Chapter 28 He’s Attractive and Tall?
Chapter 28 He’s Attractive and Tall?
After leaving Garrison's house, Lacey took a taxi downtown.
She needed to buy some new clothes. Otherwise, returning to the Carters in such revealing clothes
would cause a stir.
Lacey eventually purchased an outfit from a retail store. Just as she was about to put on her new
purchase, her cell phone rang.
"Lacey, save me! I need your help!" Alina yelled over the phone.
"What's the matter, Alina? Calm down!" Lacey sprang to her feet. Her nerves were on edge.
Forty minutes passed.
Lacey was on her way to the airport.
"Okay, I got it. Come again? He's attractive and 6 feet tall? What's his name? Cloud?" Lacey scowled
before continuing, "What kind of name is that? What's his real name? Come on, tell me! Hey! Hey—"
She dropped her head and saw that her cell phone was dead.
Lacey shook her phone and pressed the power button. It was, however, remained unresponsive.
How could her phone run out of battery at such a critical moment!
"Miss, you have reached your destination." The taxi driver turned to Lacey after stopping the car.
"May I know what time it is?" Lacey asked somewhat eagerly.
"It's 10:40." The driver replied.
"Oh, thank you." After paying the fare, Lacey rushed out of the car.
She was late!
Alina was such a pain in the a*s! It turned out she learned crime and had gotten into a fight the night
before. Her father was outraged and grounded her as a result.
Little did she know that her "boyfriend," the man she claimed to have been dating for two years, had
arrived unannounced!

Therefore, she had no choice but to rely on Lacey to pick him up.
Unlucky for Lacey, her phone battery died before she knew the man's actual name.
Moreover, she'd never taken a plane or been to the airport. As soon as she walked inside, she felt
woozy.
"Hello, may I ask where is the reception area?" Lacey leaned up close and politely asked the staff
inside.
"It's right over there." A member of the crew indicated a direction.
"Thank you." Lacey rushed over after expressing her gratitude.
The entrance to the reception was packed with people.
Lacey got a headache as she looked about. She had no idea who Alina's "boyfriend" was.
Furthermore, she was unable to make a phone call.
What should she do in this situation? It was rare for Alina to seek her help. How could she explain it if
she screwed it up?
Oh, yes, Alina did mention he was 6 feet tall!
Recalling the man's characteristic, Lacey took it in stride. Just then, the crowd erupted into a frenzy.
"Wow, he's hot!" screamed a slew of girls.
Lacey took a closer look and found an attractive man who was at least 6 feet tall. He had only one
piece of luggage.
Could he be Cloud, Alina's mentioned online friend?
Lacey was hesitant to move forward.
She peered inside the reception area once more. However, there were no other tall men around.
When she looked back, she noticed that the handsome man seemed to be searching for someone as
well. He occasionally glanced at his cell phone.
Could it be him?
Yes, he must be on the lookout for someone!
Without much hesitation, Lacey dashed over.
"Hello!" She raised her eyes to the man. "Are you Mr. Cloud?"
The tall man couldn't help but look at Lacey when he heard the voice.
Perhaps due to running too fast, Lacey's ponytail came loose. Her dark hair cascaded over her
shoulders. Her face was flushed, and she gasped for air.
"Do you know who Alina is? She's not available right now and asked me to come pick you up. You're
Mr. Cloud, right?"
Lacey asked while her eyes occasionally drew to the crowd behind him.
Worried she had recognized the wrong guy.
Meanwhile, the tall man remained silent from the beginning. He stared at her while pondering.
The woman before him tilted her head slightly to focus in one direction. She was clearly looking for
someone. Her eyes were brilliant, swift-darting as the stars. He couldn't take his gaze off of them.
Lacey frowned slightly. As fewer people emerged from the reception area, a second tall man had yet to
appear.
Eventually, she returned her attention to the man before her.
"Hello, may I ask—" She wanted to confirm the person's identity.
A smile rose on the man's eyes just then. "Yes, I'm Cloud. Are you here to pick me up?" His slightly
hoarse voice interrupted her sentence.
"Oh, it really is you! Sorry that I'm late. Let's go!" Lacey released a sigh of relief. She hurried up to help
him with his luggage.
"Okay!" The man smiled faintly, then followed her out the exit.
On the other side—
"Ma'am, Mr. Henderson isn't answering his phone. He's nowhere to be found at the airport!" Beside a
luxury car worth tens of millions of dollars stood a driver. He was baffled at the moment.
Where was he?
Where on earth was Mr. Henderson?
