Chapter 711
However, Dreamlight's success was not solely due to my effort. I just did a few paintings to enhance the beauty of the houses. So, I couldn't take all the credit for such a big achievement. Of course, I did contribute to the success of the project, I wouldn't deny that.
After working hard for so long, seeing the great results that were far beyond my expectations really made me overjoyed.
But I couldn't really show how happy I was in front of my mentor. That would be too frivolous and might disappoint him.
"Thank you for your praise, Professor. And thanks to Dreamlight as well for such a high evaluation. I'll continue to work hard and strive for more good results," I responded humbly to express my respect and gratitude to the professor.
He played a significant role in my career as an artist. He had invested so much energy into nurturing me.
I could say that without the professor, there wouldn't be the Luna Lawson of today. To be more precise, I wouldn't have been able to achieve this level of success so quickly without him.
I sincerely thanked Professor King.
Colin looked at me with a smile, his eyes filled with joy.Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.
"Congratulations, darling," he praised me quietly.
Why did I feel like he was happier than I was? This must be what people said about happiness shared was happiness doubled.
The professor was very satisfied with my attitude. He rubbed his chin while laughing heartily before he said, "Very well. It's good that you're composed. You're neither arrogant nor impatient just because of your success. Luna, keep it up. Your future is bright, and you might surpass me sooner than you think."
These flattering words felt great!
"What about the bad news?" I asked curiously.
The smile on his face was gone immediately. Then, he cleared his throat apologetically while glancing at me with a hint of regret.
The professor turned to Colin and said, "The college has taken on a new major project, and the partners have specifically asked Colin to be the overall person in charge. So..."
The professor looked at me again briefly before he continued, "Colin you'll be getting really busy in the future. In other words, in the next year or so, you won't have time to indulge yourself in romance."
What?
This meant that Colin would be even busier than he was now in the coming year. Did this mean that it would be difficult for me to even see him?
I felt like I had been struck by lightning.
Why was it so hard for me to have a good relationship with the person I love, like going on dates, watching movies, taking walks in the park, checking out popular spots, eating out, and going shopping?
"Professor, there are many other
young and talented people in the college. You can't just put all the burden on Colin alone. He's just an ordinary person, he gets tired too. Shouldn't you at least ask forhis opinion?"
The professor raised his eyes to look at Colin. "Your girlfriend has become a well-known artist in the industry. If you don't catch up, how could you promise her a future?
"But I understand that young people nowadays want to stay in their comfort zone and enjoy themselves, yet they also want to be outstanding. However, one can only become outstanding by working hard.
"So, it depends on whether you want your partner to be someone who just follows you around or someone who can face hardships and fight for you.
"By the way, Colin, if you don't want
to take up this project, I can talk to the college for you. But I can't promise you that I'll succeed. After all, the partners insist on having you lead the project."
While the professor was lecturing Colin, he would look over at me with dissatisfaction. It was as if he was stabbing me with knives for holding back Colin, preventing him from conquering the world. The professor's words made Colin and me speechlessly look at each other.
