Chapter 495 Bottom Line
Chapter 495 Bottom Line
Faye knew whom Jake was referring to.
Jake had endured hardships for many years for the sake of that person.
Faye remained silent for a while when she heard Jake's words. She moved her lips and asked,
"When's your appointment with Tiffany."
Jake replied, "Three o'clock in the afternoon."
Faye glanced at her wristwatch when she heard his words and said, "Okay. I will arrive at two o'clock."
Jake replied, "Okay. Call me when you arrive."
After ending the call with Jake, Faye put her phone into her pocket and gazed at Colin.
Colin curled his thin lips into a smile and asked, "Why did Jake call you?"
Faye replied honestly, "Tiffany will go to his clinic for psychological treatment this afternoon and Jake
wants to induce her to tell the truth."
Colin knew something about what had happened to Jake.
Though Colin didn't know that kind of relationship, he could respect and understand it.
Bluntly, it didn't have any difference from his love for Faye.
When Faye finished the words, Colin reached out to grasp her hand and said, "I can't accompany you
there as I'm hospitalized. Be careful."
Faye said, "I will arrange for a nursing worker to take care of you."
Colin replied, "Don't bother. I will call Abbot later and ask him to come here."
Faye said with a smile, "But I remember you despised Abbot for being too troublesome yesterday."
Colin smiled and replied, "That was one situation, and this is another one."
After arranging for Colin, Faye walked out of the hospital and drove to Jake's psychological clinic.
When she arrived, she wasn't in a hurry to get out of the car or enter the clinic. Instead, she took out
her phone and called Jake. Belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.
Jake answered the call soon and asked, "Are you here?"
Faye replied, "Yep."
Jake said, "Wait for me. I'll go out to take you in."
Several minutes later, Jake who was in a white gown showed up before Faye's car.
Faye unlocked the doors of the car. Then Jake pulled open a door to the backseats, stooped, and got
into the car.
Faye turned around to look at him and asked, "Is everything ready?"
Jake took out a pack of cigarettes from his pocket, bowed his head, took out a cigarette with his teeth,
and then lit the cigarette. He took a long drag on it and replied, "Yep. I've arranged everything. I gave
my employees a holiday today and only some trusted employees who have followed me for years are
left in the clinic."
Faye nodded and said, "That's great."
Jake continued, "I will give you the surveillance video when it is over. Please handle it."
Faye asked in surprise, "Aren't you going to hand in the evidence to the police in person?"
Fake chuckled, shook his head, and said, "Though we love each other deeply, we don't have a destiny.
I can only do this far for him."
Jake paused, smiled at Faye, and continued, "He's not only a victim but also a perpetrator in this
matter. I avenge him for the sake of our love. But I will only stop here and give you the evidence
because I want to atone for his crime. It's also my bottom line."
After finishing those words, Jake leaned back against the chair with the cigarette in his mouth and
continued, "I can't confuse right and wrong for him."
Seeing Jake force a smile, Faye slightly pressed her lips together and called his name, "Jake."
Jake bit on the butt of the cigarette in his mouth, making it flat. He replied, "Don't say any sentimental
words.
Faye replied, "I think I'm too lucky to make friends with you."
The cigarette in Jake's mouth trembled as he said in a husky voice, "Me too,"
None of them say anything after that. The car was enveloped by a deadly silence.
When he smoked the whole cigarette, Jake held the cigarette between his fingers and stubbed it out.
He then looked up at Faye and said, "Let's go."
Then he opened the car door and got out of the car.
After entering the clinic, Jake arranged for Faye to stay in the lounge next to his therapy room.
It was indeed a monitor room.
Faye looked around and then pulled out a chair and sat down. She then looked at Jake and said, "Be
careful."
Jake curled up his lips and replied, "Rest assured. I've planned for years and there won't be any
accidents."
Faye reminded him, "Don't be careless."
Jake still wanted to say something to Faye, but there suddenly came some knocks on the door of the
lounge. The next moment, a nurse's voice sounded, "Dr. Thomas, Ms. Shaw is here."
Jake swallowed the words he wanted to say to Faye when he heard the nurse's voice. He raised his
hand and directly unbuttoned two buttons of his white gown, faking as if he had just put it on. Then he
answered in a deep voice, "I'm coming."
While speaking, Jake winked at Faye.
Faye understood his suggestion and smiled at him.
Tiffany who was smartly dressed was waiting at the door. Her face looked so pale and a young man
looking in his early twenties was standing beside her.
Spotting Jake, Tiffany curled up her lips and said, "Dr. Thomas, did I disturb your noon break?"
Jake unhurriedly buttoned his gown and said with a gentle smile, "Nope."
Tiffany said, "That's great. Otherwise, I will feel guilty."
Tiffany was always good at claptrap. Jake chimed in with a smile, "Ms. Shaw, this way please."
Tiffany strode forward smilingly.
She didn't notice that Jake's eyes were filled with unfathomable coldness when she turned around.
