Chapter 1089 If You Want To Die
Callum glanced at Scarlett out of the corner of his eye.
Indeed, the child she was carrying was not fathered by Justin.
If this information were to be revealed, it would damage the reputation of the Fletcher family.
Of course, he wasn't worried about facing retaliation from the Fletcher family after making this
verification. He simply felt sorry for Scarlett.
She is a refined lady from high society, accustomed to a life of luxury and privilege. How would she be
able to survive in this world if her reputation were to be tarnished?
As the voices urging him grew louder, Callum decided to put an end to the suspense. In a calm tone,
he said, "The test results show that the baby in Ms. Fletcher's womb is not Mr. Xuereb's child."
No sooner had these words been spoken than they caused a stir, stirring up a surge of emotions.
What did this outcome signify?
The Fletcher family's daughter had acted without dignity, violating social norms. By conceiving a child
of unknown paternity, she shamelessly attached herself to the Xuereb family. Her actions were
infuriating.
Scarlett's eyes widened in disbelief as she stared at Callum, her voice trembling as she asked, "Did
you... Did you make a mistake? The child I'm carrying is indeed from the Xuereb family. Otherwise,
Justin wouldn't have married me. We even had a wedding ceremony."
Callum showed her the test report in his hand and said, "It's all there in black and white, Ms. Fletcher.
There's no way you can clear your name."
His words instantly provoked Scarlett, who was already on the verge of collapse.
She seemed to have lost her mind, pointing at him and cursing vehemently, "You unscrupulous
scoundrel, how dare you accept bribes and help the Xuereb family frame me! Just now, in the infirmary,
you said you would handle this fairly. But in the blink of an eye, you've changed your tune. Can you
really justify the official's cap you're wearing?"
After she finished speaking, she turned her gaze back to Justin and continued her tirade. "You're a
worthless man, a complete coward. How can you call yourself a man if you can't even admit your own
mistakes? I, Scarlett, must have been blind to have fallen for you. I'm telling you, I won't accept this
kind of evidence, let alone plead guilty."
Justin's face remained expressionless, displaying remarkable indifference.
All of this was part of his plan.
"Ms. Fletcher, you jest. You are Lady Scarlett, with the powerful Fletcher family backing you. Who in the
world would dare to cross you? If you're unsatisfied with this outcome and believe I'm deceiving you,
feel free to send high-ranking officials from the province or Dellmoor to investigate."
Scarlett's body trembled.
Justin always handled matters carefully, never giving others an opportunity to take advantage.
Now that he was so certain, it proved that he was fully confident.
Could it be that the child in my womb is not his?
No, no, no, the life growing inside me is my only hope. I can't afford to lose this last bargaining chip.
Just as she was about to continue arguing her case, Justin suddenly stepped forward, leaning in to
whisper in her ear, "I have evidence of you causing a major car accident. Scarlett, if you don't want to
spend your entire life in prison, accept your fate. Otherwise, your end will be even more miserable than
being expelled from the Xuereb family."
A deep fear flashed in Scarlett's eyes.
She didn't want to go to jail.
However, she knew that Justin wasn't trying to scare her. Bailey must have provided him with
compelling evidence.
The first time, Bailey, due to her relationship with her brother, did not send her to prison.
If she were to go through it all again now, she simply couldn't guarantee what her fate would be.
"Why... Why are you treating me this way? I love you so much. I've given up everything for you. Why
can't you just pause and look at me?"
Justin sneered, "You harm the woman and child I love under the guise of love, and you still delude
yourself that I would stop for you? Ridiculous!"
After a series of blows, Scarlett felt as if all the strength had been drained from her body. She slowly
slumped down the steps and sat on the ground.
Justin lifted his head to look at the reporters around him and said lightly, "That's the truth of the matter.
Please consider it carefully before you publish. I hope that after today, none of you will continue to
associate me with Ms. Fletcher. We have no ties whatsoever."
After he finished speaking, he began to signal his bodyguards to clear the area.
A reporter asked, "Mr. Xuereb, what are your plans for accommodating Ms. Fletcher?"
"Right, will you just sweep her out the door?"
Justin said calmly, "We're friends, after all. I won't kick her when she's down. I'll call the Fletcher family
shortly and ask them to send someone to pick up Ms. Fletcher from the Xuereb residence."
The journalists, unsatisfied, were eager to uncover something more valuable.
However, Justin's methods were too forceful, leaving them with no opportunity.
In just half an hour, he had cleared the villa of all unnecessary people.
Inside the living room, Justin sat on the couch, one leg casually crossed over the other, as he cradled a
cup of tea in his hands.
Christopher accompanied Olivia to the infirmary to treat her wounds, leaving him alone in the entire
living room, engulfed in silence. Content property of NôvelDra/ma.Org.
The butler walked in for the third time, addressing Justin, "Mr. Justin, Ms. Fletcher is still causing a
ruckus. The security room is in complete chaos because of her. Why don't you go and see her? This
might be your last chance. Once her family comes to take her away, you two will have no further
connection."
Justin looked up at him, his expression indifferent. "If you care about her so much, why don't you just
leave with her?"
The butler's face turned pale, fear causing him to step back. He obediently closed his mouth, not daring
to utter another word.
After sitting on the couch for a while, Justin slowly rose and began to walk outside.
Inside the security room, Scarlett was still smashing things, leaving the room in complete disarray.
"Go and tell Justin that if he doesn't come to see me, I won't leave. If he dares to force me, I'll die right
here in this mansion."
The security guards exchanged glances.
Things had escalated to this point, and they really didn't understand why Scarlett was still causing a
fuss.
Could she possibly believe that there is still a chance for her and Mr. Justin to mend their broken
relationship?
"Make another call to the Fletcher family. Tell them to hurry up and come take their person away," the
leader of the security team commanded coldly.
At that moment, the door opened, and Justin walked in from outside. "Everyone, leave. I want to have a
private chat with her."
"Understood."
After the security guards left, Justin said calmly, "Do you think I care whether you live or die? If you
want to die, just crash into a wall or slit your wrists with glass. You don't need to fantasize about
anything. I won't be moved in the slightest. Moreover, I'm going to sell this mansion and put an end to
your hopes of dying here to haunt me."
He spoke heartlessly.
Scarlett gave a sorrowful chuckle, her voice tearing as she asked, "Why isn't the child I'm carrying
yours? The sperm... It was clearly given to me by your mother. She said it was yours."
A wicked smile tugged at the corner of Justin's mouth, yet his gaze was icy cold. "Do you really believe
everything my mother gives you? Please don't misunderstand. Even my mother thought it was mine.
But in reality, what you received was merely a mix-up. About this matter, I know, Bailey knows, even
your brother knows. He gave you a chance, but you didn't seize it. You have only yourself to blame for
the state you're in now. You can't fault anyone else."
Scarlett, with her eyes red and raw, was enveloped in a bone-chilling cold that seeped deep into her
marrow.
Does Raiden know about this too?
