I heard sounds of different voices and other things which were making my head throb in pain, I opened my eyes and everything was blurry and I blinked my eyes to make it clear for me to see where I was. I see my mom talking to a man wearing a white coat.
She was worried, I can tell that by just looking at her expressions. I tried to make a sound but my throat hurt like I hadn’t drunk water for many days. Still, I managed to whisper but it went unheard by her. This time I tried to whisper louder and she heard me.
She hurriedly walked toward me, “hon, Are you okay?” She asked while taking my hand in hers, I nodded my head at her as I tried to sit up but felt this pain in my head increasing by my move. My mom put a pillow on my back and helped me sit. I leaned back on the pillow.
“Water” I managed to ask,
She handed me over a glass of water, I gulped it whole. I turned to my mom and asked, “What happened?”
“You had an accident,” she said and immediately everything rushed to my head.
I remember someone lifting me from the seat of my car, and putting me into their own. I can’t remember their face, but I can remember their body smell. I can’t quite describe it. It was very pleasant and intoxicating. I was snapped back to reality by my mother yelling at me for driving carelessly.
“Mom, I’m perfectly fine,” I said, slightly irritated.
“You’re not fine, you hit your head,” she yelled at me.
“Miss Green, please don’t yell at the patient, it may increase the head pain,” The doctor who was quietly standing at the door said to mom.
She nodded her head to him and asked “Can I take her home.”
“Yes, she’s okay. There are no major injuries,” he said and walked out of the room. I changed into the clothes which mom bought for me.
We walked out of the hospital, and mom drove us home. She opened the apartment door, and we walked inside. I sat down on the couch, and she brought me a water bottle and I drank like I had been starved for years. After drinking the water, I placed the empty water bottle on the table and turned around to face my mom.
“I got an offer to be a personal publicist for Mr. Villin,” I said enthusiastically.
“Mr. Villin?”She asked me with confusion.
“Mr. Villin, the one who you saw in the newspaper today,” I said pointing my finger at the paper.
“Oh! But I heard he’s a dangerous man… their whole family is,” she said,
“Yes, but my relationship with him is a professional one and my client, I don’t have any trouble working with him mom,” I said confidently.
“Okay, I’m sure you’ll nail this one too,” she said, touching my cheek.
I smiled at her and hugged her, “I love you, mom.”

I woke up this morning early morning, did my morning routine, and had breakfast.
“Bye mom,” I said while walking towards the main door,
“Bye sweety,”
I walked into the elevator and reached the lobby. I drove to my Firm building, and parked my car in the parking lot, and walked into the building. As usual, Linda greeted me with her sweet smile; I greeted her back and walked into the elevator.
I reached my floor and noticed that Lydia was already there, working on something on her computer.
She heard the sound of my heels and looked at me, “Good Morning” She greeted me.
“Good morning,” I replied.
“What happened to your head,” she asked with concern evident in her eyes.
“Nothing, I had an accident,” I said.
She gasped, “Accident?”
“Yes, I’m fine now,” I assured her.
“What the hell Clarissa, why can’t you be careful,” she yelled at me.
“Lydia, I’m perfectly fine,” I said.
She inhaled and said, “Promise me you’ll drive carefully next time,”
“I promise, I’ll be.”
She nodded, and I walked into my office and put my handbag on the desk while taking a seat. “I have news for you,” she said, walking to me with her laptop in her hands.
“What is it?” I asked,
“Mr. Villin wants us to shift our office to villin’s enterprise’s main building,” She said, I exhaled and leaned back on my chair.
“Like immediately,” she added,
“Why he wants us to shift to their building,” I asked her,
“He thinks it would be best if we could work closely and together,” She said.
“He sent his bodyguards to help us with it,” She added.
I looked around my office and sighed.
“Right now?” I asked.
She nodded her head to my question.
“Then we should start packing,” I said, slowly standing up from my chair.
After packing our things Matthew’s bodyguards have loaded them in their car, I and Lydia traveled to the building in my car.
After reaching the building entrance, the watchman opened the gate and looked at the skyscraper in front of I forgot to drive the car inside. I was openly gaping at the building. It was truly beautiful, the shining glass and the sunlight reflecting through the glasses making the building look mesmerizing and at the same time intimidating.
Lydia shook my arm making me snap back to reality.
“Where were you lost,” she said,
“Nowhere,” I said while driving my car inside.
I parked my car in the parking lot, As we got out of the car Lillian walked towards us with a smile on her smile. Her middle length blond hair was bouncing while her long legs were talking long strides. Her blue eyes were gleaming while she was walking to us.
“Miss Green, welcome to Villin enterprises” she welcomed us, I smiled at her and said, “Thank you”
She took us inside and it was so big, In the middle, there was a reception with a man and a woman sitting on their desks doing their work.
Lillian took us to the elevator, and we got inside with our stuff carried by the bodyguards. She pressed the last floor number which was the 93rd floor.
We waited patiently for the doors to open, while awkwardly smiling at each other.
Finally, we reached the top floor of the building, and the doors of the elevator opened.
We were welcomed with a very beautiful interior, and it was clean and everything was perfectly in the place. There was a deck next to a double door office. And there were two offices side by side on the other side.
Lillian took us to the double door office first, she knocked on the door and Matthew’s voice came out asking to come in. She pushed the doors and let us in. Inside Matthew was sitting on his chair and his desk was completely covered by files. He was reading the files, and he looked so stressed. All of a sudden, I feel sorry for him.
“Mr. Villin” Lillian called, he looked up from his work and smiled when his eyes landed on me.
“Oh! Clarissa” he stood up and walked to me and said, “welcome”
“Thank you,” I said,
“Lillian will show you your cabin, and she will help with all other works. Feel free to meet me if you have any doubts okay,” he said,
“Okay, Mathew,” I said while turning around.
“Wait, what is that band-aid dear?” He asked.Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
I touched it and said, “I had an accident, Don’t worry I’m fine now.”
“You should be careful, hon,” he said,
“I will,” I smiled and walked out of the office.
We walked into my office, and Lillian opened the office door and I gasped looking at it.
