Chapter 78
Chapter 78
Chapter 78 Trevor tricd to add Emma on Facebook before, but it did not go through. He sent her another friend request, but she deleted it again, even though he told her he had a file for her. She did not think there was any need for them to text in private, so she deleted the request. Cerys took a minute away from work to call her. “Why didn‘t you accept Mr. Bateson‘s friend request, Emma?” Emma was confused. “I don‘t think I have to do 1?” | Cerys was a little miffed. She whispered, “This is a really important file.” “He can text you the file, then you can text it to me. Or he can print it, and you can take it back home.” Emma did not budge. She didn‘t think he had any important files for her. They had been divorced for more than a year, and all the documents that needed signing had been signed during the divorce proceedings Cerys had no idea what to say. She sighed. “Mr. Bateson almost never accepts anyone‘s friend request. Never thought that someone would refuse his request.” Facebook was one of the biggest social medias, and most people would use it anywhere. Everyone would ask for someone‘s Facebook account right after they hit it off. However, Trevor almost never accepted anyone‘s friend request ever since he got an account, especially the women who were after his money. Cerys had a feeling he had less than ten friends on his friend list. There were probably only his friends, family, and employees there. Emma chuckled. “Well, try asking him why he wouldn‘t accept his fans‘ friend requests. His answer is my answer.” Cerys ended the call and went back to Trevor‘s office with resignation. Trevor was fuming after he was rejected twice. When Cerys came back, he asked coldly, “What did she say?” I swear if she‘s still rejecting me, I‘ll leave her for dead. I won‘t add her ever again. Cerys told him what Emma said. “She said you refused to accept anyone‘s request too, so she‘s refusing you with the same reasons.”NôvelDrama.Org: text © owner.
Trevor felt like he could burn everything to a crisp. He never accepted those women‘s requests because he couldn‘t be bothered with them, and they annoyed him. He never wanted to have anything to do with them. So she refuses to accept my request because she can‘t be bothered with me? And she doesn‘t want to have anything to do with me? He pursed his lips and took a few deep breaths, and he finally managed to hold back his anger. Cerys asked tentatively, “Um, should I print those transaction records and take them to her?” Trevor snorted. “No. She doesn‘t need my help, so she can perish.” I told her it‘s important. If she doesn‘t want to accept the request, then that means she won‘t accept my help. I don‘t need to waste my time on her. Cerys answered, “I see. I‘ll get back to work now.” She then left. Trevor hurled his pen away after he left. He wanted to vent his frustration after he was rejected twice. Cerys called Emma right before it was time to get off work. “You don‘t have to make dinner for me tonight, Emma. Mr. Bateson has an appointment, and I‘m going with him.” “Sure,” Emma agreed readily. She knew businessmen like them had appointments at night. Trevor seldom was home for dinner when they were married. It would be a miracle if he was home for dinner twice a week. However, he cut down on his appointments ever since his gastric acted up. She had made his meals since then. She wondered how he was holding up now that he was back to having more appointments, but that was none of her business anymore. She had a simple dinner and went back to her script. She texted Cerys at eleven, asking her when she would come back, and if she needed anything to sober her up. A while later, Cerys sent a voice message. “I‘m a little drunk, Emma. Can you pick me up?” Emma agreed without even thinking. She would help her friends out no matter what. When she arrived at the hotel Cerys was al, she was just coming out with Trevor and some other guys. Cerys could still walk, but Emma could see that she was frowning. She‘s barely hanging on. The men made small talk after they came out. Emma had no idea who they were, aside from Trevor and Cerys. She waited silently for a moment. Once the men started leaving, she went up to Cerys at once and held her. “Are you alright?”
1 Cerys said nothing. She leaned against Emma, telling her that she could not hold on anymore. Emma led her into the cab she came in earlier, ignoring Trevor, who had been standing beside them. She knew he had his own driver, so there was no need to ask. He had been stealing glances at her ever since she got out of the car, but she ignored him still. After she settled Cerys in, she bent down to get in the car. Trevor suddenly shouted, “Emma! Hold it!” She had lived with him for three years. She could see that he was drunk too, since he was speaking slower than he usually did. She pretended not to hear him and kept going into the car. She refused to talk to him, but then she felt someone holding her arm and pulling her out. Trevor held her in his embrace. She was about to struggle, but he closed in, and his breath smelled like alcohol. He glared at her. “Why didn‘t you accept my friend request? Why?” He was drunk and relentless. “You have to give me a reason.” “How much did you drink?” Emma thought it was unbelievable. Didn‘t he just get hospitalized for his gastric condition? Why did he drink like no tomorrow? “What?” He pulled her closer to him and smiled devilishly. “Still trying to control me even after we‘re divorced?” She felt like laughing. Hey, I‘m not controlling you, and besides, who can do that to you? Well, if you don‘t care about yourself, I can‘t help with that. She pushed him away. “Let me go. I‘m leaving.” We‘re divorced. We can‘t be seen hugging in public.
