Although Linda wanted to avoid contact with William she couldn't deny Group still relied on
that Felix him.
As the person with the most influence in Felix Group, Linda needed to attend events where William was present, like today's meeting.
When Linda and Wendy entered the conference room, William was already there.
The room was filled with people, leaving only the seat next to William available for Linda.
Linda glanced apologetically at the senior members of the office. "Sorry for being late. The snow was heavy last night, and there was a lot of traffic." "It's alright. Safety first."
Linda's apology was genuine, but not entirely so-it was just a formality.
She cast a brief look at William before taking her seat
"We can start now. It's the end of the year, and everyone is busy. Let's not waste any more time," she addressed the meeting host.
This was the year-end meeting, and William was present because he held shares below Linda.
"I have no objections. Though I don't understand everything, I trust everyone here. Just don't disappoint me," Linda said with a veneer of politeness. Over time and through her actions, the senior members were well aware that Linda's gentleness was all a facade.
It was merely a way to deceive others.
After the meeting, Linda returned to her office.
Lexi was having trouble adjusting to life in Osmo after living in Usna for a long time.
She had been running a fever since the day before and had started vomiting in the middle of the night, disrupting the family's rest.
Linda would have skipped it if not for the importance of this meeting.
She was exhausted and worried about Lexi.
There was a knock on the office door.
Linda thought it was Wendy with documents, so she weakly called out for her to come in.
It wasn't Wendy who entered but William, who held a gift bag.
"Mr. Wilson, is there something you need?"
Linda straightened up and didn't want to lose face in front of him.
"I was on a business trip in Idaly a few days ago and brought you a gift," he said while placing the gift bag on her desk
Linda looked at him and smiled.
"Thank you, Mr. Wilson, but there's no need. I'm past the age where gifts make me happy."
Chap 107NôvelDrama.Org owns this.
Linda casually twirled the ring on her finger.
"Mr. Wilson, do you remember the gift you gave me six years ago?"
William didn't understand where this conversation was going.
"That was the first gift you ever gave me, and I was thrilled.
"Later on, I found out that you only bought it because you couldn't refuse a salesperson's plea, not because of me. "Do you know how that feels?"
Linda continued, "It's like finding out that something you cherished for a long time wasn't worth it.
"It's just like how I once admired you but now find you repulsive."
Linda spoke slowly and deliberately, aiming to inflict more pain on William.
Seeing him in distress brought her a twisted sense of satisfaction.
"Linda..."
"Mr. Wilson, we're at the office. Please call me Ms. Felix. After all, we aren't that close."
William's heart shattered when he heard Linda's words!
They had once been so close, and now, it had come to this.
Who should be blamed?
Was it Linda's awakening or William's previous indifference that led to this outcome?
Regardless of the reason, it was ultimately William's own fault.
"Linda..." William's voice was filled with pain.
Linda pretended not to hear.
She pressed the intercom button. "Wendy, come in."
