Chapter 4 Driven out of the House
“Dad, I’m sure Melody didn’t mean this.” Sandy stood in front of Melody and turned back to her and said, “Sis, could you please admit your mistake and apologize to our father. We are a family. There is no need for us to fight on this issue.”
“Admit my mistake?” Melody sneered, “What kind of mistake have I made? I’m not pregnant at all. This pregnancy test report, which I don’t know where it came from, sentenced me to death. It is better not to have such a family!”
“You bastard!” Anthony was furious. He picked up a whip and beat Melody mercilessly.
“Ah…” Melody felt a sudden pain.
Seeing this, Sandy stood in front of Melody. She knelt on the ground and begged, “Dad, please stop! Don’t hurt my sister.”
Beatrix rushed forward and pulled Sandy up. “Are you out of your mind? There is no business for you here. Go away!”
Anthony ignored them and continued to beat Melody. Melody’s white skin was covered with whip marks and blood.
Melody stood up in resistance and hid behind a porcelain bottle.
“Bang!”
The bottle fell down and with a loud noise. Anthony looked at the debris on the ground in consternation and did not dare to believe it. “I have kept this old bottle for 20 years!!”
Words fell along with another whip.
“Ah!” Melody shouted angrily, “You are not my father! I don’t deserve a father like you. First you followed this woman’s evil advice and killed my mother. Now you are following her again to kill me. I hate you!”
“Don’t you dare say that again! If it weren’t for me, how could you live until today? You unfilial rat!” Anthony waved his whip with a ferocious look.
Melody couldn’t find a place to hide. Sandy finally broke free from Beatrix and held Anthony’s arms. “Dad, please! If my sister really carries a child, you would kill the baby!”
“That’s even better to prevent any shame on us!” said, Anthony gnashing his teeth.
“I’m not pregnant! Why don’t you believe me?” shouted Melody hysterically.
“You…” Anthony wanted to hit Melody again, but was stopped by Sandy. “Fine! You said you don’t have a father like me, so be it! From today on, you are no longer my daughter!”
Hearing this, Melody staggered and fell to the ground again, her face turning white.
“Now get out of here!” Anthony threw the last whip on her, as if breaking the relationship between father and daughter.
Melody gritted her teeth, staring at her father with hatred. “Alright then! Don’t expect me to come back! You have destroyed all my kindness and respect to you. From now on, you will never be my father again!”
“Sis…” Sandy wanted to stop her, but was held back by Beatrix. “Sandy, this young lady has brought nothing but shame to our family. Why should we keep her in the house?”
“But…”Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
“Let her go.” Anthony was determined to drive Melody away. “I don’t have such a daughter, and I won’t let her ruin the reputation of the family!”
…
It was raining cats and dogs outside. Melody came out of the manor in a mess.
Her body was covered with scars. The wounds were bleeding. Melody felt a sharp pain when the rain touched her body.
There were only a few passers-by in the street, but no one cared about her because of the heavy rain.
Melody moved slowly. Exhausted, she finally stopped walking.
The rain not only blurred her sight, but also froze her heart.
