Mr. Wells noticed Alex by then. The surprise on his face immediately switched to pleasure as he extended a hand towards Alex.

Earlier on, Gavin had met Alex during the award ceremony in the afternoon.

“Mr. Jefferson, we didn’t have a chance to have a drink together earlier this afternoon. Why don’t we grab a drink later tonight?” Gavin clasped Alex’s hand firmly as he extended his invitation.

“Just call me Alex,” Alex winked at Gavin with a friendly smile.

Gavin was startled for a second but got the hint very quickly. Alex didn’t want to reveal his identity as chairman. Thus, he nodded his head swiftly.

“Come along, Mr. Alex. Let’s sit with Mrs. Hudson,” Gavin ushered Alex towards the head of the table.

Alex smiled as he followed Gavin who led the way.

Everybody’s eyes widened in disbelief; they just couldn’t believe what they saw.

Who exactly is this fellow?

Why is Mr. Wells so polite to him?

The expression on Zane’s face had become rather ugly.

Zachariah was rather affected too. Just as he thought he could move back to the city, Alex threw yet another curveball at him unexpectedly.

“Mr. Wells, do you know Alex?” Mrs. Hudson asked as she was curious.

Everybody just looked at Gavin.

Gavin was startled before he started laughing, “Looks like you guys didn’t watch the live telecast on TV today.”
