothes, so Mia didn't have to worry about her outfits for the next six months.
One Wednesday, she took a day off for her prenatal check-up.
Andre accompanied her. He held his wife's hand as they entered the hospital and headed for the
elevator.
"Honey, wait a second." Mia suddenly stopped, looking at a lady in a black chiffon dress not far away.
"Isn't that Coleen?"
Spotting Coleen at the hospital alone, Mia mentioned to her husband.
Andre glanced, "It is, so what?"
"Is Coleen sick?" Mia looked up at her husband then called out loudly across the lobby, "Coleen."
Coleen seemed not to hear and quickly left the hospital lobby.
Mia mumbled, "Strange, why did Coleen leave in such a hurry."
She turned to her husband and asked, "Do you know why?"
Andre was speechles. How could he possibly know?
The elevator arrived again. Andre led Mia into the elevator. "Do you think Coleen's company is having
some problems?" Mia asked.
"I haven't heard of any problems with Chade Inc. Did Molly tell you anything?"
Mia shook her head, "She hasn't been paying attention to the family business either. She just said
Coleen has been taking medication lately. She and Chad accompanied Coleen for a check-up a few
days ago, but the results were picked up by Coleen's secretary."
Upon saying this, Mia got scared by her own thoughts. She asked, "Honey, do you think Coleen might
have a serious illness and doesn't want Molly and Chad to know?"
Andre thought for a moment and dismissed his wife's theory as unlikely. "If she were sick, she would
definitely get treatment and not hide it from the family. Maybe she's not sure about her condition, so
she hasn't told them."
Mia was led out of the elevator by Andre, "Do you think I should tell Molly about seeing her mom at the
hospital?"
"Say it if you want to." Andre didn't interfere with his wife's decision.
"I will then. I can't hide it from my best friend."
Andre smiled indulgently, wrapping his arm around his wife's waist. "You just can't keep your mouth
shut, can you?"
The doctor was already waiting for them, and Mia went in. The check-up didn't take long. She
obediently followed the doctor's and her husband's instructions.
After the check-up, she needed to use the restroom.
While Andre was discussing her and the baby's condition with the doctor in his office, Mia went to the
restroom alone.
Suddenly, she was drawn to a figure in front of her. Mia watched as the two shadows in front of her
disappeared into the elevator.
"What a coincidence, bumping into two old pals during a prenatal checkup. What's Finley doing here?"
Mia whispered. Nôvel(D)rama.Org's content.
Soon after, Andre came out of the ward, looking for her by the restroom. "Did you go already?"
"Right! Wait a sec, honey. I haven't gone yet." With that, Mia went into the restroom. She completely
forgot to tell her husband about the people she saw.
By noon, her prenatal checkup was over.
Ever since she got pregnant, Andre's co-pilot seat got an extra backrest and a small blanket. The
blanket was for when it was chilly outside. When Mia was in the car, turning on the heater would make
her dizzy, while opening the window would make her feel cold. So Andre prepared a thin blanket for
her.
The backrest was because she felt uncomfortable in her lower back when sitting in the car. Naomi
specifically bought her a backrest for the car.
