Chapter 7 Gone
Eleanor coldly snorted and walked away without a word.
The lawyer added from behind, "I am Ms. Graves' legal representative. Please get in touch with me for
the afterward."
He exchanged business cards with Christian's lawyer before following Eleanor's departure.
Christian's lawyer glanced at the business card and was in surprise.
"This is a top-tier lawyer from a prestigious law firm. He has never lost a case."
Christian stood there stiffly, instructing Brian, "Find where Anastasia is."
Brian nodded in response.
Shortly after Christian returned to the company, Beatrice went to work, too.
She gently made him a cup of coffee, but he glanced at it without taking a sip.
His taste had already changed. He preferred the coffee Anastasia cooked now.
His mind was filled with thoughts of her at this moment.
Beatrice's face turned pale, and she cautiously looked at him.
"What's wrong, Christian? Are you not feeling well?"
Christian's face was cold. "Do you know who the person you hit last night was?"
Beatrice pursed her lips and shook her head anxiously.
Christian was on the edge of rage.
"You hit Anastasia! You really have no idea?"
Beatrice froze briefly, with tears streaming down her face. She walked over, grabbed his hand, and
sobbed.
"Anastasia? I really didn't know. It didn't mean to. Is she okay? Can I apologize to her?"
Christian pulled his hand back as his face turned pale.
His eyes showed indifference and suspicion to her.
Beatrice cried hysterically, clinging to his shoulders, afraid of losing something.
"How could I harm her? Don't you believe me? I am a mother. How could I lie?"
Christian gave her a deep look. His gaze was dark and unfathomable, exuding an overwhelming aura.
"I will investigate this accident thoroughly. If you did it intentionally, you would pay for this, for my lost
baby."
Beatrice stiffened slightly, and her expression changed. Then, she quickly wiped away her tears and
stood up.
"You don't trust me? I'll apologize to Ms. Graves and ask for her forgiveness. If she refuses, I'll turn
myself into the police and go to jail. From now on, Charlie will be entrusted to you."
Christian's gaze was obscured. He said indifferently.
"Very well. I'll arrange for you to go abroad in a few days."
After he finished speaking, Beatrice froze in disbelief. Her face turned even paler, and she stood still, a
hint of fear crossing her eyes.
Christian ignored her and walked away directly.
There were just too many coincidences, and he couldn't help but think more.
He owed Anastasia too much. Once she recovered, he would bring her back and make it up to her,
treating her better.
...
Anastasia didn't know how many days she had been unconscious.
When she woke up again, her whole body ached.
Slowly, she opened her eyes and looked around, momentarily taken aback by the surroundings.
The luxurious decor, the familiar yet unfamiliar limited edition furniture arrangements, exquisite antique
vases placed everywhere, and the crystal curtains she had custom-made abroad.
At that moment, her eyes welled up with tears.
This was her room! The home she hadn't returned to for three years.
She was Anastasia, the heiress of the Graves Group, groomed to be the successor since childhood!
"Ms. Graves, you're awake?"
A voice sounded nearby. Someone called out excitedly, "Ms. Graves has woken up!"
Anastasia's memories before she lost consciousness flooded into her mind. The blinding light, the
unbearable pain. She instinctively reached to touch her abdomen.
She felt nothing there anymore, realizing that the brief presence of the little life had gone.
Tears streamed down her face, and the pain was unbearable.
Why did they treat her like this?
She had already given up on Christian, so why did Beatrice have to harm her baby?
Anastasia curled up, suppressing her cries.
Soon, there was a knock at the door.
Anastasia collected her thoughts and said, "Come in."
Baxter, her father, walked in, sighing with a tender expression as he looked at her.
From the moment Anastasia insisted on marrying Christian, he had witnessed her enduring three years
of suffering, something she had never experienced before. She had endured all kinds of hardships.
Not only did she suffer from physical injuries, but now she was in such a miserable state, almost losing
her life.
When he heard about her accident, he was filled with anxiety, wishing he could slaughter Christian and
that wretched woman.
He walked over and gently touched her face, comforting her with a warm voice. "Don't be afraid. No
one can hurt my little princess anymore!"
Anastasia couldn't help but hug him and burst into tears.
"Dad, I was wrong..."
At this point, they couldn't even have a decent ending.
It's not easy to part ways amicably. Someone had to pay the price for the marriage.
She had given her wholehearted love for three years, only to receive humiliation and harm in return,
and she even lost her baby.
This lesson was deeply etched in her memory.
Baxter lovingly stroked his daughter's hair. Content is © by NôvelDrama.Org.
"If you want to come back, you can always return. Derek will handle the remaining matters. Your
mother will be heartbroken if she sees you like this."
When Baxter received a call from Eleanor, he was so frightened that his heart almost stopped.
Compared to losing his daughter, what were a few mistakes she made?
The power and influence of the Graves Group were no less than that of the Patterson Group.
Did Christian think he could get away with hurting Anastasia?
"I will personally seek revenge for this. Dad, please don't interfere."
Baxter knew his daughter's temperament and reluctantly nodded.
"Okay, do what you want."
In any case, he had made up his mind. He would never let anyone who bullied his daughter go
unpunished.
Anastasia pursed her lips. "Is Mom still filming?"
Anastasia's mother, Amanda Graves, was a well-known actress in the industry, having won numerous
awards.
She entered the entertainment industry at a young age and, now in her forties, still had a strong market
reputation. She constantly received acting offers, and she would choose one to pass the time each
year.
However, Amanda had always kept her marriage a secret, and no one knew that she had married
Baxter, the chairman of the Graves Group. She had even given birth to Anastasia. Her private life was
well protected.
Baxter nodded and smiled, "She's attending an event abroad and can't come back right away."
Although she couldn't return, she made video calls one after another, leaving Anastasia overwhelmed.
Baxter didn't announce Anastasia's return home. He didn't want to disrupt his daughter's rest.
He planned to wait until she recovered a bit more before making any decisions.
But when Eleanor heard that Anastasia had woken up, she immediately came.
Seeing Anastasia's weak and pale face, she felt indignant on her behalf.
"He didn't even ask about you and your baby. That night, he bailed out that woman from the police
station. I shouldn't have just slapped her. I should have hit her head with a brick!"
Anastasia's love for him was gone with the baby.
She didn't care who he loved anymore.
However, a sharp pain pierced her heart when she heard about their baby.
But there was no use to feel sad.
