Chapter 21
Chapter 21
Jasper could still hear Esther’s anguished voice through the door. His eyes were slightly reddened. He
tapped on his phone contacts and found Bradley’s name but left the app after a few seconds of
hesitation.
There was no telling how long it had been since his assistant came to him with some food.
“Mr. Searle, I’ve asked Octagon to prepare some easily digestible food according to your instructions.”
Jasper gestured for the assistant to put away the food. How would Esther be in the mood to eat now?
He took a deep breath and pushed open the door in front of him.
In the room, Esther had passed out in tears on Tinkerbell.
“Esther!” Jasper gasped and darted forward to help her up.
“Doctor, doctor!”
The doctor rushed over and sent Esther away to be treated.
Jasper followed them hastily while his assistant remained to take care of the rest.
The morgue staff who came put Tinkerbell into a body bag, and the assistant followed them to wheel
Tinkerbell to the cold locker in the morgue.
After the procedures were taken care of, he then reported everything that happened to Jasper.
Esther had just donated her bone marrow to Felix and did not get any rest after the surgery as she
rushed to this hospital. Moreover, she was shocked by Tinkerbell’s death. The various reasons had
caused her to faint.
The medical staff had done their best to pull her back from the verge of death, and the attending
physician found Jasper to tell him about Esther’s condition objectively.
“Mr. Searle, the patient’s been malnourished for a long time and is in very bad health. She’s barely
holding on now. I suggest you find a slow-paced, scenic place and a nutritionist to treat her, or at this
age, she’ll…”
The doctor shook her head. She had been practicing for decades and had never seen any patients.

Jasper responded instantly, “Thanks, doctor. Can I see her now?”
“Yes. I’ve given her some sedating medication with a nutrient IV drip. She might be sleeping for hours.

“Thank you,
doctor.”
Jasper went to the hospital ward and looked at the bony woman on the bed..
He could always remember when she was 16. Back then, he had gone back to the Searles for the first
time as an illegitimate son. Everyone would bully him, but she was like an angel that had barged into
his world.
Both pitiful young souls sought warmth and salvation from each other.
When he said that he wanted the Searles, she gave him all her allowance for his investment.
When she said she loved Bradley, he made plans to fulfill her dream.
Jasper took a seat and held Esther’s bony hand in pain. His chest felt heavy and constricted.
He took a deep breath suddenly and told his assistant to keep an eye on Esther before he drove to the
Warner Group to look for Bradley, who was working at the moment.
“Mr. Searle, Mr. Searle! You can’t
go in!”
Bradley’s secretary stopped him the best she could, but it was futile.
