Pursuing My Ex Wife in Full Blooming Spring

Chapter 182

Chapter 182

"Have you eaten yet? We haven't had any food yet. Come on, Olivia. Let's go get some food before we starve to death," Dylan said to Olivia in hopes of diverting her attention.

Olivia could sense the change in Scott's attention toward her. It was as though the distance between them was magnified, even more so than when she last saw him at the airport.

A twinge of pain shot through her heart, but she forced out a smile and said, "Dylan and I haven't eaten yet. We'll catch up with you later."

Scott found someone else, and the worst part was, that someone else was a woman who looked a lot like her. Olivia knew she could not force things to go the way she wanted without making Scott detest her even more. She had to play the long game.

With that, she turned and walked away.

Dylan let out a sigh of relief. He thought Olivia would not let this go.

He waved goodbye to Scott and shot him another meaningful look, trying to indicate to him that he would not allow such a "coincidence" to happen again.

However, Scott was not looking at him. Instead, he stared at Olivia's retreating figure and said, "Olivia, my answer is still the same as it was three years ago."

Olivia froze in her steps and finally, she allowed her face to fall. She stood there, pale-faced with shock, and did not dare to even turn around.

Scott continued to stare at her. "We're not right for each other."

His intentions were as clear as day.

Dylan was shell-shocked. He never saw anyone turn down someone else's affection so bluntly. He could not believe his ears.

"I think we should keep our distance from now on."

Scott's words came even more brutally honest than the last. It was as though he was worried Olivia would take things the wrong way again if he did not make his feelings clear.

With that, he hailed a taxi and got in. Within a few minutes of his last sentence, Scott disappeared from their sight.

Dylan was so stunned by this exchange that he stared, gobsmacked, at the retreating taxi for a long time before finally snapping out of his stupor. "Hehe!," he tried to reassure Olivia. After all, although he and Olivia were not particularly close, they had known each other a few years ago, so he had to spare her feelings.

He could not believe how bluntly Scott turned her down—and right in front of Dylan, too, no less! No woman would be able to handle this rejection, much less someone like Olivia.

However, Dylan did not know how to even begin consoling her. He knew his words bore no meaning anymore.

Olivia continued to stand here, her face as pale as a ghost. It was as though Scott punched holes in her armor, and now she was raw and bleeding.

Dylan could not help but feel bad for her. Scott's friends all knew how cruel he could be, and although he was not at all surprised to hear Scott say that, he still felt bad for Olivia.

Scott was a man who knew exactly what he wanted and was not afraid to go after it.

Although it would hurt Olivia to hear the truth, it was still for the best—that way, Olivia would not continue to waste her time on someone who did not reciprocate her affection.

It was not wrong of Scott to reject her, but he should not have done it in front of Dylan.

This was immensely cruel of him.

Dylan did not know what to say to this.

Olivia clenched her fists, her fingernails digging into her palms as her eyes brimmed with tears.

How could Scott have turned her down so bluntly? How could he have humiliated her in front of somebody else like this?

Scott was even more cruel than he was three years ago.

"Um, shall we go for lunch? Come on. We can get a drink or two later. It's on me," Dylan finally said.

This was the best he could do.

Olivia's eyes flickered momentarily, then she lifted her head, and her expression was calm once more. The hurt in her eyes disappeared and was now replaced by a cold, steely look.

She unclenched her fists. "Let me tell you something, Dylan."NôvelDrama.Org copyrighted © content.
