Mr. CEO Sassy Bride

The Embarrassed Moment

Hannah observed as Herbert descended from his vehicle, and upon his arrival, she hurriedly enveloped him in a tight embrace, tears streaming down her face.

“I trusted him with my entire life, Herbert. I believed he was the one for me, my soulmate, my husband. I was ready to be the best wife for him, as I’ve never loved any man like I loved him, Herbert. I never took his presence in my life for granted. I loved David so much, so much that I never imagined he would betray me like this,” Hannah poured out to Herbert.

Herbert let out a quiet sigh as he gently stroked Hannah’s back in a consoling manner. He didn’t tell her to stop crying or talking, but simply continued to caress her hair and back tenderly.

Hannah soon released herself from his embrace and gazed into Herbert’s face, revealing the redness of her eyes. “I caught him with another woman, right on top of him, Herbert. They were having sex, and David was clearly enjoying every moment of it,” Hannah’s words came out in sobs as fresh tears welled up in her eyes.

“It’s alright, Hannah. He’s not worth your tears. Please stop crying,” Herbert tried to console her, gently patting her shoulders.

“I did everything to please him, Herbert. I’m not a sex addict or a woman who can’t live without sex, but just to satisfy David, I watched a lot of porn and sex movies to learn from them. He’s been unemployed for over a year, but I didn’t care. I made him my top priority and provided him with everything he needed. So tell me, Herbert. What more could I have done to please him? How else can we satisfy men?” Hannah’s voice rose in anger, fresh tears streaming down her face.

Instead of answering, Herbert simply pulled her close and held her tight. The tightly clenched jaws gave away the storm of emotions raging inside him as he muttered, “I never want to see that bastard again.”

Nelson confidently exited Susan’s room, pausing to close the door behind him. His gaze lingered on her sleeping face, resting serenely on the pillow.

Leilani approached him, questioning his troubled expression at the door. “What is it?” she probed.

“Lani, am I the only one who has noticed Mom retiring to bed earlier than usual lately?” Nelson’s features were creased with concern.

Leilani’s eyes fixed on the shut door, recalling the physician’s words from their previous visit. Though the doctor never mentioned anything peculiar about Susan’s behavior, Leilani couldn’t shake off the feeling that it was somehow linked to her terminal illness.

“What do you mean? Personally, I think it’s a good thing she’s getting more rest these days. Did you know that getting sufficient sleep can improve one’s aging process, boost energy levels, and prevent chronic conditions?” Leilani lectured.Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.

Nelson let out a sigh, his gaze returning to the closed door. He felt a sense of unease but before he could voice his concerns, Leilani had already taken hold of his arm.

“Come on, let’s go. You haven’t eaten yet,” she reminded him, tugging him along.

A small smile flickered on Nelson’s lips as he followed Leilani’s lead. After a while, he had finished his dinner while Leilani sat across from him at the table.

“So, how long until we get the results from the DNA test?” Leilani inquired, her curiosity piqued.

“Five days at most,” replied Nelson, wiping his mouth with a napkin.

He turned his gaze towards Leilani, a glint of revelation in his eyes. “My suspicions were correct, Lani. She wants to bring the child into our lives,” he revealed, recounting the events of the day.

“That woman!” Leilani seethed, her anger palpable. “Why do some women have to be so despicable? They give all of us a bad reputation. How could she dare to even consider coming back into your life after what she’s done?”

Leilani continued her tirade, her fury escalating. Little did she know, the big man was no longer paying attention to her words.

Rather than maintaining his composed demeanor, his lips curved into a gentle grin as he observed Leilani’s own. His thoughts were a jumbled mess, but the movement of her lips had a certain charm that he couldn’t resist.

His adorable smile dimpled his plump cheeks, and the sparkle in his blue eyes betrayed his happiness.

Caught off guard, Leilani paused in her words, taken aback by his sudden change in expression. Nelson, on the other hand, reverted back to his stern countenance.

“I’m listening,” he stated plainly.

“No, you’re not. I saw you smiling when what I was saying was not at all amusing,” Leilani challenged him.

Nelson raised an eyebrow in response. “If I were to repeat your last words, what reward would you offer me?” he inquired playfully.

Laughing, Leilani shook her head. “You must stop being cheeky, Mr. Carter, and let’s take this matter seriously.”

“At this point, I think it’s time to finally come clean with Mom. You have to tell her everything about our contract marriage and your child,” Leilani suggested, her expression betraying her concern.

Nelson nodded in agreement. “I will do that, but I want to wait for the results to be in first. I’m sure Mom will accept the child, but Ariel is a different story,” he responded.

“Perfect. If both you and Mom don’t want her here, she will take the hint and leave quickly,” Leilani exclaimed excitedly.

Nelson chuckled and stood up from his seat. “Just be prepared to have her in this house, Lani. Please,” he pleaded softly before turning and walking away.

The following day…

Leilani sat restlessly in the back of a cab, her anger and impatience evident. After Nelson had left her alone in the dining room last night, she received a call from Hannah recounting the horrible things David had done to her. Her fury had been almost uncontrollable, and she had the sudden urge to hunt down David and chop off his head. However, Hannah had managed to calm her down and Leilani had promised to see her the next day.

Now, as she traveled to Hannah’s house, her mind was filled with rage and her own frustration when she caught sight of a figure she would never mistake.

“Sir, please pull over,” she urged the driver, paid him, and hastily exited the cab.

As she stepped out, her furious gaze met someone familiar, causing her anger to soar even higher.

“You despicable bastard!” Leilani seethed, clenching her teeth as she charged towards the person and landed a punch on his jaw.

David, who was smiling while holding another woman’s hand and flaunting their love in public, was not surprised to see Leilani, but he certainly did not expect such a reaction from her.

“You imbecile! How dare you treat my friend like that?!” Leilani growled, dropping her bag and grabbing David’s shirt.

By this time, bystanders had begun to gawk and watch the scene unfolding before them.

“Lani, let go of me now! What the hell are you doing?!” David also raised his voice, trying to break free from Leilani’s grip, but she only held on tighter.

“Who is this girl, David?” The woman he was with earlier spoke up for the first time, eyeing Leilani disdainfully.

Leilani shot the woman a disgusted look before shouting, “If you know what’s good for you, you better cut ties with this fool and find yourself a better man.”

David couldn’t contain his anger any longer and suddenly shoved Leilani away. “Who do you think you are, grabbing my shirt?!” he growled, his voice dripping with rage.

It seemed Leilani was ready for this as she quickly got back on her feet and landed a hard slap on David’s face, catching him off guard.

“You idiot! Do you really think you can play with my friend’s feelings and get away with it?!” Leilani seethed, her anger showing no signs of abating.

“You bitch!” David snarled, returning the slap with equal force.

Caught off guard, Leilani stumbled and fell to the ground, clutching her face in pain.

“Are you out of your mind? What makes you think you can mess with me just because you’re married to a wealthy man by contract?” David spat, his nostrils flaring with anger.

Leilani experienced a sharp pain in her mouth. As she delicately probed her bottom lip, she discovered the presence of blood.

“Don’t you forget, you’re just a girl from the slums. Just because you’re with a wealthy man at this moment does not assure your future, you wretched woman!” David spat venomously.

Leilani had believed herself to be immune to his words, but tears uncontrollably welled up in her eyes, especially as she knew the truth behind his insults.

“Who are you to lay your hand upon my woman?” A deep, commanding voice echoed in the place, causing Leilani to begin sobbing upon recognizing the speaker.
