Chapter 830 I Only Got You
Chapter 830 I Only Got You
Queeny continued, “It’s not because I still care about you. It’s just that given our current relationship, I
should already be grateful that you’re willing to investigate those gangs for me. I don’t want to owe you
more, nor can I afford to. Can’t you see that?”
What she said was the truth as well as her innermost thought.
However, Felix laughed brusquely after hearing this.
“You don’t want to owe me? Queeny, you’ve already owed me a lot. What’s the point of saying things
like this?”
Queeny stiffened.
She inhaled deeply and then said in a bland voice, “Fine. I admit that. Felix, this is both pivotal and
dangerous. I don’t have anybody else I can trust. I only got you, you know? Regardless of our twisted
and checkered past, I know you’re the only one who won’t leave me high and dry when real danger
comes. So I can be back to you without worrying. Can you promise that you’ll bring me back safely and
catch those people who want to hurt me? You won’t let me down, will you?”
This was the first time in four years that Queeny had gazed at Felix with earnest and trusting eyes,
which gave Felix the long-lost stirring feeling.
As he looked at Queeny, his eyes glinted with emotion, and his Adam's apple bobbed.
A while later, he finally said “okay” in a husky voice.
Queeny smiled.
“Then, let me go out by myself and play your role as I just said. You will tell everyone I poisoned Bella.
After I go out in the evening, you’ll bring some of your men and follow me from some distance behind.
Don’t get too close. They are very cunning. From this poisoning, we can tell that they have sent
someone into the castle.
“Or rather, some of those in the castle are their members. I know the people serving you are
trustworthy because they have gone through a strict selection process. Even so, to play it safe, we’d
better not let too many people know about our plan.”
Queeny’s tone was solemn. Felix was also aware that this was no joke, for the two’s lives were hanging
on it.
He nodded heavily and said, “I see.” Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.
Queeny smiled at him and looked away.
“Go ahead then.”
Felix froze.
He knew she was telling him to carry out the plan.
He also knew that once he stepped out of this door, he and Queeny would, at least within today, be
hostile to each other.
Somehow, a sweet-and-bitter feeling rose from his chest.
Looking steadily at her, Felix said, “Queeny, after we find all those behind the scene and punish them,
can we sit down and talk?”
Queeny’s heart quivered.
Yet, she still didn’t turn her head to look at him. Instead, her eyes were directed at somewhere far away
outside the window.
After a long while, she answered, “OK.”
Gratified, Felix walked up to her, bent down, and placed a kiss on the top of her head.
Queeny’s body shivered slightly.
His low and sexy voice then said, “Queeny, I’ll be waiting for you to come back.”
That was just a simple sentence. However, it suddenly made tears well up in her eyes.
The time when they were head over heels for each other instantly flashed back to Queeny, as though
she was playing a movie in her head.
With her eyes tearful, she plastered a faint smile on her face and nodded.
“Okay.”
Then, Felix turned around and marched toward the door.
As he came to the door, he abruptly paused in his tracks, whipped around, and flung his arm. A vase
on the shoe cabinet was instantly knocked to the floor.
“Smash!”
The loud crash gave everyone a jump.
The servants outside heard a man’s furious voice say, “Queeny, surely it’s you! You poisoned Bella!”
Queeny’s cool voice then sounded from inside the room.
“I told you it’s not me!”
“How dare you deny this? You tried to hurt her again and again. I forgave you many times. I thought
you would not do it again. However, you not only did not reflect over your errors in the slightest but
stepped up your evil game. You really disappointed me!”
In a slightly enraged and clearly aggrieved tone, Queeny replied, “I disappointed you? Oh really? Bella
is really more important to you than I am, isn’t she? Otherwise, how could you have believed I poisoned
her just because she said so? In your eyes, I’m just a vicious woman who would poison others out of
jealousy, am I right?”
As soon as those words came out, silence fell in this place.
Inside the room, Felix was gazing at Queeny.
Perhaps because she had shouted too hard, her usually calm eyes turned a little red around the rims.
Inexplicably, Felix’s heart ached.
Still, he kicked a chair on the side hard.
The chair was sent flying and banged against the wall with a loud clash.
Through clenched teeth, he bellowed, “Isn’t that just who you are? You almost got Bella killed. I won’t
let you get out of this.”
Queeny sneered. “Then what will you do? You wanna kill me to avenge her?”
“You don’t think I would?”
“Then just man up and kill me!”
“Queeny Horton!”
Booms and bangs were heard from inside. The servants in the hallway turned pale at once. They were
at a loss. Just then, Donald rushed over.
Clearly, he had heard the noise in the room, for his expression was deeply worried.
Seeing the servants were rooted to the spot, he yelled, “What are you waiting for? Get in!”
The others then came to their senses and pushed the door open.
It was a mess inside. Queeny was still in the wheelchair, while Felix was standing in front of her, his
back arched, his hands tightly grasping her throat.
Astonished, everyone’s countenance changed. They scrambled over to rescue Queeny.
Donald also ran to Felix and exhorted, “Mr. Bissel, calm down. Don’t be impulsive! No matter what Miss
Horton did, she is Mr. Webber’s granddaughter after all. Mr. Webber had given you tremendous favors.
For his sake, please spare Miss Horton.”
Felix’s eyes turned less fierce.
His jaw was still set, yet he let go of her in the end.
Queeny instantly held her throat and bent down, coughing uncontrollably.
The servants in the room were all petrified. They hadn’t seen Felix behave like this before.
Felix just stood there, looking condescendingly at Queeny. The cold, forbidding aura around him could
freeze others nearby.
He remarked coldly, “I won’t kill you today. It’s not because I don’t want to but because you’re Mr.
Webber’s granddaughter. From today on, if I find out that you try to hurt Bella again, I’ll kill you and
throw your body to the wolves.”
Queeny raised her chin, locking her fiery eyes on him.
As he had seized her throat too tightly before, her voice became slightly gruff.
