Chapter 10
Chapter 10
Queen Elisha glares at me. "How did you know?! No one should know!" she spat furiously. Her fist was
clenching. The ground was also shaking, and the wind blew furiously.
"Can you control your temper?" I said calmly while rolling my eyes. "Look, I saw your past. I didn't
mean to see it, it just flashed in my head when you touched me." I explained.
Her eyes narrowed more. "I don't believe you. Who are you??!"
"As I said earlier, I don't know. All I know is that I am different from everyone else." The ground stopped
shaking, and the wind came back to normal.
She sighed and studied me intently. "I can't even figure you out, which is strange. You smell like a
werewolf, a vampire, and then a witch. Are you a hybrid or something? Who are your parents?" I was
stunned.
Did she mention a hybrid? Am I? I looked at Layla when she spoke. "You also think she is a hybrid? So
I am right?"
Queen Elisha looks at us with a creased forehead. "Get in the car."
"Where are you taking us?"
"To my home."
"No. We don't want witches to kill us."
"I'll be taking you to my other home in the human, not in my Palace. Now, get in."
I looked at Layla, then she nodded. Great. I rolled my eyes and got in the car. Layla took the backseat.
So I have no choice but to sit beside Queen Elisha.
"Buckle your seatbelt." I just look at her with a creased forehead. Then she chuckled, "You don't know
how to put a seatbelt on?"
"Stating the obvious, duh," I said, rolling my eyes. She laughed and used her magic to buckle your
seatbelt. Cool. Then she starts the engine and drives away from that place.
"By the way, you cannot call me by my real name. In the human world, I am Sabrina Smith. What's your
name?"
"Nice name. I am Andrea Caliber." her forehead creased and then smirked. Looks like she knows I am
lying.
"And I am Layla Boehringer."
"You are a Boehringer? That's why you look familiar. You look like her..." Sabrina said while nodding
her head.
"Who?" Layla asked, intrigued.
"She's Michelle Boehringer, a friend of mine."
"What?" Layla said while her forehead creased and eyebrows furrowed together in confusion.
"She's also a werewolf, like you." I look at Layla and right now I can hear her fast heartbeat.
"Do you have a sister?" she shrugged her shoulders and said, "I don't know. I remember nothing."
"Maybe Michelle knows something you don't know." We nodded and sat in silence. Sabrina turned on
the radio and music blared. The entire ride, I just listened to music. I saw Layla fall asleep in the back.
"I know you're lying about your name," Sabrina mumbled out of the blue. I look at her suspiciously.
"Alexandria Gregory, isn't it?" my eyes narrowed, and I clenched my fist tightly. "Don't worry. I mean no
harm. I'll help you get to Tibbertan Mountains, but not so soon." I stare at her in shock.
"How do you know?" she smirked.
"As you did earlier when I touched you, I saw your painful past." I sighed. I think it's the ability of a
witch.
‘Yeah, Alex. But be careful with the Queen. We can't trust anyone like what your father said, okay?’
Willow said.
I know, Willow. But right now, I have no choice but to stick with her. She can help us go through those
mountains.
"Strange how I can't read your mind," Sabrina uttered and glanced at me.
I chuckled and replied, "I block you."
"Silly girl," she said, and laughed.
"Why are you helping us?" I asked her seriously.
"Let's just say, helping you will also help me with something I have been looking for," she said.
"You also want to go to that mountain, do you? You are looking for answers too, like me?" I asked.
"Yeah."
"Your parents also got killed," I mumbled. She grips the steering wheel tightly. She glared at me, and I
chuckled.
"I'm right then."
"Shut up," she said through gritted teeth.
Silence enveloped us. I left it like that. She became all mushy. I closed my eyes and released a long
breath, then drifted off to sleep.
~~~~~
I woke up at the sound of talking. I slowly flickered my eyes open.
"Finally, you're awake," Layla mumbled. Sabrina was already outside talking to someone. I look outside
and notice a house in front of us.
Layla suddenly became fidgety. I looked at her questioningly. "Are you okay?"
"The girl... Sabrina talking to is... Michelle." she uttered in a low tone.
What? I looked at the girl Sabrina was talking to. Sabrina was right. Layla has a resemblance to the
woman, Michelle.
Michelle looked at the car when Sabrina mentioned it to us. I can hear their conversation.
"Layla Boehringer?"
"Yes, do you know her?"
Michelle didn't reply and just walked towards the car. Layla was trembling in her chair. "Layla, it's
okay..." I tried to calm her. "Breathe okay?"
She nodded and did what I said. "Let's get out of the car." She nodded.
I opened the door and got out. Layla gets out slowly. I saw Michelle stop dead in her tracks while
staring at Layla's eyes widened.
Layla also eyed Michelle intently. My gaze fixated on the two while blinking unbelievably. They have a
resemblance! So Layla still has relatives? Perhaps her sister?
"Who are you?" Michelle mumbled slowly, in shock.
"I-I'm Layla Boehringer..."
Michelle creased her forehead. "Who are your parents?"
"Elizabeth and Matthew," Layla replied. Michelle's eyes widened again.
"They’re also my parents! How old are you?" Property © NôvelDrama.Org.
"Hm, 18," Layla mumbled shyly.
"Impossible." Michelle shook her head. "Are you my sister?"
"I... I don't know..." Layla said, dumbfounded. "I don't remember much about my childhood. My memory
was faint except when I was 6 years old and present."
"Huh?"
"Maybe I can help." Sabrina butted in. I wonder how old they are.
Layla and Michelle look at Sabrina, who walks closer to them. "Let me touch you both." Layla nodded
hesitantly.
Sabrina brought her two hands up and held Layla's and Michelle's faces. Sabrina closes her eyes and I
can also feel the energy.
I just stood there frozen because of what Sabrina saw. I also saw them even though I didn't touch
them. This was strange.
‘Because she touches you, Alex. Whenever she sees something, you can also see.’ Willow said.
What? Really? That's odd.
The images flashed in my head like a monitor. I can't believe what I saw. I was teary-eyed when I saw
my parents together with Layla's parents. They were best friends who got killed that same day. Layla
saw her parents die in front of her like me. Layla couldn't remember anything because of the trauma.
I remember when Layla was being thrown with me in the barn. I was happy because I've got a
companion. She was so silent back then and never talked until I made her trust me. Every night, she
was having a nightmare about her parents. The same thing happened with me, but it's not too often
unlike Layla's.
Sabrina released Layla and Michelle's faces, then flashed them a smile. "You two are siblings."
Both Layla and Michelle gasped in shock. "Michelle was living with her grandparents because she
wanted to live with humans. She doesn't know her mother gave birth to Layla. The couple always
forgets to tell about her sister. Until the day they died in front of Layla." I saw Michelle's lips trembling
and there was a mist in the corner of her eyes. Her heart rate also speeds up in nervousness.
"Layla got traumatized by what happened. Because of that, her body became weak and couldn't shift.
That's why she was thrown in the barn with Al... Andrea." Sabrina said while glancing at me.
"W-Who killed our parents?" Michelle mumbled while tears streamed on her face. Sabrina shook her
head.
"I'm sorry, but I can't see who killed your parents. It's a blur." Sabrina said sympathetically.
She's right. The person who killed my parents was the same who killed Layla's parents, and it's blurred.
Michelle and Layla look at each other sadly. "So, you are my sister?" Michelle uttered.
"Yeah, I guess..." Layla said awkwardly.
Michelle heaves a sigh and smiles at Layla. "Can I hug you?"
Layla looks surprised and hesitant. She looked at me for confirmation, and I nodded. I understand why
she was hesitant. Her whole life, I am the only person she hugs.
Michelle engulfed Layla in a tight embrace. "I can't believe I have a sister," Michelle mumbled in a
daze.
I'm happy for Layla because she still has her sister. Unlike me, I am all alone. Sabrina looks at me
while smiling faintly. I can feel Sabrina's weird aura. It's still weird that I can read her mind, but she can't
read mine. I didn't block her, though.
Sabrina was also sad. Like me, she's also alone. Her parents also got killed the same day as my
parents. It's a mystery why they killed our parents. Now, I can also feel Sabrina's sorrow.
"Let's go. Mich, you can come with us." Sabrina said when the sisters released their hugs. Michelle
nodded while smiling at Layla.
Sabrina walked towards the car and we followed, then got in. The sisters took the backseat and silence
enveloped us. I guess they can also feel bad energy surrounding Sabrina.
The engine started, and Sabrina drove away in silence. No one dared to break the silence, and I looked
out the window to see houses, cars, and buildings. We were in the city.
