Chapter 668
Chapter 668
"Male models? Felicia, what's the latest with you? One minute it's bar hopping, the next it's a male model show?" Grant was completely taken aback by my plans.
"Just having a bit of fun, can't you tell?" I joked with him.
Grant scrutinized me, as if trying to read my mind.
Without worrying about his thoughts, I laid out my idea, "Our company's organizing that music and lights festival, right? How about adding a human light show? Imagine the lights crafted into outfits worn by male models."
"Human light show?" Grant repeated, "You're quite the creative thinker."
His words made me chuckle, "It sounds like Mr. Smith here finds it feasible. You can go ahead and arrange it then."
"Sweetheart, you think it's as easy as just buying a jacket? It requires design and production; we're tight on time," Grant reminded me.
"I'm aware, which is why I'm asking you to take charge," I said with a playful pout.
"Your charms won't work this time; it's not going to happen," Grant shot me down, then added, "Unless Ernest were here, maybe he could pull it off." That stung a bit.
"I'll figure something out," my competitive spirit flared up, and I walked away after saying that.
Grant called after me, but I didn't stop.
Anyone could see I was annoyed by now. Grant caught up with me, out of breath, "Sorry, I shouldn't have joked about Ernest. Let's do the human light show your way. If there are issues, I'll handle them."
Seeing him back down, I couldn't stay mad, and offered a mock bow, "Appreciated."
Back in the office, I dived into work, but soon felt my eyelids growing heavy.
It was just like during my school days; never sleepy until the books were open. After two nights of insomnia, the drowsiness hit me hard. I dropped everything, kicked off my shoes, and crashed on the couch, instantly asleep.
I'm not sure how long I slept, but it was Grant's urgent voice that woke me.
"Felicia, wake up, I need a favor," Grant looked unusually panicked.
Still groggy from the sudden awakening, my heart raced. I lay there, mumbling, "What is it?"
"I need you to pick someone up from

Feeling utterly drained, as if sleep had siphoned all my energy, my voice was weak, "Why can't you go?"
Challenging the boss like that wasn't typical employee behavior.
"My girlfriend just called, she's hurt. need to see her, so you'll have to cover for me at the airport," Grant said while reaching out, presumably to help me up. Content belongs to NovelDrama.Org
But I didn't budge, simply replying, "Got it."
"Great. I'll send you his details and photo.

"Okay."
"Don't just 'okay' me, and don't go back to sleep. We're short on time," Grant reminded me from the door.
"Got it, now off you go," I waved him off, turning over. All rights © NôvelDrama.Org.
Grant added, "This partner is crucial."
Though apprehensive, he left. I closed my eyes, not to sleep, but to calm the unexpected panic in my chest.
For some reason, this unease was new to me, a hollow feeling as if my heart was in distress.
Maybe I should take advantage of Yates being around and get a check-up; these days, too many people drop dead from heart issues.
